After Senate Rejects House Debt Bill, Boehner Delivers Fiery ‘We’re Broke’ Debt Speech

Senate Rejects Cut, Cap and Balance, Furious Boehner Says Were Broke

While the House-passed Cut, Cap and Balance Act was rejected by the Senate Friday, House Speaker John Boehner is reportedly furious at D.C. politicians who “can’t stop spending.”

As the clock ticks down to the President’s August 3 deadline to make a deal on the debt crisis, an impassioned Boehner spoke on the House floor,  saying, “Listen, we’re broke. And, we need to stop the out of control spending spree in Washington, D.C.”

Watch the House Speaker deliver his stern words for Democrats below. From the sound of it, this certainly doesn’t seem to be a man who is anywhere close to reaching a compromise.

      I agree i have been waiting for the Speaker to get angry,I listen to Rep. Gohmert from Texas deliver his speech,and i thought he did an wonderfull job,critizing the Democrats and Harry Reid,he then read the names of all those that voted against the bill,I pray the republicans don’t back down,call Obama bluff,and isn’t there enough evidence on Obama to start impeachment procedings? but i realize God is in control,pleae people pray that Obama is booted out of the White House

      I think Boehner is tired of Obama and finally knows how weak Obama really is. Give him a chance. The Republicans know (I hope) they were elected for one thing only. To stop the crazy spending and power grabs going on in Washington. If you are upset with your Rep., write them, email them, call them. They are YOUR servant.
      Obama is too, but he doesn’t seem to know it. He actually said it would be easier if he could just pass the law by himself. Who does he think he is, a king?

      Well we will just about be able to guaratee to make it easier for him because there will be a LOT LESS of the liberal wackos and RINO’s around after 2012 for him to have to face.       I love how Obama lies about how the Republican CC&B would cut SS & Veteran benefits, when the fact is that, out of $X of cuts, Obama and the Dems would THEMSELVES CHOOSE to cut SS & Veteran’s benefits, rather than slash things like the NEA, the Dept of Ed, the EPA, and Obamacare.

      Obama and the Progressives are determined to stick with Cloward & Piven tactics, and keep the spending spigot jammed wide open until they get an economic collapse. They are desperate, as they well know they will get voted out in 2012, and this is their best chance to achieve the collapse they seek to spur on civil unrest and with that provide the opening to suspend the current government, declare Martial Law, and seize total control of the country before they no longer have the power.

    The way DC operates, either way we are broke today or tomorrow. No difference. The Modus Operandi has to change. Just like Ron Paul says. Shut down half of the bureaucracies. Go to a consumption tax. Let the people be free to innovate. Dramatically downsize the Federal governments role, just like it was originally intended: THEN and only then will we able to get back into the financial black and into unsurpassed greatness. We have to bring back TREASON as a punishable by death, crime….so the advent of an Obama never rises again. Obama is Americas JUDAS.

      This could just be Boehner posturing before he caves. Boehner likes to make the grand gesture so everyone thinks he’s doing the right and true American thing; then, he throws America under the BHO bus.

      Boehner’s chosen to go into those dark backroom “negotiations” with the sociopath potus. Boehner should have declined and stood firm out in the open and in the light on behalf of America. Boehner doesn’t have the BackBone to draw the line and force BHO to cross it. Boehner doesn‘t have the smarts and integrity to know ya don’t negotiate with terrorists and lying sociopaths.

We knew we couldn’t afford it, yet they passed that piece of legislation in some of the most underhanded ways America has ever seen! Right now, they are holding the American People hostage. They want a deal before Aug 2, but they don’t want just ANY deal. They want things done their way or else they don’t send out SS checks. Repubs have done their jobs. I think it’s time the dems did theirs. If they had, we wouldn’t be in this mess. They had control over Congress. They waited this long so there would be a ‘crisis’ and we’d feel forced to do whatever they say.     His performance on Rush yesterday almost made me sick to my stomach! Rush is basically asking him why he is negotiating against him self (since the Marxist hasn’t submitted a plan) and Johnny simply says he’s going to do what a responsible American should do – or in this case your average politician – and kick the can down the road for somebody else to worry about.

    I’m furious that anybody would try to hoodwink us like this. He’s the damned fool that flat-out knew this deal wasn’t going to pass and that we needed a back-up plan, so why is he “furious”???

      To think that the people paid into ss all there life and have it coming. guess what if you divide every dime you and your employer put in by what your monthly ss check amount is you most likely get it all back in less than 5 years not the 20 to 30 years people live on ss. With my parents it was 2 1/2 years. The money is not there just because you reach the age of 65 the rest of the tax payer don’t owe you a retirement. Sorry just the facts.

      if the checks do not go out – it is politics – the money is there as is the money to pay for most everything the government is obliged to pay – what there isn’t, and the “NEED” to raise the debt ceiling, there isn’t the money for additional spending – like on a war with Libya that still has not received Congressional approval – for that alone – Obama should be impeached. and watch and see, if the checks don’t go out – Obama will point the finger at tax cheat Geithner as the culprit. But, in spite of my feelings about tax cheat Geithner – I think he will push the button and send the money – He’ll be a goner in any case. If he do send them when Obama says no – he’ll be fired – if he don’t send them when the money is there – Congress will call him to heel.

      Exrepublisheep, you obviously dont understand the basis of the bill. You dont understand the reason behind the need for a constitutional amendment. The original Constitution does not include a passage talking about the need for a balanced budget in it because at the time it was written people had a sence of respect and had morals. So they werent going to spend the money that not only isnt theirs but also they didnt have (EX. sending us into debt). The reason for the amendment (which obviously if the founding fathers put the process in there then they realized we would have things that needed to be added, due to the ignorace/arogance/stupidity of people, they never claimed the constitution was perfect) is so that the government is REQUIRED to balance to budget and that cuts HAD to be made. Government has been promising the people cuts for a long time now, heck government promises a lot, but they never keep those promises. Thus the reason we NEED a Constitutional amendment. So in reality to read your post and take what you said litteraly you would be saying that cutting the budget when we continue to increase our debt and balancing the the Federal budget (which many states already have to do) is unconstitutional. If this is unconstitutional please explain how.

      America is the Titanic. Former speaker Pelosi built the monstrosity. Harry Reid and the Senate dems have constructed the iceberg. Obama is the Captain and purposely steering the ship towards that iceberg. Speaker Boehner is manning the radio room and has fallen asleep. Wall Street has locked all the steerage passengers below deck, and the House Tea Party Caucus is the stubborn band playing to the bitter end.
