‘Uncle Jim Who’s a Little Stubborn’: Obama Takes a Shot at Fox News

President Barack Obama took a jab at Fox News during a campaign event Friday while reminding supporters that he’s “lowered taxes” for the middle class.

“So just in case some of your friends or neighbors, or you know, Uncle Jim who‘s a little stubborn and been watching Fox News and no he thinks that somehow I’ve raised taxes,” Obama said to laughter. “Let’s just be clear — we’ve lowered taxes for middle class families since I came into office.”

Fox News has been a favorite media target of the White House, most recently earlier this month when White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said none-too-subtly that those who believe the administration is promoting “class warfare” may be watching “one particular network.”

  The only people not paying more taxes are his progressive dem friends and that is only because they don’t pay their taxes!

  Lies, lies and more lies….geez my house is worth 35% than it was in 2008, my earnings have gone down, my companies sales are flat in 2012, my 401K has gone down and interest on my savings is not keeping place with inflation!
  
  Hummmmm…the gas for my company vehicles has doubled, food products have doubled and now your going to raise my taxes…I can’t wait another 120 days or so till the liar in chief is voted out of office!

  The handouts must stop and these lazy, worthless, gimme, folk need to put their asses in high gear and get back to work, create a job or starve. I am over the idleness of many, and the comi-socialist, anti-spirtirual, race BS, and psuedo-peace-love garbage being shoved down our throats.

  I keep hearing Obama repeat that he “lowered taxes for the middle class” but I’ve yet to see anyone produce the rate he lowered it to. I recall him giving temporary tax credits..these are not lower tax rates however.

So I guess since you’ve been around awhile and I haven’t, that means you know more than I do? Try not to be too arrogant. As WAKINGSHEEP pointed out, those were facts. Now, maybe he doesn’t support some of those things at this moment, but that’s not the point.

  I guess that the 6 people that had to decline the presidents request to be a Zsar and good old Turbo Timmy were middle class and Charlie Rangle who wrote the tax code but missed the fack you have to pay taxes on foreign investments. I’m middle class – make over 50 grand and less than 60 grand. Can’t figure out how to get under that 50 grand and no taxes without lying or cheating. Our whole tax system was designed for everyone to pay and all will have to if we ever want to get rid of that 16 trillion debt, of which Obama has put on in 3.5 Yrs..Folks that make over 12 grand should at least pay 1% and over 20 grand 2%, Etc.

  BLACK9897 & WAKINGSHEEP – A lot of that is half truths and not facts, and I don’t believe they are ALL crooks and liars. There’s some good people out there trying to make a difference. And yes, sometimes you have to choose between two “evils” in life, but often what you call “evil” is really just not everything you want. And I know from experience that people DO change positions, even wildly, over time. I used to consider myself a socialist, supported abortion on demand and was even a paying member of Handgun Control Inc. when I was in college. Now I wouldn’t vote for a Democrat if you put a gun to my head.

  I’m glad you changed your ways. However, bureaucrats rarely have real heart felt honest change. They play both sides to get votes.
  
  The good people are outnumbered by the bad 1,000 to 1. So it’s almost pointless. Not to mention some of those “good” people while they may have a good heart and intentions still support bad things because they believe in the system.
  
  Personally, I see the system as too far gone. That’s why I want everything to be privatized so we can have a TRUE Free Market, instead of this “pay or go to jail” BS. I greatly enjoy politics and making things right, but I will never go into it, because no real change would happen. The only place one could might make a difference is law enforcement. Think about it. Bureaucrats can write all the laws they want; write till their hands fall off and there is no more paper, but unless there is a gun to back up their legal suggestions, well…that’s what they will stay—suggestions.

  Mr. Romney is a self-made man who knows what it takes to meet a payroll and a man who has actually worked in the private sector. This is in contrast to a man who has worked on the public payroll his entire life and has surronded himself with folks who are likewise unfamiliar with with the capitalistic way of life (92%).
  Romney was not my first choice but Obama is last on my list.

  I find it amusing and a little unerving that he and other media outlets attack Fox News so hard. Fox is the only major broadcast news organization that doesn’t “fall in line” and “do what it’s told.” So what must be done? Destroy them. Discredit them. How dare this snotty nosed network get in the way of our plans. It’s like right out of a bad movie. See, I couldn’t get through ten minutes of watching MSNBC without writing down a lie they spew for the useful idiots that watch that network. Yet, nobody in the media attacks them? Hmmm. Oh, people do point out their dishonesty but they don’t get “attacked” like Fox News does. Then you have the little “repeaters”, who have never heard of critical thinking from their Mark Lamont Hill and Francis Fox Piven type professors, write “faux” news all over any site that allows. They’re just repeaters – mindless. Scale: If the U.S represented the media then fox news would be the size of Rhode Island. And the one biased anchor on that network, Hannity, would be Providence Rhode Island. And Hannity is a really nice guy who actually has the other side on his show every night. So, you have the entire powerful United States vs Providence Rhode Island. “Must Destroy Providence.   The lesser of two evils is what got us into this mess in the first place and electing another “lesser of two evils” will not fix it.

  Wakingsheep – I too believe myself to be a strict Constitutionalist. But I realize that we don’t get back to the strict Constitution in one voting cycle when we have been going this way for over 120 years. I believe that Romney is better than Obama. We can quibble about how much better but in the end he IS better. Any vote for any other candidate is a vote for Obama. Hold your nose, close your eyes, clinch your buttcheeks. Do what eve you have to do. But vote, and vote for Romney. We will get back to the Constitution one day. It just won’t be this year.

But we both know that our forefathers who wrote the Constitution would not be happy if we chose to give up our vote because there was no one that exactly met our criteria for whom to vote. A write in is better than not voting. But in this election we both know that our Country is on the line. And an admitted Marxist in a second term when he doesn’t have to worry about being reelected will, in fact, destroy this Country. Please think about it. And write in only if you must. But VOTE.   The only supporters who stay true are Paul supporters and the only candidate that actually espouses all the virtues that cons crave is Paul.

  Survivorseed – I watch 1-2 hours of Fox News a month. I liked 1. Cain, 2. Santorium, and 3. Paul. While I really liked Paul I felt his foreign policy stand was a non-starter. Wouldn’t get enough people to agree. I was right. Someday you guys need to realize Paul does not have an ice cubes chance in Hell of getting elected. Let’s get Obama out of office and then work on a constitutional candidate that can win with the support of the majority of the American people. That day is coming. Perhaps not in my lifetime but I will work hard to make it happen as soon as practically possible. Don’t give up! But don’t throw your vote away either.

  Shocking to see how many of you are Uncle Jim. The Federal Income Taxes on middle Income families remain near historic lows. Obama’s stimulus package biggest chunk was tax cut to 95% of the folks. Today the effective federal tax rate for families is around 17%.

What is more disturbing than Obama lying through his teeth with pathetic and easily disproved lies are the way his audience just laps it up and claps.
His signature program, Obamacare was deemed legal because the SCOTUS said the penalty was a tax.
Energy costs more.
Food costs more.
Compliance costs more and all those cost are passed down to the consumer with a lower wage than before.
And the deficit spending. What is that except a delayed taxed on the future….?
The guy is bankrupting us and they cheer for him when somebody should throw a shoe at him.

  Actually, according to the latest statistics report released today, you worked until today to pay your taxes-federal, state, and local. Of course, the report does note that just like the government they don’t count social security and medicare/medicaid or other entitlement obligations in their calculations.

Romney has promised to repeal Obamacare, lower taxes, get rid of all the new regulations, etc. He isn’t the same as Obama at all. Talk about flip flop, Obama has mastered that only calls it evolving, sure!!!! Obama is a Marxist. Romney is a Capitalist and will do all he can to turn this country around and into prosperity again. I discovered for the first time ever something that I could agree with BHO on. He said the other night that he had not told “the story” well enough. He has not told any of his fairly tails very well…I would offer that he needs to give up on the story telling and start speaking the truth.

GeorgeBush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spots a red phone and ask what the phone is for.

The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil WHY Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies, ” Since Obama took over , the country has gone to hell, so it’s a local call.”

“Aaaahhh, wow”. Well, you know, I live here in the Hampton Roads area and yes, most folks here believe it! Sad to see this knowing it is the area in which offers the largest military based area in the world and it is very liberial here. Most folks that do “occupy” the Hampton Roads area are military, just stationed here and the please take note that his timing here was during a work hour… so those that made it to see him in person, well, most probably do not work; heavy welfare here. Not too mention, all the interstates are clogged up w/traffic between Va. Beach and Hampton, Va… on a Friday afternoon, resort? The roads are normally all tied up w/traffic…
I for one appreciate our military and I also see many of my neighbors that do not by complaining, whinning or wish… bad things w/our brave men and women who serve to PROTECT all human life, no matter the country. Instead, we have boob’s like this expressing 2+2=5 and they all fall for it. I pray for my neighbors here in Hampton Roads, Va. as I do for our military personal.

  Forget “combating” the lies. The media will just grind it out and bog us down in the non-sense. The truth is not as simple as he DID raise taxes or DIDN’T. Some of tax increases are hidden in the healthcare bill and some have not been implemented yet. The media grazers will never go any deeper than he said she said. The lies are not haphazardly constructed. Forget all that and convince your family and friends to vote for Romney. After he is removed from office we don’t ever have to utter his name again.

Obama raised taxes many times, the first one was the schip which was a 2000% increase on tobacco.. then the 22 new taxes rolled into the health care bill ( like the tanning tax for example) Obama is a liar..
