Van Susteren Blasts President for Keeping $1 Million From ‘Serial Pig’ Bill Maher: ‘Is That the Obama Price Tag for Decency?’

Greta Van Sustren Blasts President Obama and David Axelrod Over Bill Mahers $1 Million Super PAC Contribution

Outspoken On The Record host Greta Van Susteren blasted President Obama, along with his senior campaign strategist David Axelrod, for what she sees as the clear double standard relating to Bill Maher‘s history of misogynistic comments and Rush Limbaugh’s remarks about Georgetown agitator Sandra Fluke.

On her blog Thursday, Greta lampooned the president for “looking the other way” and keeping Maher’s $1 million contribution to the Obama Super PAC. She asked if that was the president’s “price tag for decency.”

She also tore into Axelrod’s slated appearance on Bill Maher’s Real Time – directly after he criticized Mitt Romney for not condemning (to his degree of satisfaction) Limbaugh.

From Greta Wire:

Is everyone for sale? At least Ed Schultz and Rush Limbaugh apologized (which I think appropriate) for their boorish behavior and their boorish behavior is nothing like Bill Maher! Maher is a serial pig. And Maher, to get cover for continuous vile behavior, gives a million dollars to the Obama super Pac so that the President looks the other way and the President does. Go figure! Is that the Obama price tag for decency? Give a million and you can be as nasty to women as you want? How does President Obama – who dragged his daughters into this, I did not – handle this with his daughters when Maher is the quintessential woman degrader? The C word to women – Maher’s apparent favorite – is as vile as it gets. Do you wonder if the Obama campaign is laughing with Bill Maher? Or worse…laughing at Americans?

Greta adds a “PS” in which she says Maher “can’t hide behind, ‘I am comedian.’”

“Being a comedian is not license to be a bigot or degrade women.  Seinfeld is more successful and never degrading,” she concluded.

Needless to say, many will cheer Greta’s candor in exposing the hypocrisy of the left, and in this particular instance, the administration.

COFEMALE, what analogy? Explain to me the analogy. The analogy that (even though she made no reference to sex) he’s surprised she can still walk given that she must be having sex three times a day 365 days a year? The analogy that she must have had a condom supplier in grade school? The analogy that her parents (which would be her family) must be proud of her for having sex 1000 times a year, given that her entire testimony was talking about a friend who needed hormonal birth control to contain the growth of cysts on her ovaries? The analogy that she wants to be paid for having sex even though her testimony had absolutely nothing to do with sex?

Please cofemale, assuming you are female, what “analogy” are you referring to? If you think Rush Limbaugh (married four times presently) is speaking for women, by analogy, I think probably have been married four times, all to guys just like Rush. And your husband’s all probably visit Third World countries carrying Viagra, prescribed to another person. That’s just an analogy btw. Don’t take it personally.

Your friend Maher managed even to draw the attention and condemnation of NOW. They were reluctant, but his offenses were so extreme that they had to call him out for his misogynistic statements.

      @ JZS

Again, you are being fundamentally dishonest. Please note Sandra Flukes full opening statement:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlRC0nsjtKQ

@ 2:10 She talks about contraception in general not being covered, not noting the Ovarian Cancer.
@ 2:35 She talks of one friend who felt embarrassed because she couldn’t afford contraception (not for medical needs like ovarian cancer).
@ 4:13 She then talks of other people who have needs for contraception outside of the normal, not to get pregnant. She claims this is only 20% of the cases are for Ovarian Cancer @ 5:23 . Then she gives the example of her friend that needed it for Ovarian Cancer.

So, here speech is not about solely Ovarian Cancer. Or is about her one friend which is one of three examples she gave. It was 20% of the cases she was covering in her statement. She is covering 100% of the medical needs of women in the need of contraception, of which includes to not get pregnant. Of which seems to be 80% of her friends (or woman that need it).

@ 6:50 She gives the funniest claim that her friend, who is lesbian, will not be able to have a kid and give her mother a grandchild. I know that artificial insemination could allow it, but I find it ironic that her friend that does dig the male attached to the organ needed for pregnancy is worried about her ability to breed.

      @ JZS

Then you have to factor her LSRJ statements of Fluke (which she is President of the Georgetown University branch):
      http://www.theblaze.com/stories/revealed-abortion-agenda-of-cam

“RJ advocates concentrate on the realization of the rights to have a child, to not have a child, and to birth and parent the children with dignity. More specifically, we aim to construct legally tenable, realistically accessible avenues for informed, consensual, unobstructed decision-making about education, sex, contraception, sterilization, abortion, procreation, birthing, and parenting.”

So it is proof her agenda is more than Ovarian Cancer. It is more than the rape case she stated in the last half, which she admits was covered by Georgetown, but the student ASSUMED it was not. Or her first case which was a woman that was simply embarrassed BC was not covered and was too expensive for her (note this girl wasn’t getting it for cancer or rape – otherwise i am sure Sandra would have stated that fact).

Nor can I find any news story on Planned Parenthood (the free clinics she speaks of) losing Government funding or any cuts made to fund or that they were running low on BC…

Look fellas, I’m not about to defend Maher calling Palin a misogynistic name. I condemn that completely and without reservation. But he called her a name, and that does not compare to Limbaugh’s three day assault on Fluke. Maher, for example, didn’t say:
      - “So, Ms. Fluke and the rest of you feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it, and I’ll tell you what it is. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”
      - “Who bought your condoms in junior high? Who bought your condoms in the sixth grade?”
      - “She’s, having so much sex, it’s amazing she can still walk.”
      - She’s a woman who, “ ”a woman who is happily presenting herself as an immoral, baseless, no-purpose-to-her life woman. She wants all the sex in the world whenever she wants it, all the time, no consequences. No responsibility for her behavior.”

Nor did he mock Palin‘s parent’s as he did Flukes. I could go on but it wouldn’t make any difference.

Yeah, Maher has probable called Palin a c- and maybe other names, I don’t know, and I condemn what he said. But this was a three day assault, for three hours a day on a woman said absolutely nothing about contraception for sex in her testimony, and spoke only about the need for hormonal treatment for medically required reasons.

You may want to make the equivalency with Maher, but it’s false.

You missed my point. I explicitly condemned Maher’s remarks. Those “jokes” about Palin‘s family aren’t funny to me, not at all. They are offensive in fact and out of bounds in my opinion, revolting even. But I think when you enter the public arena as Palin did and continues to have, you – not your family – are a natural target for comedians from either side, and those in the middle.

So, your turn. Do you condemn Limbaugh’s remarks? Or do you think they are okay because “he did it first?”

      To JZS:

I did not condone Limbaugh’s words. He behaved badly and deserved to be called to account for it.
And he has issued an apology. Whether you or Ms. Fluke choose to accept it is another matter, but like Ed Schultz, who has also had his less than perfect moment, apologies have been made.

But as Laura Ingraham, who was the target of Schultz’s comment, has pointed out, she never got a consoling call from the President. Nor has Michelle Malkin, who has been not only been insulted with vulgar sexual language but has also been pelted with racial slurs. And 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. certainly never rang up Palin or Bachmann.

Rush overstepped the bounds of decency, and he has acknowledged it. Will Maher do the same? Will those on the left ever hold him to the same standard used to judge conservatives?

Here are a few choice lines from those ever sensitive liberals:
-Sandra Bernhard called Britsol a ****** and wished for Palin to be gang raped.
-Ed Schultz said on his radio show that Sarah Palin set off a “bimbo alert.”
-Kathy Griffin famously declared it open season on Willow Palin and called Senator Scott Brown’s daughters prostitutes.
-Keith Olbermann called Michelle Malkin a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick.”
-Matt Taibbi wrote on his blog in 2009, “When I read [Malkin’s] stuff, I imagine her narrating her text, book-on-tape style, with a big, hairy set of ba—s in her mouth.”

Not to mention that Maher has attacked Palin’s children, especially Bristol Palin. And using the comedian defense is lame… Bill Maher has a political talk show. He use to be a comedian, however, is is just like Rush. He is a political talk show host. And like Rush, he uses satire and comedy to express his views and opinions. Maher goes a step further and has political activists, politicians, and celebrities join in the commentary. There is no difference between Maher and Rush, regardless of the fact that Maher was a comedian in 1979 and still does 50 shows a year in Las Vegas. Real Time is not a comedy show. The only joke is on people like you that think that labeling it as such is a pass.

Also, since they throw that accusation at Republicans with random abandon, they can also be called the party of projected guilt and deceipt. Thus, anyone who votes for a Democrat this November is a supporter of these ideas, and anytime these accusations are leveled at Republicans, it will ring hollow considering the response the Democrat leaders have had towards men like Bill Maher.

Well done, Greta, for calling a spade a spade.

If you’ve been watching Fox News very long, you can easily see Greta’s conversion from liberalism. Though no one could call her a conservative, she is vastly different since leaving CNN. Part of it is her proximity to the other conservatives around Fox News… now she knows that conservatives are pretty nice people when one gets to know them – despite the liberal line otherwise. She took to Sarah Palin like a duck takes to you know what and stoutly defended her when liberals were lampooning and deriding her at every opportunity. They now appear to be very good friends. Another thing about Greta is that she always tells the truth, and anyone familiar with liberal politics knows that theses two things do not go together. Geraldo Rivera and Shepard Smith are two liberals who came to Fox News and have maintained their liberal ideology, while Greta seems to be definitely evolving.

I think Greta is pretty fair on most things .. I actually have “spoken” to her online … it was a murder case (back when she did more of those) and people were wondering about some of the information .. I live near where it happened and was explaining about that at that time of night colors can look “different” and next thing I know Greta was on asking me questions about the area and the case … I really think she cares that she gets things right … and in this case WAY TO ROCK GRETA! PIG IS PERFECT!
