Unbelieveable? Squirrel Survives 100+ MPH Lamborghini Encounter

The saying goes that if something is too good to be true, it probably is (meaning, it’s not true). That saying could be appropriate here. Could be. But then again, maybe this almost unbelievable video is for real.
What you’re about to see is a squirrel allegedly get “run over” by a Lamborghini zipping along at over 100 MPH — and survive. That‘s at least what the video’s description says. And if you’re like me, you’re going to watch this about 10 times (expand to full screen to get the best effect):
The video was apparently taken at the Lamborghini Experience 4 in California, a gathering of Lamborghini owners that allows owners and drivers to their cars to the test.
It could be fake. But there is one thing that is quite convincing. If you watch (and listen) closely, it looks like the squirrel didn’t come away completely unscathed. It seems he has a much shorter tail after emerging from the undercarriage.
Close encounters of the squirrel kind? Nuts. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).

UPDATE:
One of the event organizers insists the footage is real:
“It’s 100 percent authentic,” says Elie Rothstein, one of the owners of Al & Ed’s Autosound, which put on the event. “We had cameras set up all over the track to get footage on our drivers. Only a couple days later do we see this. And I was like, ‘What?!’ It blows your mind.”

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:51pmIf you watch as the car moves out of frame you can see a blurr of something tumbling down the road… it would be the rest of it’s tail

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:52pmThe regular speed shows the tail bit going the same direction as the car, the slow motion shows it taking a different path… its a fake video

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:43pmYou bet it was the hand of God. God is the creator of all things and if you think he didn’t see one of creations about to be creamed, you are mistaken. This same God you are mocking will be the same God you will be begging not to send you into the fiery pit. I suggest you look long and hard at yourself and ask yourself this one question…”If I die today, where will I end up”? Remember, God sent his son Jesus to take on the sins of the world (including your mocking) and die on the cross just to give you everlasting life. To keep you from Hell. All you have to do is believe, in faith, was Jesus did for you.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:35pmAlso, @aaroninpolk county. You try hard enough to get reactions from us with your mockery of God and our beliefs. This is fine for us because we don’t have to react to your foolishness since God will do that in His own time and He can respond you much much better than we ever could. Of course, you would be a lot better off if we responded to you instead of God since His response will be everlasting, but that ain’t gonna happen.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:32pmFirst off, it was pretty clear that he still had the full length of his tail, he just had it tucked down by the ground after the contact. Secondly, I’m not really surprised that the squirrel survived through this. At the speed the Lamborghini was going, it is actually fairly easy for the car to kind of float over the squirrel after hitting it due to at that speed a little bump can cause the wheel to come up just barely off the pretty easily and then it would mostly just pass over the little critter.

Posted on July 5, 2011 at 12:30pmThe car went over the squirrel. It didn’t run him over. The squirrel was just in the right place not to die by tire and being splattered. Lucky squirrel.
