Utah Army ‘Biological Attack’ Base Locked Down to Solve ‘Serious Concern’

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah military base that carries out tests to protect troops against biological attacks was locked down Wednesday to resolve a “serious concern,” officials said.
Base commander Col. William E. King said no one was in danger and the gates will reopen as quickly as it’s feasible.

His statement did not provide any details of the problem.
Base spokeswoman Bonnie Robinson told the The Associated Press early Thursday that officials hope to have the problem resolved shortly.
“We are working as quickly and as thoroughly as possible to resolve a serious concern within the Test Area,” King said.
“Measures like these (lock down of our gates) are not taken lightly. No one is in immediate danger but these steps are required,” he said.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported that a lockdown began at 5:24 p.m. MST Wednesday, with no one allowed in or out of the base. There were about 1,200 to 1,400 people at Dugway at the time.
Military weapons are tested at Dugway, located about 85 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Its primary mission is defending troops against biological and chemical attacks.

What’s more, twenty-five years in the Navy informs me that with the exception of a rare mentally-deficient ******* MOST of us in uniform are pretty conservative, patriotic to the bone, unstintingly dedicated to the defense of the Republic, and not just a little bit contemptuous of blue-suited butt-kissers, liberal Congress critters, and especially CINCs who never served a day (or anyone but themselves). Bottom Line: Whatever is going on at Dugway, be assured that the guys and gals wearing YOUR nation’s uniform are on YOUR side.

I’ve always chuckled at the FEMA camp theories and stuff just based on the fact that the government cant even balance a budget, much less organise and execute perfectly a plan to round up the population and ship them off to camps for psychological brainwashing and extermination. If it was a serious situation and they wanted no contact, they can shut off cell service and land lines. They did it to us in Iraq when Joe Biteme came to visit our humble little base in Kirkuk. And for the record, I avoided the DFAC all together that day. Don’ tlisten to the media, the overwhelming majority of our service people love this country and will die to protect her, thus not let a WMD or biological agent get loose on the US without speaking up.

Who were they making it for? To use against an enemy? If so, who? Or were these materials to be useful for not only external use, but for internal as well? Isn‘t right that the people of the United States should know what materials their own government military are creating on America’s dime, and exactly what the substance is and its value as a weapon? What are the threats that require such a weapon to be manufactured, and for what purpose that can even cause for a military shut down in the State of Utah? Answers need to be forth coming. It seems unnecessary to build biological weapons for a biological attack on a mad man with a growing beard in a cave somewhere?
There’s definitely more to this than meets the eye? Maybe the entire world should be taking an interest in this kind of biological malfunction? Could this spread, get out of hand, or even be tested on Americans? Someone better do some explaining and as soon as possible, wouldn’t you think?

There are so many bugs that can be easily weaponized besides just anthrax and smallpox it boggles the mind. The publication of this information would be counter productive to public safety if it forewarned an attacker what we were ready for.

I really doubt that any type of BIO or Chem agent has been released, stolen or lost. All that crap usually sits at Johnson Atoll in the Pacific. Even Ft Leonard Wood with the live nerve agent chamber does not keep lethal mixed compounds, it makes them as they are needed or utilized. Please take a deep breath and unclench you cheeks. When was the last time one of Tom Clanceys novels came to life on USA soil?

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 5:40amJesse Ventura’s tv show had an episode about these biological weapons facilities and it was deeply disturbing, they said there are roughly 1400 or so of these bases spread over our 50 states and security lapses and mistakes occurred at an alarming rate at the one they looked at in Lime, NY where some of their test animals washed ashore (the base was on an island), the test animal was very disturbing considering it looked like a dog with a large beak and racoon like fingers. . . they showed pictures. . . anyway the security was an honor bases system where the employees actually POLICED THEMSELVES and contamination of the general population was not a major concern.

This could be due to some child being lost on base like hiking on the wooded trails, to yes even the wost case oh my god we are all going to die because of X. I think it would be something closer to a child being lost.

Lost child they would let the people off base but search the cars going off base. All this is a lost something that is small i.e paper documents or thumb drive that can be hidden effectively. So just stop all the tin foil hat theories. Also do not hold your breath because you probably will not hear anything about the outcome because it will not be news worthy.

Two if it was a release of something, it still will not pose a danger because of the low temps and hardly any wind plus anything that is released would have to be atomized into the are like how hair spray sprays out of the can. Please people take off your tin foil hat and calm down. If you are all worked up about this I would hat to see how you would react to a real emergency or government take over if that fits you better.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 9:19amI don’t know if it is related in any way, but I’ve noticed that the Emergency Broadcast System(EBS) on my cable tv runs “Required Monthly, and Weekly, tests just about everyday, and more times than not two and three times DAILY. Something is “in the air”, so to speak! Maybe I’m just being a little paranoid, but that is just way too many “tests” to be a normal occurrence!!! There are an awful lot of things this (and every) government keeps quiet, but I can’t help but wonder about these tests…………..???
