Up to 20,000 Muslims Expected to Participate in Mass Prayer & Pro-Islamic Events During the Dem Convention

Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs Plans DNC Centric EventsBureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), a non-profit that handles Islamic affairs, is planning “Jumah at the DNC,” a series of events that will coincide with the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this September. Through the three-day affair, prayer, an Islamic issues conferences, a cultural festival and more will unfold.

While the events are clearly geared toward Islamic adherents, Jibril Hough, a Muslim activist and a spokesperson for the group, said that everyone is invited to attend. According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Hough claims that the group expects up to 20,000 Muslims to attend the celebratory happenings.

Among the happenings will be a Friday prayer ritual — the jummah — which will likely be attended and performed by thousands of Muslims.

Naturally, many may wonder why these events are unfolding. According to Hough, the three-day initiative is being held to hold political parties accountable and to address the issues that impact Muslim-Americans. And what are these issues, you ask? The Patriot Act, the National Defense Authorization Act, and the New York Police Department’s wiretapping program that has enraged many Muslims, among others.

Muslim leaders claim that they will address the “American Muslim plight” throughout “Jumah at the DNC.”  A “protocol” document present on the group’s web site explains the reason for the efforts and for choosing the location:

BIMA’s purpose in rallying large numbers of Muslims to participate in this event, Jumah at the DNC, is to make the general public aware that the Muslim community is a healthy and vibrant component to the American society. Being that these events will occur between August 31st and September 3rd; which happens to be the Labor Day weekend, we felt that it would be most convenient for Muslims to be able to travel without being inhibited by their work schedules and other obligatory duties. Also it is the best time for Muslims to capture national and international attention.

This platform is non-political and non-partisan; meaning that it is not an endorsement of any political candidate or elected official. It is intended to address the concerns and issues that are challenging to the American Muslim citizens in the 21st century. It is mandatory that concerned Muslims stand up for their Constitutional and Human Rights and repel the outright injustices that are being perpetuated against the American Muslim Community. This single complaint is characteristic of the many grievances that have transpired in this nation when bad government has infringed upon the rights of its citizens. But if we continue to remain silent on these issues or confront them on divided fronts we will continue to be ineffective in getting our rights as citizens of America acknowledged.

This initiative seems to showcase the fact that many Muslims — or at least those planning the BIMA event — feel that Democrats may be more in-tune with the issues that are important to them.

While the Journal reports that their main goal is holding political parties accountable (and the above video shows that they aren’t ardent Democratic supporters by any means), one wonders if adherents and planners see a more symptomatic ears on the left.

After all, their planned presence at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, will come with much less fanfare. Currently, it isn‘t being promoted prominently on the group’s web site.

      I don‘t even know if you can call them indeginious it’s always been my understanding that it is beleived that what we call Native Amercians crossed the ice bridge formed between Asia and North America. IF you believe in evoulution there is no such thing as Native Americans since evoulution tracks us back to Africa.

      I’m curious why you failed to mention how the Spainards treated these same people. I don’t think they were always speaking spanish. You also fail to mention that Indians were fighting eachother for land well before the Europeans showed up.

      There is no such thing as a peaceful muslim. I work with a man who grew up in Iran as a muslim and converted to Christianity and became a member of the US Army as a career. He left because no decent man could worship a person who had sex with 9 year old girls .. among other things. He states that the media covers up the truth and states that all muslims want to do is kill non believers according to their scripture. Muslims are evil and there is not a single one, given the chance, that would hesitate to cut the throat of those who do not believe what they do. The battle is coming.     These are the REAL problem in America today. They work hand in glove with socialists but the are the worst of the two. Put them together, which they are , and we have a major problem.

    They do not want freedom, they want to take ours. They want one religeon……theirs. They will either subjugate you or kill you. Period.

    Search the web, check out Europe and Great Britain, Australia. Hell, even the Buddists are fighting back against Islam.

    Islam is a scourge. It needs beaten downand sent packing. Don’t let them fool you into thinking they are victims. They are not.       Here in Phoenix an Islamic group put out a Yellow Pages directory full of Arab good and services. They had a world map on one page, and where Israel is on the map, they had only “Palestine.” When asked why Israel was not shown on the map, the answer was that they had to take into account the realities of the situation, or some such weasel words.

      Why don’t American Muslims speak out against terrorism? Why don’t they demonstrate outside the Iranian embassy and organize giant Muslim peace rallys? Has there EVER been an anti-Taliban demonstration by Muslims, ANYWHERE? If not, why not?

    It’s quite the opposite that Dems are more favorable toward their group. The issues they bring up (e.g., NDAA) are supported by the non-constitutionalists, both left and right. Only 3 votes were cast against the NDAA. 3!!!!!! The Dems are taking away your rights at record speed, while your watching Jeopardy. Drones, warrantless wiretaps, gps tracking in phones, internet spying, the new installation in Utah to gather domestic intel, Homeland, ad nauseum. What’s next? Muslims are at the center of this. I would think they would grab onto our Constitution with both hands. Muslims have more freedom in this country than any other country in the world and they are still not satisfied. How does Shiria come into calculus? An honest answer from the Muslims would not be favorable to their freedom or rights.

    Next is NoBamaCAIR: last year in England, with their govt. healthcare, over 130,000 seniors were legally euthanasiaed (sic) because of budget restraints. Something Raul Manual, NoBama’s buddy, is a strong proponent of, and has already completed studies for NoBama on this very subject.

They’ve been slipping in for years and only recently have we figured out what their doing! People look at the gas stations that are owned by muslims, the chairing done at University’s and whats happening their. Why would muslims build a 45,000 sq ft mosques when they only have 200 families?     This is very troubling to me as an American, as a Christian, who looks beyond the seas to the countries who are Islamic and murdering those who do not conform to their religious laws…we have even seen honor killings here in the United States. This is what is disturbing…these DNC Muslims, who have been watered and encouraged by a president supposedly of ALL the people, will one day turn on the electorate, just as the marxists/communists will as well…it will be sure destruction of our way of life as we know it, is there any question of that?
