University Prof. Sends Vulgar E-Mail to College GOP: ‘Fu** You!’

When the College Republican club at the University of Iowa sent out a university-approved blast e-mail regarding its “Conservative Coming out Week,” one professor took umbrage with it. And she let the group know it with three some simple words: “Fu** You Republicans!”
Ellen Lewin, a professor of Anthropology and Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies in the Department of Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies, was outraged at the club‘s playful rundown of the week’s events, which included a friendly blood drive competition between Rupublicans and Democrats “for a good cause.”
The e-mail, with Lewin’s initial response, is below, via the Iowa Republican (click on the image to see an enlarged version):

Lewin’s response was sent via her official University of Iowa e-mail account and included her official university title in her signature.
“We understand that as a faculty member she has the right to express her political opinion, but by leaving her credentials at the bottom of the email she was representing the University of Iowa, not herself alone,” Natalie Ginty, University of Iowa student and chairwoman of the Iowa Federation of College Republicans, wrote to James Enloe, the head of the Department of Anthropology.
Lewin did offer an apology, but it came with multiple disclaimer:
“This is a time when political passions are inflamed, and when I received your unsolicited email, I had just finished reading some newspaper accounts of fresh outrages committed by Republicans in government. I admit the language was inappropriate, and apologize for any affront to anyone’s delicate sensibilities. I would really appreciate your not sending blanket emails to everyone on campus, especially in these difficult times.”
The Iowa Republican notes that the group did not choose the distribution list, the e-mail was school-sanctioned, and it met the guidelines for mass e-mailings.
Lewin eventually sent another response bashing the GOP’s “general disdain” for LGBT rights:
I should note that several things in the original message were extremely offensive, nearly rising to the level of obscenity. Despite the Republicans’ general disdain for LGBT rights you called your upcoming event “conservative coming out day,” appropriating the language of the LGBT right movement. Your reference to the Wisconsin protests suggested that they were frivolous attempts to avoid work. And the “Animal Rights BBQ” is extremely insensitive to those who consider animal rights an important cause. Then, in the email that Ms. Ginty sent complaining about my language, she referred to me as Ellen, not Professor Lewin, which is the correct way for a student to address a faculty member, or indeed, for anyone to refer to an adult with whom they are not acquainted. I do apologize for my intemperate language, but the message you all sent out was extremely disturbing and offensive.
The controversy prompted a blast e-mail response from University of Iowa President Sally Mason blasting Lewin’s “intolerant and disrespectful discord,“ calling it ”not acceptable behavior:”
Dear Members of the University Community:
The University of Iowa encourages freedom of expression, opposing viewpoints, and civil debate about those opposing viewpoints. This is clearly articulated in our core values of Diversity and Respect. Because diversity, broadly defined, advances its mission of teaching, research, and service, the University is dedicated to an inclusive community in which people of different cultural, national, individual, and academic backgrounds encounter one another in a spirit of cooperation, openness, and shared appreciation.
The University also strongly encourages student engagement in such discussions and supports students acting on their viewpoints. Student organizations are sometimes formed along political lines and act on their political beliefs. Even if we personally disagree with those viewpoints, we must be respectful of those viewpoints in every way. Intolerant and disrespectful discord is not acceptable behavior.

According to the Iowa Republican, Lewin is the author of the books titled, Inventing Lesbian Cultures in America, and Gay Fatherhood: Narratives of Family and Citizenship in America.
Gateway Pundit might have summed it up best: “You’ve gotta love it. She tells them to “f**k off” then lectures them on civility during these ‘difficult times.’”

After further review by professionals, it was determined that Prof. Leven’s sense of humor was incapacitated due to an overdose of socialist programing, and it was recommended that she eat a bar of soap in order to wash her mind from any lingering effects.
The jilted professor has declined further commentary, even upon the fact that those self same republicans are now referring to her as “ lay with me Levin”, yuck !

What is not optional, but should be, is the use of our tax dollars to fund such classes. If she had to be sustained on private dollars only I’ll bet she would be out on the street looking for work. Pretty interesting to hear her tell how this played out thus far. With that hag Ellen Lewin having tenure, the university won‘t do anything about it I’m sure. I live 45 minutes from Iowa City and have been there a number of times over the last 20 years. The majority of the populous in IC have an elitist mentality and Ellen did a really nice job of letting show through in her emails. I hate it when I have to go down there to work and hear some college hack pontificating on the woes of the world and how it can be fixed.

The school can write whatever it wants about it’s mission goal the choice of faculty they chose points to a different mission as a university. It’s is obvious as the nose on your face that they tolerate and I use that word lightly conservative viewpoints and thier idea of diversity is viewpoints from from socialist,to marxist,to communist. Which brings up an interesting issue why is the democrat the blue party when most of their supporters desire a red society. the only issue is what color red social,marxist,or communist red.

I was one of the teachers out there that are actively FIGHTING these useful idiots and their ideology. There are many of us out there! We are the ones that are TRULY teaching our children HOW TO THINK CRITICALLY! I was a Social Studies teacher that actually taught my students about what the Constitution really means. Not some “interpretation”. It wasn’t easy. Some of them actually believed they needed a Law Degree to understand it – until they realized it was written in PLAIN ENGLISH, and is easy enough for a Middle Schooler to not only understand, but also to convey its meaning to others effectively.
Not all teachers are Liberal, Leftist, Communists. Although, a lot are.
Parents! Inform yourselves about what is being taught to your children. It‘s your RIGHT to sit in on a class without informing the teacher you’ll be attending class.
DO IT! GET INVOLVED WITH YOUR CHILD’S EDUCATION!
Do yourselves a favor; read James Clavell’s “A Children’s Story” It will change your life.

When in college the whole campus kept getting mass emails from the “Gay and Lesbian Organiszation.” So dont support them…dont reply…dont read it. Its simple, but these people allow themselves to get offended by so many things it’s hard to keep up with it. Would they burn down a library if there was a book about conservatism in it? Of course not, that would be silly, they’d just burn that book.

Whatever label you want to use for me…. Conservative, Libertarian, Father, Scholar, Professional, Family Man, I don’t care. You live in a world of labels. You wrap yourself up in them. Gay, Lesbian, Transgender.
We are all people, but it is the agenda of the Gay and Lesbian community to force their lifestyle into the faces and sensibilities of those that don’t care to live in those worlds. You choose to live in those worlds. Why is it so important to you for me to accept your choice and your lifestyle? Why do you care what I think?
But you will say, that you don’t care, but then you lash out at those that don‘t support you or who don’t “understand” you. You have convinced yourself that if we only “understood” your world we would accept it. What you don’t understand is that many of us do know people from your Lesbian and Gay community and much of what is in that community is anti-family, against monogomous relationships and is against anyone who doesn’t embrace your lifestyle.
You have made your choice, now quit trying to ram your choice down others’ throats.

Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very Liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other Words; redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the Lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that She was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people She knew. She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends, because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, ‘How is your friend Audrey doing?’ She replied, ‘ Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She‘s always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.’
Her wise father asked his daughter, ‘Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA, and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.’ The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back, ‘That’s a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!’
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, ‘Welcome to The Republican party.’
If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between Republican and Democrat I’m all ears.
If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat..
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
If a conservative reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he’s “offended”.
