Update: Kentucky Men Sentenced in Bizarre Beard-Eating Case

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) — Two central Kentucky men were sentenced to probation in connection with a bizarre case in which a third man said he was forced to eat his beard after an argument. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported 47-year-old Troy Holt and 51-year-old James Hill were sentenced Tuesday in Anderson Circuit Court.
Harvey Westmoreland of Lawrenceburg had said Holt cut off his beard and forced him to eat it while Hill allegedly held a sickle blade to Westmoreland and his brother during the May incident.
Holt could not say why he made Westmoreland eat his beard other than that things “got out of control” after some heavy drinking.
He added, “I ain’t got no excuses about what I done.”
Hill had no comment after sentencing.
As a condition of their sentences, neither Holt nor Hill is to have contact with Westmoreland.

1.) He’s still alive
2.) He just permanently disarmed 2 guys that threatened with deadly force. The law will no longer allow the perpetrators to own guns or knives with blades over a certain length.
3.) With the exception of not whistling all his “s” syllables like Obama, he demonstrated a much clearer view of the rule of law than both Barack Obama and Eric Holder.
I‘d suspect Ol’ Bubba there holds the same political views and understands them as well as any of the folks demeaning him here. So, when you spit out a bunch of sterotypical vitriol without really knowing a person – please review all the Bill Mahr clips here and realize that is you.

These guys may be fat drunks but neither is murderer. Suspended sentence is the right call and I would have also fined them the price of a fake beard for the victim till his grows back and confiscated their beer supply.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 8:16amThere isn’t much in this story that says smart… but stupid isn’t born in Kentucky. Look to the inner city culture and you have people killing each other and themselves over petty things like shoes.
I can’t speak to the crazy idea of eating a beard, ain’t never been that drunk. but I can say folks from these parts of the country are the kindest and most caring I’ve met. slang isn’t a true indicator of intelligence, now eating beards is something different.. kinda stupid there..
When i hear remarks like “no teeth” I get a little defensive. Since when is brainpower kept in our teeth?
but then i’m prejudice against city culture.. I’d take dumb and kind over selfish, self serving, arrogant, condescending, and prideful (in the bad way) any day. My girl is from NY and we are forever laughing at our long held stereotypes.
