Good morning, tea was delicious this morning (same winter mint), my cat got a nice suprise today, she was getting groomed when a truck backfired and she jumped into the trashcan where I was putting the hair from the grooming brush into. So now I got to see a literal ‘trash can kitty.’
I just pray that the Presidential Protection detail is on the job when some Progressive decides to make the move aginst Obama; we do not need a civil war erupting in this nation.

Beck,Rush,Hannity, and many other credible sources have sounded this warning for over a year, and it’s past time for us to get off our collective butts while we still have one! It’s our time to do some “Nudging”,& “Shoving” before “WE THE PEOPLE” loose control to this “SCUM”! Remember,WE outnumber THEM! “L’audace,l’audace,Toujour l’audace!”

How will anyone be able to strive for a better life when there really will be no profitable private business to employ people?
There is something bigger going on other than just Cloward and Piven, Obama.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 10:46amIf your home is underwater or your home is about equal to your mortgage then the best thing you can do for your family is stop making payments. By doing this you can live for free for the next 3 – 7 yrs. As home prices continue to plunge your savings account will keep increasing – and this will provide security for you and your family – 3 years from now your home will be worth 1/2 what it is now so why make payments?

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 11:21amIt pains me to think this way but Obama has taught me to never let a crisis go to waste – 6 months after Obama was sworn into office my wife was laid off (first time in her life) so seeing what Obama did to the GM bondholders (screwed them) I stopped paying my mortgage and banked the payment instead – today I have $$50+K in savings & hired an attorney. The attorney said here in whacked out liberal Massachusetts I’ll still be living in the home for free for at least 3 more years after they start the foreclosure which means I could have over $200K saved up by not paying the mortgage.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 11:32am@RON….I agree….@2SMART…you make a good point, however. RON is right with regard to being prudent…etc….honorable…etc…however, many of these people were only trying to realize the american dream….many…far too many…are not …were not…sophisiticated enough, relative to finance, and plunged into disaster. RON: If the government had left their noses out of the banking and home owning business….we would NEVER have had a “false valuation run up” like we saw from the year 2000 through 2006. It was abnormal, it was contrived and many people followed along like “sheep” for the slaughter. In that regard I do feel for the misguided even though they are ultimately responsible for their own actions….How were these unsuspecting people to know the values would crash ? As an industry insider, I was worried, and predicted this as early as 2002. I couldn’t make enough cases for “good loans” because I originated, validated and was part of the approval process for mostly “full doc” loans (FHA, VA products). Alas, it happened right before my very eyes and resulted in my own personal financial demise because my livilihood was taken away…I actually had to watch these “professional salespeople” veil themselves as “Loan Officers” with the help of their unscrupulous real estate agent pals….I had the reputation on the street, (with realtors) as being someone that “wouldn’t get the loans done”…..garbage worms…all of them. Yet, I get destroyed along with the rest of them. My point is, these people (homeowners) that @2SMART is referring to actually will have an opportunity, as it turns out, to have time as an advantage….or on their side. The homeowner foreclosure relief act of 2008 provides that banks cannot do anything bu eventually “recapture” the properties in default….they cannot come after you for the “forgiven debt” as long as the home is your primary residence…. In lieu of the whole plethora of facts and factors involved in this crisis, and the mongrels at the top (government / bankers / wall street investment bankers) that are the most “culpable”….I would have to say that I don’t totally agree with you, although there are certainly many homeowners that are “underwater” and are paying their notes anyway…..This is one of the most horrific contrived financial disasters and embezzlement schemes perpetrated on americans …..probably of all time. If you doubt my theory, then you would have to beleive that the morons pulling the strings are just plain stupid….and that’s not likely……

Right on the money. Literally. The only thing I’d like to contribute is a longer timeframe than you used. It only became generally evident in 2000, but this problem began back in the mid-90′s.
I started smelling a rat around ‘95, when interest rates began to be held artificially low, far too low. Many won’t agree with me, but what I noticed was hard savings that couldn’t earn a respectable return in a CD – start flowing into Wall Street products. Check the rise in the Dow vs. the time period – that money had to come from somewhere – and most of it was from mutual funds. Housing became a commodity rather than a residence. House flipping was all the rage, always climbing the scale and depending on your equity to rise faster than inflation.
This bled the cash reserves out of the local and regional banks, and spawned merger-mania. When the targets were all set up properly at that level – then the trigger was pulled.
Wall Street walked off with the savings. The banks finished off their consolidations by force. The consumers were left with upside down assets and little to no nestegg in either cash or securites.
We’ve been harvested like a well groomed crop.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 9:29pmAlthough we are not underwater on our mortgage, we have lost $300,000 in value. We did it the right way and tried to pay all our debts off. I look back now and I am ticked off because the exodus of retirees made off in this deal. They sold their big homes to young families and down-sized to condos, etc. Now here I am holding the bag for their retirement, I am sooo tired of paying out the nose while baby boomers reap the rewards of the messes they make.

Posted on January 8, 2011 at 12:52amIf in the end you do not have your integrity and have screwed someone to live for free – then you are just another part of the problem. If you can’t handle the consequences of your poor investment decisions and blame someone else you and people like you are the problem.

Posted on January 8, 2011 at 5:38pmWyoming – I agree with what you are saying about integrity & I think this whole thing is insane. But in a few months when gas hits $5/gal, milk is $15/gal and your electric bill is $700/month who will be able afford a home? Real estate values are about to go into a death spiral. By not paying my mortgage I’ve got $50K saved up to feed my kids with when the cost of living necessarily skyrockets. But to help rid myself of guilt I do donate $250/month to the tea party because I do want the insanity to end.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 9:14pmI have a friend who has been attempting to purchase a home on short-sale for well over 2 years now. My friend has paid numerous fees for the home, it was going on in circles as certain things expired and needed to be renewed. She was even at the closing table once when the owner came parading in and informed them that he just had 2 new liens put on the home by the IRS. The owner used to be a mortgage broker- he knew the ins and outs. The sick part was, by the time they were ready to close again (cleared up the owners liens) the second mortgage was sold to another bank who decided to renegotiate the sale. Putting my friend at square one…. again. This time my friend backed out, telling the second bank that if they couldn’t accept the terms (already agreed upon), she wanted her money back. The bank decided to list the property with an agent again, and yet has to give my friend her deposit back. I told my friend to call her congressmen and Fox News to let them know what our TARP money is doing.
