Under Siege? Residents Advised to Leave Chicago Property Out of Fear of Violence at NATO Summit

Chicago residents in at least one downtown residential tower have been warned that upcoming NATO summit protests could spark riots and cause major property destruction, forcing their building to take draconian security measures.

Based on protest of similar summits in the past (see photos below), the Chicagoans may be well-advised to be ready for dangerous days ahead. Occupy Wall Street-affiliated protestors have been preparing for the NATO summit for months, and showdowns with the local police appear likely.

At least one Chicago property manager is advising residents to find another place to stay. Those who choose to batten down the hatches and remain will have limited access to their own property, and will not be allowed to have guests under any circumstances.

Similar security measures are likely to be deployed at many downtown Chicago homes as the event approaches. WLSTV has more details:

Armed off duty police officers have also been hired to check identification of everyone coming in and out of this building. According to WLS-TV, “there could be even more limitations once the secret service releases its own security measures closer to NATO weekend.”

“In order to get into the building we need to have ID ready to be prepared for garages not to be accessible,” building resident Ron Pitelka said. “Extra security, which is an extra expense that we are not excited about, that is basically falling on all of the taxpayers.”

Other restrictions, such as a complete ban on moving and limits to garage access, will be enacted by the building’s management. And those with dogs are particularly concerned about when they will be able to safely walk their canine companions.

“I think that this shows the lack of concern about this city period, about the damage that could potentially occur here,” said Pitelka. “All you need to look at is what has happened in the past with the NATO and G8 summits, and the riots going on in the places that they’ve held it.”

It seems the Occupy movement is making a comeback. If you want to read about where this is all going, read Occupy American Spring, the Making of a Revolution.

      @ THIGH

Second Amendment does not apply inside the borders of Chicago, and is EXTREMELY restricted in Illinois as a whole. Chi-town is one of the nastiest Liberal hell-holes in this country in which you are legally denied the right to defend yourself.

If you are in town, I suggest you fort in or bug out. The sj1tstorm is heading your way…

Let the riot squads be like firing squads, have a few with live ammo but nobody knows who, a dead commie is a good commie.
A few dead and they will scatter like the cockroaches they are, they are only brave in mobs or gangs, one on one, cowards.
Get the UN, NATO, G8 Summits out of the US, let them destroy other countries that will have them, they all just cost taxpayers more money.

Back in the 60′s, bill ayers, his wh8re wife, dorn, the SDS, the weathermen, and the black panthers were directing a bunch of lost teenage losers who were more interested in drugs and sex than anything else…so the damage they did was relatively slight.
Today, with dorn and ayers being assisted by the communists, the seiu, afl-cio, the new black panthers, and the white house, the damage is likely to be severe.
I pray that the police and National Guard will do their proper duties and squash the violence with appropriate force…but they may also be under the progressives’ collective thumbs and this could be a really bad summer.

I worry about my daughter. She works downtown. I’ve been warning her for months. I hope she listens. She’s a beautiful, extremely hard working 30 year old that works her butt off to get where she is today. Our troops would be of good use in any of these large cities this May. That’s one place I do approve of tax dollars going to. Stop this now! I don’t see these lazy entitlement minded losers doing much against our troops. They should have set up fenced in camps to put these traitors until trial.

This poses the question of “Do I stand my ground in my home? Or, do I run?”
Since I am not in these residents shoes I can only pray that those that determine staying is the best option for them are secure in their home, as it says in the 4th Amendment.
If we allow these useful idiots to take over then it is only the beginning. They will be emboldened and next time it will be even worse.

This IS the next time. The first occupy debacle was a practice run to find out what limits they were up against. Be prepared for weapons and organized violence against the police. It won’t come to a head until the elections. If bho loses all he11 will break loose. This will give him a reason to shut everything down. He has no intention of leaving the White House, his handlers would never allow it.
Remember, bottom up (occupy…), top down (martial law). None of this is unscripted and coincidental!

Answer: I do, I trust *MOST* police, but not all. The higher up in the pecking order (State, Federal), the less inclined I am to trust them. The Locals and Sheriffs I get along with real well.

I thought it was moved to Camp David. Why would there be riots there? Did I miss something?

There would be an easy solution if the police have guts to do it. I’m sorry if it is your intent to riot, then I think it is appropriate real bullets should be used and announced ahead of time. Forget this rubber bullet crap, it means nothing to these anarchist and just embolden them to act like animals.

If I lived at the complex I think I’d be raising holy hell. My rights are getting limited for a bunch of protestors so they can protest without incident. NO, you get your sorry butts up off your ass and you arrest every freaking one of them if they turn up. They have no right to limit my rights.
