Last Saturday, The Blaze brought you the story of Fred Grandy, a popular DC radio host who resigned after station WMAL booted his wife from the program for making remarks critical of Islam and told the host to “tone it down.”
On Tuesday, Grandy’s wife, Catherine, spoke out about his resignation and told Fox News‘ Megyn Kelly why she’s actually grateful to WMAL:

Report Post »I have, once agian, been shaken into the reality that the perceptions of the average citizen have been shaped by the headlines of the MSM which hide or minimize the facts about radical Islam. All too often the headlines note “Islamophobia” as to criticize anyone who warns about the very real threat of the radicals.
Strong retaliation from honest journalists is necessary to bring the average person into the light regarding organizations like CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood. They are NOT benign, beneficial or peaceful in their efforts. By the way, NBC is the leader in promoting the advancement of these groups.

If this only happened in one country, I’d probably say it was a fluke! But its not, when they have enough numbers things will change again! The countries generating these radicals have a long history of the small group in power exploiting the resources for their own material gain vs. investing in the future of the country. Every terrorist, while certainly desperate, sees extremism as a valid, reasonable response. Wouldn’t you agree that if not for popular religious writings (teachings) that do little to deter and in many cases actual condone violence, these desperate people might reasonably find more peaceful means of forcing change?

Keep people uneducated, focus them on a boogeyman who is making their lives “miserable” (in most cases the U.S. or Isreal), then give them the religious context and justification to perform vile acts on that boogeyman and you have a pretty good formula for staying in power since their miserable lives are not focused on you. You certainly don’t want them educated and up to speed on historical revolutions and uprisings, especially the most successful ones.
The radical clerics preaching the violence also benefit from the ignorance of their followers, so the formula works in both cases. I believe the same religious writings used by the fundamentalist radicals to justify violence would be not be interpreted, or accepted, in their literal sense by a more highly educated audience.

I must still insist a great deal is culture driven, regardless of socioeconomics, regardless of the regimes under which they live. Educated, uneducated, oppressed, American, either way, in the end it is a choice, and to all, a reasonable one. Though, an argument could be made whereby the cycle is initiated under your proposed regime, at which point gaining education would have no effect; the reason now being tainted. Hellish cycle of sociopathy, either way, and probably unstoppable.

Islamists, by definition, WANT the combination of church and state. They’re only 600-700 years behind (they started late), making a medieval power-grab to “advance” their culture. Americans need to face the fact that we are not invincible, and that much of the world is ruled by violence or the threat of violence. History is full of examples of great civilizations being crushed by less civilized power. Where I live there are plenty of examples of tiny villages sitting on the ruins of Roman cities. Ignorance and naivité alone are enough to defeat us.

There is actually teachings in the Qu’ran that give Muslim men permission to drink, lie, commit fornication in order to “fit in” a society of infidels if the final objective is Jihad. I have talked with former Muslims turned Christian and they tell me constantly that the American people are ignorant of what is going on, what the main objective is, and how it is currently being achieved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are looking in the wrong place on this. This is simple capitalism at work. The station was losing advertisers, probably viewers and the guy disobeyed a direct request from his employee to tone down his rhetoric. Of course he was fired.
And if you think this is about the Muslim religion, think again. The same guy was fired from another radio station in 1999 for saying that the murders of several athletes at Columbine was a “minor benefit” of the slaughter there. You lose viewers when say stuff like that.
This is just business folks. Radio stations are in the business of making money, and when a radio personality threatens profit, they get canned. Capitalism in action.

Posted on March 9, 2011 at 10:57am@ JZS………….I have no problem at all for the station doing what they did. None at all they can if they choose to and I mean that sincerely. Whether CAIR was involved in any way or not they are free to do what they did. And I will condemn Pres. Bush’s remarks about Islam as false, misguided, wrong, and dangerous (I did then and do now). However, it does not change the reality about what Islam is teaching and what Islam is all about at a principled level for those who adhere to the whole counsel of the Qu’ran, Hadith, and Hadith Qudsi. We need to realize that there are a large group of Muslims (in the millions) that are fundamentalists and want to see America brought down and “subdued” It is undeniable if you study the teachings of the 4 Sunni schools (Most Muslims are Sunni and hold to these schools teachings). Just look at how those “moderate” Muslims are treated by the hard-liners and fundamentalists. It is a very real threat if you take the time to look into what is being taught and advocated on a mass scale.
