Union Protesters Harass Congressman During Press Conference: ‘Go Home!’

Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-VA) is trying to save taxpayers some money. He’s opposed to the more expensive of two proposed Dulles Metrorail stations. He’s also come out against collective bargaining.

That just won’t do for union protesters who, during a Wolf press conference today, interrupted the proceedings with shouts and chants. The Washington Times explains:

Mr. Wolf also is opposed to a collective bargaining agreement the authority’s board included in the Phase II deal that establishes prehiring terms and conditions of employment. Mr. Wolf has said the agreement will result in fewer bids, which will reduce competition and drive up costs.

As a result, dozens of protesters representing labor unions attended the press conference Monday to criticize Mr. Wolf’s stance.

Wolf is the gray-haired man shown to the left of the podium in the video below:

    I bet they are not paid “UNION SCALE” for protesting since it has been proven that these “Union Thugs” have been hired for a pack of cigarettes from the local Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. Since it would be illegal for Union Laborers to picket during working hours and leave a job site and not get paid that high salary. But they also could be layed off “Union” members getting paid to pickett so that they can get their “Union” benefits, there are clauses inside some contracts that say if your laid off you still have to pay your dues at a reduced rate and do things for the Union.

    Where are the water canons when you need them ? Give them a blast of that oh so special mix of H2O and Pricklely Heat (linament) to sooth there aching feet and wonky backs from holding those 1 lb signs for ten minutes………Since when is it OK to disrupt a public meeting like this ? If the Unions have bones to pick they aren’t making it easier on themselves by acting like spolied brats that have had their Xbox privilidges lifted for the evening. If I were that politician the Union’s behaviour would steel my resolve to cut them out of the picture altogether. Surely these fools can see public opinion is beginning to shift in the favor of of the politicians actually trying to do thier jobs while trying to make ends meet. Do these clowns not realize that the only level of Gov’t that can run a deficit is the Federal level ? Time outlaw all union organizing in the public sector…..a massive decertification and firing of the deadwood is in need rather badly.

      I have seen liquid armor being sprayed on vehicles. I expressed to the gunny we could just spray the ragheads in pleace, like glue or mummified *******. His facial expression was priceless. No death or marks, except when they get unglued.

      Meanwhile we can easily question them on who oraganized and paid for their services. Also, verify residency and or prior convictions.

AS someone who has been attending these rallies in favor of what Scott Walker is doing I can tell you that the majority of the people that were ‘bussed in’ where from the union/left. The Tea Party faction was respectful and there with the right intent, while the union/left were harassing, shouting hatred/vulgarities, and trying to stymie free speech. The Tea Partiers had a legal permit – the union/left did not. When the event was over – it was the Tea Party who once again cleaned up after the union/left children who left all their garbage behind! While I know you would like to think that the Tea Party is a small minority and on the decline – you are wrong we are growing everyday as the adults that have common sense and are willing to do what we need to get this country back on the track to freedom!

    That is my rep. I can’t say I approve of his voting record in its entirety, but this project is a huge waste. I have heard that they had to route an underground portion of the new subway line miles around a “possible” Indian burial ground. The WMATA is incredibly irresponsible. Everything from their safety record to their employees going to the bathroom on the tracks.

      Exactly. I was forced to be in a land surveyor’s union years ago. A couple of weeks of classes and my pay tripled. Great for me. The problem is that at the very least, 95% of the other new recruits were virtually brain dead. No exaggeration. I left the union after about a year and never looked back.

      What we need are more and more people speaking out and educating others at every opportunity (locally, in the media, to friends and family who aren’t big libs). We need to educate others about their plans (I.e., Rules for Radicals, The Coming Insurrection, unions/astroturf, etc.) so that they — who still love OUR country — can recognize what’s up when they see it and not freak out. The only way these radical Leftists extremists have any chance is if most people are afraid and confused due to ignorance about what’s really happening. Spread the word.

      The recent pro-union protesters and the national tea parties are exactly the same – and I am very proud of all of these patriotic souls. I agree equally with the FOX and MSNBC pundits who describe them. I think it’s great that the tea party demands that the public respect them and obey their wishes whenever “America speaks” at one of their rallies. And I’m sure they are ready to listen to and carry out the wishes of the pro-union protesters who are just as much “America speaking.”
      In fact, they are representing the will of the country exactly the same by temporarily occupying the public spotlight. It’s quite obvious both factions are patriotic and passionate, and both are quite moral, good-hearted citizens who care about our generations to come. That’s what I think. And I think Congress should treat them both with their due respect, like Senator Scott Brown would.
