Update: Christie Responds to Iowa Donors Who Want Him to Run — ‘I Just Don’t Want to Do It’

Update: Christie Responds to Iowa Donors Who Want Him to Run I Just Dont Want to Do It

Radio personality Chris Stigall hosted NJ Gov. Chris Christie on his Philadelphia show today—and the inevitable question of 2012 came up. Namely: will Christie run?

“I’m a kid from Jersey who has people asking him to run for president. I’m thrilled by it,” Christie told Stigall.

But, Christie said, “I just don’t want to do it.” He added, “I’m not there right now.”

According to Mediaite:

While Christie has only been in office since January of 2010, the presidential talk has been going for a while, sometimes stoked by the man himself. However, he’s also been clear that he doesn’t want to run. So eyebrows were raised when it came out that big Iowa donors were meeting with the Governor at the end of May to persuade him to run. However, while Christie will meet with them, he has no intention of changing his mind.

Leave Christi alone. He doesn’t want to do it, so it wouldn’t do him any good to run. As anyone knows that if your heart isn’t in something, then you are going to do only halfway. As Republican’s we need to decide now on at three of the ones that are going to run then pick the best of the three. So we can get them ready to take on Obama. Because if we don’t have a strong candidate to run against Obama we aer going to have 4 more years of this whackjob. I don’t see America surviving 4 more years of Democrats.

No one is hungrier for a good Conservative candidate than me, but none of the potentials have the experience. Worse, the Pubs are an old-boy network that in in no way Conservative, they remain a party of the status quo that insulates them in power. It seems the party picks a candidate by who is next in line to run. That’s how we got Dole and later McCain.

The White House is a nice thing to have, like rear-view mirrors on a fighter jet. But it’s not the end-all and be-all. The real power for We the People is vested in the state houses, governorships, and Congress. I think that is where we need to play the hardest.

I lean toward the view that Christie and and West remain where they are, because they’re new to the scene and are most effective for this moment. Let them cut their teeth, being groomed over time for something bigger. We also need, I believe, to get rid of RINOs–send up good Conservatives in primaries against elitists like McCain. Remove the old guard, put in Constitutionalists where it best counts, and work from there.

    Just some general ideas…

Yes I agree. While he did commute Brian Aitken’s sentence for “illegal” gun possession, he also supported the firing of the New Jersey Transit worker who burned the Koran on his own time at a Ground Zero mosque protest.

Also, he’s a lawyer. They are *trained* to sound good. We’ve got a lawyer in the Oval Office right now. How’s that working out?

I like him a lot as a person, and it would be interesting to have a fat president again but I don’t think he is any better a candidate than Mitt Romney for example. They’re both right on some issues and wrong on some issues.

Nope. I heard his general explanation, and it sucks. I REFUSE to support anyone who is in any way, shape or form affiliated with or part of a commie org. Listen, friend, I think you are going about this backwards. Wouldn’t it be better to research the CBC first, and then decide whether you would support anybody who joined that org? For example, I wouldn‘t need to hear a candidate’s explanation as to why he joined the KKK. No point.

Soon after Obum rose to power, the CBC got on a plane and headed to Cuba. They came back praising Castro, and I listened to their commie talk until I wanted to retch. It’s not that Obum made them do it; it’s just that they were FINALLY free to come out of the commie closet.

West wins the election and soon after, he joins the CBC. He can explain it away all he wants and you can believe it, but then don‘t criticize Dims for refusing to see the truth about Obum’s associations either. If anything, West‘s actions should tell you that he hasn’t distanced himself from the black political community, which is essentially radicalized. I like the man, but I no longer trust him. Team him up with West, Santorum (political attack dog) or Rep Tom McClintock (Ca). This next election is not a contest. It’s a war. It’s not between right or left but right and wrong!
