In a special message from the historic Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, Glenn Beck gave his fans a little more information about why he’s there. And while he did not reveal anything concrete, he did say that he and his team are “planning on something that we will talk to you about soon.”
In the intimate video, a contemplative Beck explained that we are all on the cusp of something big:
“The world has an historic opportunity, before the madness begins, before things get out of control, before the world decides to move in one direction. I thought it was for me personally important and I think for the whole world to take a look at themselves an what they believe and what they know to be true and where we’re headed. Times of courage and compassion are needed. And the best things is, is that I know that’s who Americans are. We’ve always been home of the brave, but also a people of great and tremendous compassion.”
“This can be our day,” he added, a day “that we again lead the world into light as opposed to darkness.”
“Join us on a journey here inĀ the next couple months that will take you to places that you can only imagine.”
You can listen to the full message below:
But Glenn‘s message to readers wasn’t limited to a video. He also addressed his Israel trip on radio today. During the show, he said that his traveling to the Holy Land is partly motivated by how successful Israel is as a Middle East democracy. He explains why below:
In addition to the video and radio messages, Glenn has posted some pictures from day two of his trip.
There’s him at the tomb…:
…and Woodrow Wilson haunting him:

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 5:05pmWe need to support Israel during this time. If we read our Bible, we understand that those that support Israel will be victorious in the end. Times will be tough before that happens. It is time to stand up and be counted in this important time in history.

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 7:44pmI am a Christian, and I would like to know where the Bible says anything about supporting Jews.Jews do not believe in Jesus as the Christ of God, and they will not be saved, the Lord said the only way to the Father is through Jesus, and the jews do not believe in Jesus, FACT show me your scriptures, and this man who says Jesus was just a guy, he will hope one day that this Guy was on his side, but he will not be, He does not believe in him, There are all kinds of Churches and they are all wrong except ONE The Lord said he would build his Church not a bunch of different kinds, that teach all different kinds of doctrines, Look at the name of his people ( The Church of Christ) NOT OF MEN, there is only one YOU JUST NEED TO STUDY looks to me like we have a bunch of athist commenting, but they are intittled to there belife, but they have to die with it to, The Fool has said in his heart there is No God.

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 8:43pmCatfish, you seem to be saying that Jews are unsaved and therefore do not deserve Christian support. I would submit that what you describe is very unChristian. If you want scriptures of Jesus saying we should support non-Christians, here’s a few:
“And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part.” (Mark 9:38-40)
“Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matt. 25:40)
“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matt. 22:39)

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 8:49pm@Catfish- Read the Old Testament, it is full of promises to the House of Israel. The book of Isaiah is full of them. For starters, read Isaiah Ch. 60, also Ch .66, also Joel Ch. 3. (In the King James Version, as new fangled versions of the Bible have lost so much in their effort to be easily understood). The Lord hasn’t forgotten His covenants with the House of Israel. He will help them thru others, and eventually they will know Him as the Messiah they have longed for.

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 4:54pmI believe that the US has become so fragmented that we do not have a common identity. It will not be enough for an event to unify us. Glenn is arguing for connecting at a level of reason that includes faith in something. I wonder what our faith will be? It does not seem to be a faith in the future of the US as we have known it. It does not seem to be some universal god with a promise of eternal peace. Glenn seems to be asking us to think of what we want to believe in as the easy times come to an end.

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 4:36pmI doubt if anyone knows where the actual tomb is (if it even still exists); God is not big on shrines. The important thing is that Jesus’ incarnate body was resident in it for only three days and nights; He is now seated on the right hand of God the Father, performing as the one and only Great High Priest interceding continually on behalf of His Elect to the Father.
Report Post »Eliasim
Posted on May 10, 2011 at 5:10pmNo. Jesus said he would rebuild “This” temple, and he was talking about his body, not his skin and bones, but his soul. That‘s why at first they didn’t recognize Jesus when he was first risen.

Posted on May 10, 2011 at 5:12pmThe Church of the Holy Speulchre has been around since the 4th century. It seems hardly likely that the Christians living there would not know where the tomb was. Posted on May 10, 2011 at 4:36pmHaving been to both the Garden Tomb and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher I can say that even though the Garden Tomb is not thought to be the tomb of Jesus, if you want to be quiet with your thoughts and ponder the significance of the Empty Tomb you can only do that at the Garden Tomb. Both times I’ve been to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher it was very noisy. The place isn’t as important as the event.
Report Post »Redwine
Posted on May 10, 2011 at 5:06pmI’ve been to the Holy Sepulcre probably a dozen times. The church is “noisy” because it is partitioned out to various Christian denominations, so you have different rites, such as Roman Catholic, Anglican and Eastern Orthodox, going on at the same time or at different times in different areas. What I always loved was going up on the roof where there are monks’ huts, now housing Ethiopian Orthodox monks. A few years ago they had a tiny shop with Ethiopian crafts up there. I still have a beautiful woven box I bought there. It’s a fantastic place, so full of history.

They all STRONGLY believed in what they were ascribing to, and they were all DEAD wrong in their beliefs. And they thought they were doing RIGHT by their fellow man too!
I can’t buy into the theory of “It doesn’t matter what you believe…” You better hope and PRAY that what YOU believe in is the Truth, as Truth is NOT relative.
It’s either right or wrong.
Jesus said: “I am The Way, The TRUTH, and The Life. No man comes to the Father but by me.”

If only all faiths quit proselytizing and could be happy, as individuals, with their supposed knowledge and their supposed one-way ticket to paradise. But they don’t work that way….they want power in this world over this life. The afterlife is a prop to those means.
But if they can do proselytize then so can we non-believers.

I wonder why you think those of us who believe God created this universe are less in awe of it than you.
Let us simply look at the art created when faith was overwhelmingly dominant and then compare it to the art produced when atheism has become more tolerated, respected and even dominant in some quarters. Tell me, which period of art shows the greater appreciation for beauty? To wonder implies a loveand appreciation for what is seen. I see less love of beauty, and thus less wonder in the art of the 20th century than in thart of the centuries before Darwin.

Here’s someone who “has a lock” on reality. He knows everything, and if you disagree with him, you’re obviously a fool. He’s totally convinced he knows more than anyone else reading this message. He’s doubly convinced that anyone who believes is incapable of logical reasoning. He’s positive that believers are incapable of understanding science, much less “believing” in science.
I wonder if he has any background whatsoever, beyond the basic 3rd grade science most people get in school? Does he have a clue there are 4 states of matter? Does he understand how to balance a chemical equation? Does he know that the law of entropy leads to balance, and not to decay, as so many foolish academics believe?
Could Mr. Butcher (or any of the other trolls here) calculate the distance required to accelerate their own automobile from 0 – 60 if their lives depended on it? Most importantly, if they bothered to learn, to understand, might that understanding bring them back to a belief that there’s so much order in the universe, so much pattern, there must’ve been intelligence in the design?

Are you saying that it is religion that makes a Jew a Jew? That’s not the rule that Israel uses. For them Jewishness is basically one of ancestry, though they do allow for religion when it comes to religious converts to Judaism. But since they accept Buddhists and Atheists as Jews if they have the ancestry that blows the whole into any idea that it is Judasim that makes a Jew.

Devotional painting, to me, is far less superior to devotional writing, music and architicture. This is a matter of subjective taste, though.
But comparing art from different epochs in different centuries and drawing a corrolation between the religious motivations of one and its “superior” art against another with its less superior art and waning religiosity is a slippery argument for you to make. Do you really mean to suggest the corollary; that the dark ages were better than modern day in, say, governance, human rights and science as well? Do you not know that many artists risked excommunication and even death if they produced art that rubbed the clergy the wrong way? Surely, you’d prefer bad art and individual freedom rather than another michalangelo and the divine right of kings, right?.
I’d like to also state that art from the last century has been quite good. In painting from Picasso to Pollock. In literature, from Kafka to Orwell to Hemingway to Bukowski. In painting from Tin Pan Alley to Rock and Roll to Tom Waits. Clearly, the art of the last century is nothing to scoff at and write off as worthlessly uninspired. But I do understand the religious minds dislike of these things. Their grasp on power is breaking and anything associated with promoting that break is a threat.
But I got you in this argument.
cheers

Perhaps, if you had read what I was responding to, you would have caught the pathos in my first post. But still your reaction reveals much: why no outrage at the christians who want to convert the jews? I trust you know the history of christian hatred of jews and the book of matthews charge of deicide? How does the old hymn go???
Though the Blood betrayed and spilt,
On the race entailed a doom,
Let its virtue cleanse the guilt,
Melt the hardness, chase the gloom;
Lift the veil from off their heart,
Make them Israelites indeed,
Meet once more for lot and part
With Thy household’s genuine seed
That is what is happening here. If you don’t see it, you’re a damned fool.

Wow, my friend, you sound like the biggest idiot on the blog, and you give Christians at large a bad name. Isn’t it funny how the word “cult” is always thrown around as sort of the win-all word for a religious debate. If another person’s faith differs from yours, then it must be a cult. Boom! Winning, right? Or, you just look like an ignorant D-bag. How is Christianity not a cult then?….it has all the makings. A charismatic leader, a break from tradition, an ardent group of devotees, etc. The word itself is derived from the word for “culture”, but people nowadays love to toss it around whenever some religious situation “doesn’t feel right”. People are insecure and they want to be right; therefore if it threatens what they believe, then they must quickly label it something that they’ve been taught is supposed to represent nastiness and corruption.
Who even said that the Book of Mormon adds to the Bible, sir? It’s a completely separate record of a separate people. The LDS Church has not infused the B of M into the Bible. The two are separate pieces of scripture that testify of the same great truth in Jesus Christ. Then you say, “Mormonism and Islam are the same.” I just wanted to put that quote from you up there to highlight your idiocy. I find that highly debateable. I have never found Picasso or Pollock to be beautiful or powerful. Art that has to be explained by critics is really just a bunch of crap, in my opinion. Art should be immediately appreciable. I find art lacking on almost all fronts in comparison to what came before. There are SOME bright spots, but the trends of Dadism, Cubism, Atonality, Minimalism, are all so souless and bleak. And let’s not speak of Warhol. Or maybe we should. A man who literally pees on his canvass is a man who perhaps knew the truth about modern art and cynically exploited it.
As for whether I would trade liberty for better art, that’s a more complicated question than you think. They aren’t from epochs with no historical connection. There is a causal connection between the age of cathedrals and the Enlightenment. The seeds of the politics you and I admire were laid in the days when faith was dominant. There would be no U.S Constitution without the Magna Carta or the Reformation. You cannot so easily separate yourself from your past. The past is what shaped us. Why did the Enlightenment happen in Christian Europe and not Hindu India, or the Muslim Orient, or Confusian China?
Why also, when post Christian Europe is distancing itself from its former faith, do western nations find it difficult to defend western freedom against the encroachment of Islam? The west no longer knows what i

ok, I’ll give you the visual arts. they have declined. but that has more to do with TV than it does with religion.
But music and literature, I insist, are in full form and are quite good (if you know where to find it.)
As to europe and islam—I think the west is winning. Islam needs to be “civilized”. That doesnt happen over night. But all this uproar in the press over the small protests over bin ladins death in london when compared to the massive crowds at the royal wedding just a few days prior in the same city needs to be noted. Please, Sir, look at the big picture.
We american atheists dislike organized islam more than we do christianity. But islamist are not as threatening in our homeland as over-reacting christians who wouldn’t mind one more go at the crusades and/or bringing on the “end times.” Understand this.

That is also why people that lived before Jesus will be saved because of their faith in God’s Messiah.
I want to thank you guys for opening that up and asking about it. May God bless you as you are still reaching out for Him. I love how you know history and what the “scholars” say so well that the case is closed and there’s no room for tradition to be in error….how refreshing! Jesus’ body was laid on the right side from the entrance chamber, not behind it as was the general rule (Mark 16:5). Any debates trying to downplay the significance of the Garden Tomb have not held sway. Neither one can be proven to be the place, but my argument is not necessarily in favor of one or the other. I‘m just saying that you’re wrong when you say the case is closed. I imagine from your obstinate stance, as well as your thumbnail, that you are probably of Catholic tradition. The angels told the silly people that they were looking in the wrong spot then and silly people are still looking in the wrong spot today. Jesus was not born on Christmas day and He never made mention in His Word when He was born, we are to be following Him.
Jesus is alive and if you knew that you would not be trying to make yourself feel better by lashing out at me.
Let the dead bury their dead. He meant those that are spiritually dead will stay there until they answer and heed the call from within, the still small voice.

Israel is the roots of our Christian background, and for a free country, we are modern Israel made real by the will of God for His purposes. The people of each country will be the deciders of our respective futures…our country can be returned to her true roots, if we all chose to make it happen, as it is being made to happen, and with the Almighty’s help will continue to happen.

Just know that Gd is in control. In the “end times”, the knowledge from below merges with the knowledge from above and humanity has a “light bulb” moment which ushers in the Messianic Age. We will clean house, fighting evil and uphold the Gd’s laws. In the end, as in Isaiah, people from all over the world will come to Jerusalem, for mediation and celebration of the four yearly festivals “in song and dance” — like Israelites did at the Temple in Solomon’s time, and before that at the.Ziggurats (the largest being in Ur of the Chaldees — Abrahams “home town” ) scattered throughout Mesopotamia, the core of the ancient world.
How to get from here to there? There is much to be debunked. History has been rewritten by the conquerors since before Abraham’s time. The ancient world ran like clockwork for thousands of years before the first recorded wars (the Assyrians attacking Mesopotamian cities) Time to undo the confusion and have unity in our ancient past, so we can act together as one human FAMILY
This means the end of Islam and a return to our roots. Israel National Radio Interview: http://www.marcrubin.com/judean-eve.ivnu

Yes, by posting comments with little content other than insults, you have earned the title. You could learn from a study of logic… specifically that ad hominem is not a valid debate tactic.
Remember this; in the end it is the atheist with the irrational worldview. You claim to believe in logic, yet it shouldn’t exist in an atheistic world. You claim to be rational, yet you have no basis for why one ought to be rational. In fact, you have no way of ultimately knowing if your senses are telling the truth, or if the world is an illusion. As a Christian, I actually have a basis for believing in logic, rationality, and the reliability of my senses – a foundation you lack.
I imagine you won’t understand the argument; that is fine, it is more for others’ benefit than yours. If you should like to read more, http://www.answersingenesis.org/get-answers/features/never-assume?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=neverAssume is a decent starting place.
Now, slightly more on-topic, Beck has had insight in things before. I’m not a “blind follower” by any means; in fact there have been a number of times where I have disagreed with Beck’s opinion, but I am keeping my eyes open like many others here. At any rate, I‘m interested in finding out what he’s planning.

Glenn is by far the first one to say all this. I have heard it before a long time ago and I read it a long time ago. I have been watching and waiting for times such as these. God was the very first to say it in the Book of Daniel and the Book of Rev. As Christians this fore knowledge is not for the purpose of getting us out of the way and protecting our own butts. It is given to us to get us prepared to take a stand and to get in the way of the One World System that will be out to distroy Israel and all that oppose them. This is not the time to get scared about what is coming, it is a time to build faith, strength, courage, and be prepared to fight the fear with truth and love. The United States does not have to be included in the One World System of Goverment. We need to oppose it to our death, because we will be needed to help God help Israel in the coming time of tribulation for them. This is the trumpet blowing folks for all those that can hear the Lord. There are certain particular people on here who I know have the Spirit of the Living God in them. They don’t claim to know it all or have all the answers. They quote scriptures sometimes. They believe science as far as science confirming the existence of God. They sound like they have conservative values. They sound like they love America. They speak like they fear God. Which leads to my question to you. Please explain to me and anyone else here on the Blaze, why do you fear science? Why do you have that term in your screen name? The bible says the fear of THE LORD is the beginning of wisdom, not science. Science changes with our growing knowledge or with our error. Science isn’t able to secure your being when you die. God’s hands are able to secure us, both now and after the final breath we take. Where will your science be at on that day? Will science somehow embrace you at that moment? I think not. But God can. I don’t mean any offence to you. But the name speaks for itself. So you might now ask why I use Captain Crunch. I tend to be the type of person who is always looking for a battle to fight, a point to make, and I have a streak of vanity in my heart. It’s a silly name, but a stratigic distraction. By the hatred that is aimed at us that believe in Him we know that we are in good company.
As Jesus had said in Mark 13:13, “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
We are in good company and we know that we are doing His will in carrying on. As we see the one world religion come together before our eyes we know that He is near and will call His own out and save them from that new religion.
Make your calling and election sure for even the very elect shall be deceived. Stand fast and carry the Good News to others. Pray the Father to send the laborers of the harvest. For the harvest is great but the laborers are few. The signs of the times are revealed and a fool says in his heart that there is no God. Do not turn to right or to the left. For straight is the Gate and narrow is the path that leads to salvation and broad is the path that leads to destruction. Do not let the sun go down on your anger and forgive or you will not be forgiven.
We see the choices that others have made and do not be dissuaded. We will never agree completely with any other Christian because we are all here for a specific purpose and ask God to show you what yours is. Every situation that we are in is a learning experience and if we do not walk away with something we have missed the lesson.
I pray for you all and may the Lord God Almighty reveal himself to you.

For one reason or another, Glenn, we’re on the edge of our seats waiting on your “revelations”

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 1:31amI see no reason to make fun of Beck or criticize him for speaking from his heart. He is not mocking other people as the progressives do. He is not trying to destroy our country nor bring it to its knees. His love for our country is obvious in every statement he makes. If he defends Israel, then he is doing so because their survival is ultimately related to our own survival. If Israel falls, how long do you think before the caliphate openly attacks America? Right now, Israel is the only ray of hope in the Mideast that stands for freedom and human dignity.

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 4:04amI think a better characterization of what Mormons (LDS) believe about the Americas is that it is a choice land and blessed to all who follow Christ’s teachings. I think that has been proven true. Conversely it can also be cursed to those who do not. We may yet see that also proven true.
What we think of the Americas should not detract at all about what we believe to be the role of Israel and Jerusalem as the Holy Land. Twice in the 1800s various LDS church leaders (including Orson Hyde who was Jewish) went to that land specifically to say a prayer of dedication that the land should be built up again for a gathering place of the scattered Jews. They also published a proclamation to the world that this should be done with wealth and resources used for that purpose.
We believe that the Jews having been first to receive Christ and his gospel and rejected him will now be last to receive it. But they will eventually and will be converted in great numbers after Christ miraculously saves a remnant from utter destruction and personally appears to them showing the wounds received “in the house of his friends”

You would have a problem if Glenn were asking you for money and you would have a problem if he were asking for no money and had no advertisers. You have a problem with God.
So with that blockage you have missed any message from God.

The man made a criticism of an ex-shock jock turned soon-to-be ex-television host and shill for companies exploiting peoples’ end of the world fears, and you said he had a problem with God. Are you equating Glenn with God?

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 7:23amI want to thank verc for making my point exactly.
People that speak openly and honestly about God, that follow Him, are His mouthpieces. So we all see that the hatred of God blocks ones ability to see what might be learned.
A very typical behavior trait of these that are afflicted and the tactics that follow are always the same. Attack, redirect, mislead, misquote and then miss the boat.
I knew that it would not take long to get one of them one the line to prove my point. Look at Verc’s time stamp.

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 9:01amTo anyone that says to me this or next summer as gas prices rise:
“Them Jews should leave Isreal.”
I’ll say:
“Shove it up your a$$!” As I shove my fist into their ungodly face.
I speak metaphorically but the truth is plain, I would rather be condemned by men for not fearing men than by God who loves and protects us all!
I have a lawn care business that will suffer because of gas prices. But I would rather sacrifice my business than have to face God on judgement day saying that my lawn care business was worth more than the I AM. No way I instead will support GOD’s Kingdom and lay my business at HIS Feet.
GOD BLESS THE JEWS AND ISREAL! YOUR LORD YOUR GOD IS ONE!

My problem is with how Glenn seems to blend his message with whatever he is selling. It’s almost if I went on tv talking about how an asteroid was going to hit earth, then tried to sell asteroid insurance. He comes off as someone who preys on peoples’ fears about things like the economy to make money for himself. Why shouldn’t I have a problem with that?
