      You cannot leave matters of this nature up to the “STACKED” courts. Time for legal battles to be set aside and WE THE PEOPLE to start taking a stand. Congress is and has been irrelevant for sometime now. Wake up folks…lawsuits, elections, negotiations, debates, etc. ARE NOT GOING TO GET US OUT OF THIS MESS. Read your history about the Founding Fathers. They faced Great Britain head-on….not with speeches, not with litigation, not with legislative debates, not with an election…NO.       I just looked at Section 4 of the 14th Amendment and I’ll be damned if I found a reference to raising the debt ceiling. Paying your ‘lawful’ debts does NOT mean counterfeiting money to pay them. This democrap scandal is going to be added to the long list of “Why people hate us” rhetoric.

      last section of the 14th amendment specificly granted all power of it’s enforcement to be legislated through congress in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. quote.

      Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

      More over the same article calls for removal of any federal employyee that gives aid and comfort to the enemy Obama did both in using tax dollars to argue for the early release of a terrorist.

      Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability

      It would seem that the We already have measures put in place to adress an issue concerning over 100,000,000 American. As socialist and communist are enemies of the Constitution and therefore enemies of America we can removing anyone in office who has aided or comforted either. VIVA LA 14TH

      How in the he77 do people like this get elected? He has no idea of what’s in the 14th amendment . If he did he would no that the final section of the amendment give the power of it’s enforcement to Congress and only congress.
      You would think that Congressnan would know something of the article he swears to protect. So either he is ignorant of the CONSTITUTION OR HE IS FLAT OUT ASKING THE PRESIDENT TO COMMIT AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACT.

      Amendment 14 Section 4 calls on the United States to pay debts. Now, if a constitutional lawyer can twist this to mean up the debt ceiling to pay the debts until after 2013 to get Barry a second term, then they will go for it.

      This has a lot to do with Sen. Barry’s present vote on so many occassions. He does not want to make a decision. Don‘t you think looking at a person’s voting record to see if he has courage to do what is unpopular should be a condition of the Presidency?

      They have produced a budget, but it doesn’t involve raising the debt unless there are cuts in spending made, and democrats and the President will not accept it. The idea of the President usurping Congress’ power in unconstitutional, and it is times like this in history when people can identify political figures who like rulers or kings, and the political figures who like liberty and a government by the people.

The Dems know that the present leadership would never challenge the administration with impeachment.       I’m not a Constitutional Lawyer or expert in any shape or fashion, and some in government high office that claim that they are, aren’t either. The 14th Amendment deals mainly with reconstruction and citizenship for ex-slaves etc. The debt that the US Federal government is responsible to pay the individual states referes to expenses incurred to give all citizens the same protection and privileges under the law. It doesn’t have anything to do with raising the debt limit that the USA is allowed to incur. Obama is out of control and needs to be put into his place. The President of the USA is a servant of the people and not a king, potentate or dictator over the people.

      Getting the federal courts involved is EXACTLY what the left wants. It would have the same effect that at some point in the future allowing the “line item veto” would on the quality of debate between the House and Senate — less rigorous negotiation and a tendency to displace responsibility upline to the President when the going gets too tough instead of working out on their own.

      And so passing a “Balanced Budget Amendment” (BBA) is opening the door to eventually having the Supreme Court making financial decisions formerly made by Congress.

      The root cause in need of correction is to Repeal the 17th Amendment; then purge the “debt is sacred” clause from the 14th. The BBA may smell and look like the silver-bullet workaround for the mischief caused by the 17th Amendment — but I have my suspicion that it is yet another poison pill that will lead to more displacement of responsibility.

      Restore Federalism. Enough with the band-aids, tape and twine repairs over a broken system.

      The way the court system moves in this country….it cannot be done swiftly enough. Our only hope is the election in 2012. Our only prayer is that the 2012 ballot boxes are not stuffed by illegal aliens, our guns are not legislated away, and this piece of work doesn’t get us into another war or find a phony reason to declare Martial Law.     If he does this, impeach immediately and fight through the courts as well. There’s also civil disobedience. Everyone stop paying taxes, including corporations and small businesses. If the president can break the law and not uphold the Constitution, which he swore to do, then all citizens can do likewise. We will have lost rule of law, so non-payment of taxes will be in order. We might as well go down now as later. But, it will take all of us standing together for the sake of our country.

      A few years ago I called some of the largest churches in my area to try to get them to march in the streets to stop abortion, NOT ONE OF THESE GREEDY BA$TARD$ WOULD EVEN TALK TO ME!     Section 5 of the XIV Amendment states: “The Congress shall have the power to enforce by appropriate legislation, the provisions of the article.” Makes it pretty clear the President does NOT have the power to raise the debt limit.       the last section of the 14th amendment specificly granted all power of it’s enforcement to be legislated through congress in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. quote.

      Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

      More over the same article calls for removal of any federal employyee that gives aid and comfort to the enemy Obama did both in using tax dollars to argue for the early release of a terrorist.

      Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability

      Ahh, the 14th Amendment – section 3.

      Read that over and over again – and then tell me that former Confederates are the ones who instilled the racial laws post-reconstruction. Indeed, they could have – if pardoned by Congress on a 2/3rds vote and were with the “program”.

      Sometimes history slaps you in the face harshly – then you begin to realize the truth.

      Congress will never enforce section 3 against its own – only those who disagree with them. Be wary of Section 3 – as Congress may decide to enforce it on the Tea Party if their jobs are threatened. All they need is a good “insurrection” or “rebellion”. The way terms are so readily twisted these days, I’d be looking for Jesse Jackson Jr. to make this call very soon.
