Update: Movie Star Mila Kunis May Now Cancel Dance Date With Marine

It was the feel-good story of the weekend. Marine Sgt. Scott Moore, stationed in Afghanistan, recorded a YouTube proposal for movie star Mila Kunis, inviting her to the Marine Corps. ball in November. Incredibly, she accepted. Life is good. Ooh-rah!

But not so fast. It looks like now Kunis might have to cancel.

The Hollywood Insider is reporting that Kunis has already booked two movie shoots for November, and her schedule won’t allow for the ball. Instead, she’s allegedly going to try and meet with Moore one-on-one:

Gawker points out the obvious PR scandal this could degenerate into:

Hmmmmm. I bet they’ll find a way though, right? That would be incredibly bad PR to back out at this point, wouldn’t it? I mean, the guy was so excited. … It was gonna be awesome! C’mon, Mila. You can’t do this to the poor guy. Find a way. You’re a movie star! Use your movie star magic.

But according to E! Online, the star is trying to juggle things around to make the date.

“It’s going to be a great experience to meet her,” Moore told FoxNews.com, “and it’s going to make the ball more special for everyone.”

That is, if it still happens.

      Marine Sgt. Scott Moore doesn’t need this bitchy little tart.
      She doesn;t deserve to be seen anywhere near this MAN. He does more in one day for his country as an adult than this little twit has done or will ever do in her entire life.
      The best thing that could happen is for someone else in Hollywood ( a REAL lady) come forward willingly and request to be escorted to the Marine ball by this gentleman.
      You know,… someone beautiful who truly appreciates the service and sacrifice of this soldier and others like him. There is are few young women in the entertainment industry with brains and beauty that would appreciate the opportunity.
      He should gracefully but publically withdraw his invitation.
      She doesn’t deserve him,…and he doesn’t need him.
      Who knows how she will disrespect him if she goes.
      God bless Sgt. Moore for trying!

      If the chick doesn’t really want to go, what is the point? Would it be to use the guy for publicity? That would be even sicker than saying yes and then backing out. If the guy had any dignity left he would withdraw the offer asap. I bet there are some country music babes that would go. But, it is too late now. The guy was played for a fool. Shame on her.       I am hoping a much hotter(my son’s words) young actress steps up and offers to go. I know that she was the one that was invited and that is the whole point. But I think at this time there are a good number of gorgeous hollywood starlets that would find the time for this hero!!!!! I hope the young marine gets a date. And I hope someone else shows more class.

      Kind of uncalled for. Schedules are made months in advance. As much as she may like to go, a spur of the moment invitation may be impossible to pencil in (regardless of how noble the cause is). You wouldn’t want everyone calling you some name every time you had to turn down an invitation would you?

      We monitor our computers VERY closely. Just didn’t realize I needed to worry when my boys are reading The Blaze.     Movie shooting schedules are made way in advance and she was pressured on TV to say yes. If she has a shoot and can‘t make it then that’s not her fault, it‘s not like people aren’t going to know where she is on the day of the ball and won’t be able to hold her accountable.

      I agree, she was pressured to accept. Her response should have been something along the lines of.. “I sincerely appreciate the invitation. I support, respect and admire all our servicemen & women. I may have prior commitments but will do all I can to change my schedule so I can attend”.

      Probably an honest answer, but unfortunately she would be blasted for that too.

      Since I am in, I have a new understanding of scheduling, and how they can change and you can’t always do or go to things you may want. She probably didn’t even know that she was going to have a shoot, and should have said like you suggested, something along the lines of “I’ll have to check my schedule, but I would like to go if at all possible.”

      Sorry, but everyone I work with knows my political ideals and they don’t care. Personally, people should make their own decisions about politics as long as it doesn’t get in the way of their duties. I was a liberal when I signed up and I have only gotten more and more liberal in my 4 years.

    There is also a YouTube invite for Justin Timberlake to attend the Ball. A female Marine Corporal Kelsey De Santis, currently the only female serving at the Martial Arts Training School. If he knows whats good for him he will accept.
