He’s about 4-feet tall, but he’s become one of the biggest stars of the Super Bowl.
The “he” is the tiny Darth Vader featured in the Volkswagen Super Bowl ad — a spot we debuted to you last week and that‘s considered by many the big day’s best commercial. Now, the mask has been taken off thanks to the “Today” show and we get to meet the tiny “menace.”
Ladies and gentleman, meet 6-year-old Max Page:
Max is also a medical feel-good story. He was born with a congenital heart defect and uses a pacemaker.

Posted on February 7, 2011 at 1:22pmThis commercial was hilarious! Loved the fact I was able to actually watching enjoy something on TV for a change. You can feel this kids frustration through that mask and that is good acting.
As far as some of you boo-hooing the fact that TheBlaze put this up as news… aren’t you a little tired of hearing about Muslims this, and Islam that?
I hate them too but this was a nice departure from all the camel-jockeys hogging the internet and news wires. At least it wasn’t a video of yet another out-of-work lazy crackhead black guy going postal on someone.

Posted on February 7, 2011 at 1:48pmI generally have a sense of humor, as you may know. And I didn’t take offense, just like doing a nice little riposte at the only “acceptable” racial jokes in society.
Given my druthers I’d open the gates back up by repealing PC and making all jokes open game. But since there’s only one “acceptable” racial joke these days, I kind of like to rub people’s nose in it from time to time. It’s a quirk of mine (and no, I’m not blond). :)
Report Post »harumph
Posted on February 7, 2011 at 3:10pmGhost, interesting collection of toe-heads you sited. The joke is most certainly NOT racial in nature, as blonde hair can be reproduced on people of all skin color. But you go ahead and work that race angle if it feels right. ;-)

BTW this was the best commercial of the game, while cute, is a sad state of affairs, as I watch the commercials and do what I need during the game itself. The quality of commercials is getting worse every year. It seems all the drugs they are using in Hollywood has rotted their brains and they can only steal from comic books….pretty pathetic……

“What the heck does reading the declaration of independence have to do with the Super Bowl?”
Actually, that’s a good question. I’m not entirely certain why they started doing that last year. My only beef, outside of the obvious question you asked, is why they read half of it. If you’re going to do something, do it right, or don’t do it at all.
“Not everything is political…unless, of course, you post a story on Duh Blaze.”
Technically speaking, reading the DOI on television IS a political act that invites political commentary.

Posted on February 7, 2011 at 12:45pm“Most of them are pretty incomprehensible by casual inspection.”
What? They’re clear as crystal. They’re stated in the same language as the actual Declaration, so if that’s not “incomprehensible” then I doubt the complaints would be.
My theory is, and it’s just a theory, they don’t because the complaints are as *relevant* to our government as they were against King George.
