UN to Regulate the Internet? House of Representatives Set to Examine Bill Next Week

The Hill is reporting that the United States House of Representatives is due to consider an international proposal that would give the United Nations more control over the Internet sometime next week.
Backed by China, Russia, Brazil, India and other members of the international body, the proposal is drawing fire on both sides of the aisle in Congress, as members of the Obama administration even move to criticize it.
“We’re quite concerned,” said Larry Strickling, the head of the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
He described the measure as “top-down regulation where it’s really the governments that are at the table, but the rest of the stakeholders aren’t.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also pointed out that China and Russia “aren’t exactly bastions of Internet freedom,” and just because they support a measure, that’s not exactly a reason to follow suit.
Pledging to guard the issue, Rubio elaborated: “Any place that bans certain terms from search should not be a leader in international Internet regulatory frameworks.”

The Internet is currently governed under a “multi-stakeholder” approach that gives power to a host of nonprofits, rather than governments.

“We lose that when we turn this over to a group of just governments,” [Larry Strickling, head of the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration] said.
In an op-ed earlier this year in The Wall Street Journal, [Robert McDowell, a Republican commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission] warned that “a top-down, centralized, international regulatory overlay is antithetical to the architecture of the Net.”
“Productivity, rising living standards and the spread of freedom everywhere, but especially in the developing world, would grind to a halt as engineering and business decisions become politically paralyzed within a global regulatory body,” McDowell wrote.

“And let’s face it,” McDowell concluded, “strong-arm regimes are threatened by popular outcries for political freedom that are empowered by unfettered Internet connectivity.”
Regardless, the proposal could still come up for a vote at a UN conference in Dubai in December.

NOT one of them gives a rats ass about our sovereignty,our Constitution or the future of America. They pass bills that are unconstitutional such as the patriot act and NDAA to name a few. They are more concerned with re-elections and lining their pockets with our tax dollars than they are for our individual liberties. They have sold their souls to the UN. Besides most people not employed within the IT sector are dumb as posts computer wise and should be easy (relatively) to infilitrate. Maybe not their servers, but their personal accounts and such. He is so unassuming and has that little grin & laugh and an unexplained “excitement” in his gestures and explanations. I am not demeaning this man when I say, he reminds me of the “nerdy” kid in class that when he gets his chance to let the class know his genius ideas & dicoveries, he is actually “giddy” during his presentation.. That is Dick Morris’ “charm” and don’t have a clue about his age,(he acts so youthful) but he would be someone I could “hang-out“ with and ”shoot-the-bull” with and have a grand ole’ time. He “knows” these people and this is what I find so funny is that he is believable when he writes his books. I think I have read all of his books except his current one and will be buying it and reading it soon. It must really “tick-off” the Clintons, especially Ms Clinton that Dick is so successful with his writings. Ms.Clinton does not look as “perky” as she did in ‘08 and ole’ Bill is having the time of his life. Billy has a 66yr BD, Aug.19 but he is still “feeling-his-oats”.

While reading some EX-KGB stuff, there was the concept of subversion, instead of armies, the Russians used “active measures” or ideological subversion. Now they weren’t the only ones, the concepts go back to Sun Tzu, but the EX-KGB guy said that an “open society” is easily subverted and a “closed society” is nearly impossible to subvert from within. BINGO SOROS OPEN SOCIETY..
An open society is one of cultural diversity and a diverse society is weaker one, susceptible to subversion. A homogenous society or less culturally divers is more cohesive and very difficult to subvert from within. An open society can be demoralized much more easily than closed one.
So, Soros’s Open Society funding and propaganda is a scheme to break down the cohesive structure, demoralize and weaken it enabling ideological subversion from within. Combine a “weakened” Open Society with Gramscian Marxist infiltration of culture, media, education and institutions then you have a plan to take over and control the masses from within. PURE EVIL…
