Uncle Marco: Crist Says Rubio ‘Turned His Back’ on His ‘Hispanic Family’

Florida Senatorial candidate Marco Rubio (R) doesn‘t care about his Hispanic heritage because he’s taken a tough immigration stance. That’s what Independent candidate, former Republican, and current Florida governor Charlie Crist seemed to suggested during a three-person debate Friday night. Not surprisingly, Rubio didn’t appreciate the suggestion.

The Palm Beach Post explains the exchange:

The most heated exchange came during a discussion of immigration when Crist told Rubio that, according to an article in a Tampa weekly publication called La Gaceta, “you turned your back on your Hispanic family” by not supporting immigration reform and the Dream Act.

“We’re all used to hard-knock politics,” Rubio responded, “but that’s quite frankly, governor, offensive and outrageous, for you to talk about me to turn my back on my Hispanic family.”

After Rubio snapped back at the governor, Crist backpedaled by claiming he was only quoting other people’s words. But Rubio gave Crist a lesson in etiquette (”you shouldn’t repeat things like that”) and then set him straight (”let me tell you about my [Cuban-American] family”).

“Not only am I not turning my back on them governor, I am fighting so that my children can inherit the kind of country they worked so hard to leave me,” Rubio said.

Even the Democratic candidate, Kendrick Meek, realized Crist’s remark was inflammatory: “I‘m not one to attack anyone’s family and I’ve chastised … governor Crist on the family attack end.”

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey picks up an the most ironic parts of the exchange:

It’s bad enough playing identity politics when one is of the identity in question. It’s doubly offensive when it comes from someone who shares nothing of the ethnicity they purport to represent. In Crist’s case, though, it qualifies as high satire. Isn’t Crist the candidate that just “turned his back” on the political party he led in this state only because Rubio was kicking his rear end in primary polling, and then spent the next several months reversing almost every policy position he ever held?

Yup.

Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News Judicial Analyst and host of Freedom Watch, says that the time for Texas secession “has come”. The comment came during an interview on the Alex Jones Radio Show on October 7th.

Judge Napolitano was commenting on a recent speech given by Texas Congressman Ron Paul where he indicated that the “revolution” had already begun and that it could likely end up in the dissolution of the United States. These remarks echo those of trendcaster Gerald Celente, Russian analyst Igor Panarin and many others.

“These comments come at a time when the Texas Nationalist Movement is ramping up its efforts to build up a critical mass of active Texans to take the demand for secession to the Texas government,” say President of the Texas Nationalist Movement Daniel Miller.

The Texas Nationalist Movement’s participation in a recent Texas Conservative Coalition event featuring Judge Andrew Napolitano has been the buzz of political circles in Texas.

Miller went on to comment further about the event.

“They know that we are here. They know what we want. Now they have to be shown that enough of us are on the same page. Texas independence must become a reality.”

The entire article can be found at http://www.texasnationalist.com/info/tnm-news/715-napolitano-says-time-for-secession-qhas-comeq

If you aren’t here yet, you might want to consider moving as fast as you can =)

As Davey Crockett said. You can all go to hell, I’m going to Texas!

I received this in an email and thought it was passing around… please copy & paste if you agree

    Remember January 3, 2007

…… I don‘t understand WHY the people running for office don’t say this in their ads!!!

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3, 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.

The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
    At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

    The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

    Remember the day.

January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

    BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco’s!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA.

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie??? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush…
REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Bush may have been in the car, but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving. Set the record straight on Bush!

So, as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their voting record and their party, remember how they didn‘t listen to you when you said you didn’t want all the bailouts, you didn’t want the health care bill, you didn’t want cap and trade, you didn‘t want them to continue spending money we don’t have.

I’m not forgetting their complicity in getting us into this mess, and I’ll be marking my vote accordingly!

“Florida Senatorial candidate Marco Rubio (R) doesn‘t care about his Hispanic heritage because he’s taken a tough immigration stance.”
    *****************************
Rubio has integrity and I’m sure he cares for fellow Hispanics – sometimes you have to give a little “tough love” and be truthful – illegal immigration is a serious problem – it’s a burden on states.

That doesn‘t mean Rubio doesn’t care for Hispanics…he is one for crying out loud! It’s so blatantly obvious that the Left is using this to scare Hispanics into not voting for Rubio – they have to resorted to lies…what next are they going to call him an “uncle Tom” for not taking a more liberal viewpoint?

ANGRYMOB, of course he cares for other “Hispanics” but no more than anyone else. As a fellow Cuban born American, I care about America and freedom. Just because someone speaks Spanish doesn’t place them higher on the list. In all honesty, I know more about my adopted country America than I could possibly ever know about Mexico or countries in South America. The ones that choose to carry Che signs have nothing in common with me, I don’t care what language they speak! If it’s true ( Stossel) that uneducated Mexicans without family here would have to wait 175 years to get in, then I could see why they’re not getting in line ( don’t know if those numbers are true). But breaking the law is just that.

As a Cuban born American who has fought for and represented this great country. My parent scarified long and hard to get in to this country legally. Dad had to endure 18 months in a labor camp and mom did a year in prison merely for putting their names on a list for visas to leave Cuba. Not to say surrendering all their belonging. We arrived in this country with the shirts on our backs.

Just as criminals aren’t allowed to profit from breaking the law ( Writing a book how they broke in to a bank ) Or better yet should I be allowed to move into your home with out your permission and demand you serve me dinner and bedding? Oh yeah pay for my schooling…

Being “Hispanic” doesn’t mean we have to support ILLEGAL immigration. What part of illegal don’t they get? There are many countries where Spanish is spoken. That doesn’t mean we (bilinguals) have to side with what they’re doing in those countries. It’s like assuming that because English is spoken in England, we agree to everything they do. We all know how that worked out during The Revolution. Most Cubans are still conservative despite our children being brainwashed in the universities. It’s common for the left to put individuals into groups. Rubio won’t let them.
