This Depressing Chart Shows How Much New Debt has Been Added Since the Senate Passed a Budget

The Senate Budget Committee Republican staff under Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-AL) on Friday released the following chart:

It has Been 1,200 Days & $5 Trillion in New debt Since the Senate Passed its Last Budget

As the chart clearly shows, it has been a full 1,200 days and $5 trillion in new debt since the Democrat-controlled Senate passed a budget.

“The refusal of the Reid majority to fulfill their legal and moral duty to lay out a financial plan for America proves them unworthy to lead the Senate chamber,” Sen. Sessions said in a statement.

But maybe Sen. Sessions is being a little hard on Sen. Harry Reid (R-NV). After all, how can we expect Reid to focus on something as boring as passing a budget when things like Mitt Romney’s tax returns need to be dealt with?

Does anybody realize the ineptness and unwillingness of this congress to be responsible with your money and the future of the country cost everyone, essentially an extra 40 cents on evry dollar you spend. You are paying income tax, state sales tax and then this hidden 40 % tax, all because we are cowards and keep voting representatives back in that have shown zero courage in addressing the most dangerous domestioc threat to this country, the debt and entitlement black hole that we will all, sooner or later fall in. Are you a brick in the high bulging wall, spoken of in Isaiah? You are if you keep looking to the government to fix our problems. No person or program can fix this country full of immoral, get all you can get, broken people. The government is broken, because the people are broken

Don’t blame the Republicans, all of the bills passed by the House are sent to the Senate and suddenly are not seen again. Part of that is because Nancy the wicked witch has Harry Reid basically buring all those past bills on Harry Reid’s desk never to be seen again. This started when Nancy lost her cherished job as Speaker when the liberals lost the House! This was all over the internet at that time and Nancy still tries to control what‘s happening on someone’s orders–some speculate that is on George Soros orders, but I don’t know that part! But that is why so many of the bills have never appeared in the Senate!

Increased abortion funding so the trash cans don’t go to waste and increased welfare so the people only work when they want and still get fed. Started 4 wars so we could kiss kiss with the Muslim Brotherhood and I hope he will support swimming lessons to the Israelis, so, they’ll at least tread water long enough for us to rescue them, before the Brotherhood finishes them off. I believe that Obama’s and the demos plan is right on course. This is their plan. They know that a direct outright take over of the country would actually backfire on them. This has to be done very slooowly over several decades so people and
New generations will not really notice what’s going on. Thirty years ago when the term PC was introduced I knew something was going on that was not good. I’ve always disliked the whole PC thing. It is nothing but a formula for weeniness and a lot of Reps have fallen under the spell as well. So don’t ever call the opposition stupid! They have learned from history how NOT to overthrow a country. They just have to be calm and soothing and give money and favors out to people in huge numbers. Who do think a group of children would want to live with, parents (Gov) that teaches self reliance and personal responsibility or parents that let them play all day and eat anything at anytime and just run wild and actually PAY them to be that way? If you’ve been raised with no dignity, self respect and have low self esteem you would be CRAZY to vote for someone that wants to put you to work! So don’t ever call the Demos stupid… we’re right on course… for destruction. For that is what they’ve wanted for decades. And it’s happening! People seem to think that Dictators only happen in other countries. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

This is somewhat misleading because nobody can stop Chairman Bernanke from buying all of the U.S. Treasury notes that he wants to (whenever he wants to).

Plus, whenever the Federal Reserve ‘allows’ the people the privilege of using their paper dollars, then they charge interest for that privilege.

If you want to drive down the debt, then stop Chairman Bernanke from counterfeiting more monopoly money that he subsequently uses to buy U.S. Treasuries with.

support for same-sex parents is growing steadily among Americans. A Pew Research Center survey conducted in July and released last week found for the first time that a majority of people surveyed — 52 percent — said that gay men and lesbians should be allowed to adopt children, up from 46 percent in 2008 and 38 percent in 1999.

The shift in public opinion and the simple question — Are you having children? — is nothing short of a marvel to some gay men, perhaps even more so than to lesbians, for whom giving birth has always been an option.

Greg Moore, 62, a retired corporate manager in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shakes his head with wonder when he sees young male couples chattering about their toddlers. That possibility seemed hopelessly out of reach when he and his 74-year-old husband, who have been together for 44 years and married in 2008, dreamed of having children. “Gay people didn’t have kids,” he said wistfully. “Straight people had kids.”

Popular culture is helping rewrite that script. Gay men who have children, or are considering having children, are becoming increasingly visible on network television. In “Modern Family,” the nation’s most popular television show, the couple Mitchell and Cameron considered adopting a second child this past season. In “Scandal,” a new ABC series, a middle-aged White House staff member groused about his partner’s desire to adopt a baby from Ethiopia. And this fall, a new NBC sitcom called “The New No

The debt is due to a large government with incredibly burdensome regulations on small businesses which directly affects Jobs. Businesses cant grow when tax threats are being thrown around and forced healthcare is being pushed down our throats- Its not the governments Job to create Jobs but rather allow a healthy environment to do so and when you spend 5 trillion dollars and impose you don’t have and put the bill on the backs of Americans you think Jobs are going to be created? Y’all may have seen this, but this was done by national review in the wake of how Democrats wanted to burn it all down rather than cutting 39Billion dollars from the budget. Parenthetically, it should be noted how absolutely pathetic the Republicans are in submitting 39 Billion in cuts.

      Why S&P Downgraded the US:

      U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
      Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000
      New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
      National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
Recent [April] budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000

Let’s remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:

      Annual family income: $21,700
      Money the family spent: $38,200
New debt on the credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
      Budget cuts: $385

The falacy here is that if the Senate had passed a budget that these numbers would have been any better. Reid is playing political games because he doesn’t want his name on it. The GOP is playing political games by trying to spin a story that isn’t entirely true.

Remember, the GOP proposed 30B in cuts last year…30B, that’s it. Ridiculous. What’s worse is that the democrats nearly stroked out over it. This is a charade. They are playing stupid games because the problem is so huge that 99% of the people can’t comprehend what 15T in debt means let alone 200T in unfunded liabilities. Yet, we play games with 30B. The whole bunch of these crooks should be tried for theft and criminal negligence.

You’re right. Most people simply can’t fathom how big our national debt – currently at $15.9 Trillion really is. Here’s how I try to blow their mind:

      1. Our national debt is equivalent to borrowing $21.7 MILLION PER DAY — since the birth of Christ.
      or
      2. If we were able to pay $1 MILLION PER MINUTE on our debt, it would take just over 30 years to pay it off — assuming we never borrow another dime and do not owe any interest.

      and here’s my favorite:

If we adopted the one of the GOP’s plan of reducing our budget by $100 Billion dollars over the next 10 years, then how long would it take to pay off the debt? Well, at that rate it would only take 1,590 YEARS to pay off the debt!

What does all of this mean? As long as Demorats and Repulicants are in charge — We Are Screwed!

How is it that there is so little concern? Tax the rich won’t come close to covering all the debt. Is the plan to “abandon free markets in order to save” the country? I suppose wealth belongs only the ruling elite and the politically connected.

You can tax the rich at 100% and it won’t balance the budget. There simply isn’t enough money to do so.

      @forthepeople
I think you misunderstood my post. I was just pointing out that tax the rich will accomplish nothing, and question why the DemoMarxists (and some Repubs) have no concern about the debt.
By the way, I wouldn’t be caught dead watching cnn/msnbc other than to see what the propagandists are up to.

In the old days wasn‘t there the threat of shutting down the government if a budget wasn’t passed? How come the only time that tool was used by BHO was to raise the debt ceiling? Am I missing something?

The deceiver-in-chief aka corrupt lying thug, dingy harry, witch pelosi and the ilk that slobber at their feet all have failed to uphold the oaths of office they took to protect the Constitution and the American citizens. This is treason! Hello, Congress….is there anyone paying attention to this? Hello. Hello. Nothing but silence. Guess they all went home to look for new jobs since they won’t be needed after Nov. 6.

If we aren’t honest then this game is going to keep playing out. GWB and the 108th and 109th republican congresses spent way too much and expanded government and didn’t pass balanced budgets. They are like arsenic vs cyanide. Both will kill you but one is faster than the other. The fate is exactly the same.

The Obstructionist tactics of Reid and Obama are self evident; in having continuing resolutions instead of a budget, allows them to keep hounding and accusing the Republicans falsely, and to keep from having to commit on a vote to what they will stand for. It is all a portion of their plans to keep in power and to control the nation until we pass over the cliff.

Remember, the leadership of the Democratic party declared they would see the national economy collapse before they pass power over to the Republicans. Believe the threat – its called scorched earth.

Amazing when the words of someone are ignored. Reminds me of our reaction to the Muslim Brotherhood and their radical leaders.
