Update: Christie Changes Course, Reimburses State for Helicopter FlightsTRENTON, N.J. (The Blaze/AP) — Yesterday, we reported on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s private use of a police helicopter and limo.

Now, a spokeswoman for the governor says the governor and State Republican Committee are reimbursing the state for all personal use of a state police helicopter, which includes two trips to watch his oldest son’s baseball games.

Spokeswoman Maria Comella says Christie has paid $2,251 to the state to cover the cost of all trips.

Comella also says the state GOP has paid $919 to cover the cost of Christie’s trip Tuesday when used the helicopter to fly 75 miles from a game in Montvale to Princeton to take meeting with a group of top GOP campaign contributors from Iowa.

On Wednesday, a spokesman for the first-term GOP governor said he wouldn’t reimburse the state.

If he were a Democrat he could take the thing home with him or even lend it out to the unions.
What a bunch of crap. If this is the best they can do to diminish this guy, I’m on board with him more than ever now.

I don’t understand WHY? I would not have just because ‘THEY” pitched a fit. Maybe now you will see that New Jersey is not WORTH saving so you can leave and help straighten out the COUNTRY. We would appreicate you. We are accostomed to someone that ABUSES a “FLEET of AIRCRAFT” constantly that cost MILLIONS AND MILLIONS FOR 2 AF1′S, THE FIGHER PLANES THAT HAVE TO GO ALSO AND THE EXTRA SECURITY to go on dates, photo ops, to fly oversees and TRASH THE USA, to go pick up the PEACE PRIZE and now to campaign.WE would be glad to pay for the use of a Helicoptor to fly a few miles since it was going to be flown anyway for pilots to log in their hours.WE the taxpayers are having to furnish and pay for OUR KING OF INCOMPETENCE to fly around the Country now to Campaign, I THINK IF THE COUNTRY IS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR HIM TO CAMPAIGN WE SHOULD AT LEAST MAKE IT FAIR AND PAY OR THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE TO FLY ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TO CAMPAIGN ALSO. The DNC should be picking up the cost of Campaign trips since they are the ONLY ones that want him elected.

Pilots are required to fly so many hours on patrol and to remain current on their certification so the flight hours are logged even if there is no emergency to go to. Christie was simply hitching a ride but I’m glad he has decided to reimburse the state anyway to shut up the looney left.

Hey, Chris Christie is not what everyone thinks he is. He is certainly not what a Conservative would want as a president. This helicopter thing is a serious lapse of judgement. The first order of business of any person intrusted by the public is to not only refrain in engaging in bad behavior, but also steering clear of the appearance of bad behavior. A novice would have not touched this with a 50 foot pole. Now someone who is a tad bit full of themselves might see nothing wrong with it.

OH and that date in NY with Michelle and oh the trip to Spain, with 100′s of employees and countless other useless trips! This man has been on a perpetual vacation since going into office,,, he is always a day late and a dollar short when it comes to American’s.. Good for you Gov. Christie. Doing the right thing for the people of New Jersey, repaying for use of state property.

Now if we can only get BHO and MOOCHELLE to repay the federal treasury for their vacations in Florida and Maine (Special plane for their dog) and have Moochelle repay the cost of her extravagant visit to London, while shopping and entertaining friends, the country might be a little more receptive. Nancy Polosi also could repay the difference in the costs incurred when she demanded a bigger plane to transport her between Washington and her home.
