Billionaire investor George Soros said he expects the Republicans to undergo a “miraculous transformation” in favor of a stimulus program if they win the White House in November.

“If the Republicans win actually they‘ll undergo a miraculous transformation where they discover that actually it wouldn’t be so bad if we can afford to have some stimulus,” Soros told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria in an interview that aired Sunday.

“So you think Mitt Romney, if elected, would pursue a stimulus program?” Zakaria asked.

“I think — I’m pretty sure that would happen,” Soros said. “I mean, of course, Obama would like to as well. He may find it more difficult if the Republicans continue to obstruct him.”

Seizing on that, Zakaria asked Soros whether he felt the GOP opposition to more stimulus is “just cynical — they want the economy to stay weak in an election year?”

“Unfortunately, our political system is now not functioning the way it used to in the sense that the political parties are more determined to destroy each other than to lead to a — policies that would benefit the country.”

Sad to say el freako Soros may be right about Romney on the stimulus proffering if Romney got the nomination and then beat Obama, otherwise known as Yo Mama (please excuse my humor, probably not that funny anyhow), meaning there would be little between Romney and Obama, other than one major difference that few want to seem to accept yet – that Obama is a Muslim, and not the touchy feely kind, if there is such a thing.       I do not like Soros, but he speaks a little truth here, and that is political obstructionism is a game both parties play to the detriment of our nation. R‘s and D’s do it.

      This may be reason #1 why we do not vote for any person aligned with a political party. Can we just vote for the best person? A person “owned” by a political party has already abandoned principle in favor of political expediency. Partisan politicians are lapdogs for the powerbrokers.

      You want to take down the elites, one sure way to hit them hard is to do this: vote for independents only.

      Soros feels that Romney is a shoe in at this point and wants to shell shock us with the dissallusionment of having yet another RINO candidate. Soro’s strategy is potentually very effective.
      Putting at least someone like Santorum in, we can vote for someone.
      Romney would of course be a stopgap and we would have to drag him accross the finish line to save our country if he were unfortunately. Romney is the worst candidate still standing.

      Come on, he’s just stating the obvious. If you ask business owners what is hurting them most – and pollsters have! – they don’t talk about regulations or taxes, they say the biggest problem is that their customers aren’t buying their products. Hello! Duh! Businesses are struggling because the customers don’t have the money to buy their products. Godfather‘s pizza doesn’t need a tax break, they need customers with money in their pocket to buy a pizza.

      The original stimulus was 1/3 tax breaks to you and me, money that people like you and me can go spend at Godfather’s Pizza or wherever else, maybe Lowe’s. The rest of the infusion of cash into the economy was to create paying jobs to people who would then be able to buy that pizza from Godfathers. That primes the pump for the economy and gets things going again, as we’ve seen for the last 23 months of job creation.

      You know folks, this is simple stuff, high school economics material. You don’t have to be a billionaire or PhD or economist to understand this, although those people certainly do understand it and well as Republican politicians. Of course Romney, if elected, would be in favor of providing stimulus dollars to Americans and American businesses. All Republicans know this would work, but for now in works their favor politically to keep the economy as bad as possible even if their constituents suffer in the meantime.

    I would completely agree with Soros here. Romney is of the breed that says when you’re not sure about something, go with the elitist, conventional-wisdom prevailing at the time – just like Bush did. Because, these people “must” know better, right? I mean they’ve spent their entire lives in a classroom, a lectern, etc. They’re really “educated”, right? I mean, education trumps inherent intelligence, right???

      If you’re governor of a state, you represent the wishes of the people of that state. This is Kennedy and Kerry country after all. Besides that, Romney had a liberal legislature to deal with. I trust Romney to do what’s best for the country, and that includes getting rid of Obamacare. He has been pretty clear about it. As for a stimulus, for now that’s just Soros trying to get YOU to NOT vote for Romney.

      Interesting article, I suppose but I don’t see anything there that would cause me not to support RP. Especially when the guy, in question, said the following.

      “I am personally not a representative for Dr. Paul nor should my beliefs be construed to be his,” Franchi told msnbc.com. “Nor am I sure if Ron Paul believes in all the issues that concern me, however I do know I stand with him on the constitutional issues he continues to highlight throughout this election cycle and as he has done for over 20 years.”

      Should RP take his money? I guess there’s a case to be for either way. I know I’m not a truther, and as far as I know neither is RP. I don’t know a lot about the NWO, Agenda 21, or what not, though over the past couple of days of looking, I think there’s something fishy going on with the CFR. I’m also not sure about FEMA camps, but I would like to know what the following is.

      I’ve seen that interview before. Malkin’s links are broke btw. I‘ve heard RP say that he doesn’t believe the Bush Admin. had anything to do with the attack. As do I. I’ve also heard our inteligence dept. dropped the ball before hand. Most likely a case of incompotence. I don’t know, boss. Seems conspiracy theories are almost a natural defense mechanism for people these days to deal with the unkown. I do, however, share RP’s distrust of the federal government. I don’t listen to Alex Jones or spend a lot of time browsing Prison Planet. Tbh, I didn’t know who Alex Jones was before I started reading this forum. I just felt something was wrong in my gut. Mainly do to what I can actually see… Brady Bill, Patriot Act, NDAA, etc. Heck, even Glenn Beck said that the Patriot Act was written in the mid 90′s by Biden. There’s just so much crap out there obscuring the truth, which is why I’m so firmly devoted to limiting the power of the federal government. There’s nothing wrong with listening to opposing points of view and considering their validity. Heck, from an agnostic’s point of view, entertaining that the government was involved (which RP doesn’t) isn’t as far fetched as Moses talking to a bush and it talking back. Yet, I respect people who believe that, and wouldn’t hold that against in terms of being an elected official. As long as they act within the confines of the constitution, they could believe in unicorns, fairies, etc…

      We need more than a good president. We need a responsible congress and senate, who actually do their job. I don’t think that will ever happen, unless of course all currently seated representatives were removed and new ones put in. They all talk and complain about each other in public while they sleep together behind the scenes.       Something to be said for that; however, no one is saying how ‘stimulus’, or taking more money out of the private sector and then spending it is going to ‘stimulate’ the economy. Unfortunately the ‘balance sheet’ recession is far from over. tooooo much debt all around; Until that is paid down, not much is going to happen.

      it is impossible to pay back the debt we owe. almost $16 trillion. It will never be repaid, we might as well just declare bankruptcy now and start over.
