Update: Tackled Wis. Rep Admits ‘I Was Aggressive’

Wis. State Rep. Nick Milroy released a statement today regarding the stunning video showing him being tackled by police last night as he tried to storm the Capitol. On one hand, he admitted he was “aggressive.” On the other hand, he railed against Gov. Scott Walker’s “armed palace environment.”

Milroy said he tried to get into the Capitol in order to retrieve some “personal belongings.” At that point, he admitted, “I was aggressive in attempting to re-enter the Capitol and law enforcement was aggressive in trying to keep me out.”

The video, posted early this morning on The Blaze, shows Milroy being taken to the ground and eventually shouting at officers.

(Watch the original video.)

Despite the admission, however, Milroy also took a shot at Walker, saying he had created an “armed palace environment,“ and that he has been ”frustrated” with Walker’s “lockdown” of the building. In reality, a judge ordered the building closed for cleaning — a necessary step after weeks of protests.

Said Milroy, who has been holding office hours outside in the wake of the closing, “No lawmaker should have to go to that extent to talk to the people he represents.”

Milroy said he was eventually allowed in the Capitol, and he did go out of his way to praise Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs for “skillfully” clearing the building after hours.

“Overall, law enforcement has done an excellent job in a ridiculous situation,” Milroy said. “They are simply following the orders of Governor Walker.”

And the people you represent are at work or at home. Not the freeloaders protesting.

I think that the Democrats are acting disgusting. This “fleeing away” in States where the Republicans are in the majorities, makes all of them sore losers.

Don’t they realize that real people voted to put the Republicans in the majority because they were dissatisfied with the Democrats?

Not only are the Democrats not representing the people who voted for them, they’re nullifying the votes of the people who voted for the Republicans – since nothing can get done without the stated quorum.

Milroy saying that Gov. Walker has created an “armed palace environment“, implying that Gov. Walker is some kind of King is ingenuous. No, Mr. Milroy, Gov. Walker was ELECTED Governor and is not a King or dictator. He IS the CEO of the State of Wisconsin, and he IS in charge.

It‘s hard to describe what it’s like in Wisconsin right now. Frustrations of those of us who are afraid we’ll be seeing the results of the election overturned (not just on this bill but on every future bill: all they’ll have to do after the Republicans cave once is THREATEN to leave the state….). More than half of our Senators have recall petitions filed on them: every single one (Democrat AND Republican) that has held office long enough to be recalled. The Wis. Democrat Party is directly running the GOP recalls. There is NO involvement whatsoever of the Wis. GOP on the Dem recalls.

I hope that Gov. Walker can stand his ground. In another State (I don’t remember which one) where the Republicans are the majority, the Dems left the State because they didn‘t want to have their State made ’a right to work State’. That Gov. took that off the table, but the Dems still won’t come back. The Dems are deciding what else they need “taken off the table” to come back.

So, Gov. Walker should not back down. The Dems lost the elections, but they are controlling the legislatures, and that is just not right.

The “armed palace” reference is in going along with what the union thug a.k.a. Dane County Sheriff’s comment that he pulled his deputies off “palace guard” duty. Unfortunately that meant that there were no cops around the outside of the building when Sen. Grothman was mobbed while trying to enter the building for the governor’s budget speech this week. The Sheriff’s name is Dave Mahoney by the way. Or jerk. Whichever you prefer.

Typical, one minute he admits he was wrong to storm the building and then ruins a perfectly good admission by blaming it on Walker. Do they ever take personal responsibility for anything? I was actually giving his an “atta boy”, then he blew it, and then he didn’t, then he did. The demonstrators should remain outside in respect of the capitol building to begin with instead of treating it like their personal motel.

Well Mr. Millroy it shouldn’t take a judicial order to close the capitol just so it can be cleaned now should it. I was not aware on the first story that it was a Democrat but it now explains a lot. The whole thing was a set-up that he created. He knew that it was a judge that ordered the evacuation and that Walker had nothing to do with it. He went in as aggresively as he could so that aggression would be used to stop him as he knew it would. I would have felt sorry for him being handled that way if it wasn’t totally clear now that he wanted it that way. The tricks these democrats create, whether it is for publicity or to avoid doing their job and voting like they were elected to do shows the complete and total lack of integrity, honor and pride in themselves and the total disregard, arrogance and dislike for people that do not bow down and obey whatever they want.

A ridiculous “thing” brought on and manifested by progressive democrats who are more worried about their loss in campaign contributions from the unions and their misguided members. In bad, and I mean BAD, economic times great Americans look to each other for help and assistance, not to government for more handouts and entitlements. These public workers who are so twisted over their possibility of temporary loss of such luxury bargaining tools as binding arbitration, should be totally ashamed. To not believe they should have to pay more for their healthcare and pensions just smacks of the entitlement mentality that has been fostered through the years by these progressive liberals. If the public employees bothered to look at the big picture they would understand where their bread is being buttered, by the private sector employees who pay taxes which amounts to the public sectors salaries. What is wrong with these clowns other than, “I’ve got mine and you owe it to me”.
I would like to thank all those AFL-CIO union bosses for helping me decide to cancel my membership in their union, to which gives me great pleasure knowing no more of my money will be going to them and helping them promote the downfall of this country.
