Vandals Deface Seattle Church on Easter Morning With Bizarre & Anti-Catholic Messages

While children were just hours away from enjoying their Easter baskets filled with candy and delightful trinkets, vandals were preparing another “gift” for a Seattle church on Easter eve.

Over a dozen messages were found spray-painted on St. James Cathedral on Resurrection morning. Church officials believe that the attack on the church occurred sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Red paint was sprayed on a statue of the Virgin Mary and bizarre and disturbing graffiti messages were painted on the front of the church and in the courtyard. One message read, “Child killer.” Another said, “Death Angel, we won’t be silent.” And a third proclaimed, “The Catholic Church was not born in the U.S.A.”

It took workers all day to sandblast and remove the damage. The parish will now be increasing security to prevent future attacks, as authorities attempt to figure out who was responsible.

Larry Brouse, an administrator at St. James, dismissed the graffiti, though, and said that it is “not important.”

“What’s happening inside is important — that we’re celebrating Easter,” Brouse said.

This is at least the second time that unfavorable messages have been posted on the church. In March, other anti-Catholic notes were reportedly stenciled at the cathedral as well.

      I’m Paraphrasing a little, but the facts are there – The Bible said in the end times an event would happen on the other side of the World and we would see it instantly (You Tube)

      The Bible also tells us what was going to happen to those that come against the “Apple of God’s Eye” Israel

      God said “What you do to Israel – God would do to you’. Obama, Rev Wright, Farrakhan, and Van Jones have opening supported attacks on Israel.

      What ever happens to Israel will also happen to anyone that votes for Obama – or goes to Rev Wright Church, or Marches with with Farrakhan, or Van Jones.

      It has nothing to do with Racism or the color of your skin. It is what God promised he would do shortly after You Tube was created to those that come against Israel.

      Twenty-five percent of the population claim to be Catholic. If the wanted to, they could represent the second largest voter bloc (after women) in the country. Obama has to make himself the the enemy of the Catholic institutions buy demanding that they pay for birth control and abortions. A decision based on bogus information?

    The U.S. has always been very anti-Catholic (the Know-Nothings and America First crowds, the KKK, etc., as an example). What tickles me pink are the Protestant tracts (comic booklets). Maybe that’s where the Obama admin got the inspiration for its comic book on health care.

      we had 2 churches defaced this easter weekend. I am a wa state resident and the liberals are huge in the city. the amount of us Christian freedom lovers completely outnumber the liberals but the way they have the voting districts set up in odd squiggly shapes it completely silences our votes. the entire eastern side of the state is republican with a church in every farm town. it is truly frustrating living here

    This should not surprise anyone of faith. Anti-Catholicsim/Christianity/Judaism will become more prevalent throughout the world. It is the season of time when authentic reason and love will become difficult to find. The Seals spoken of in Revelations are being broken and this will be some of the effects. Fast and pray for love, peace, courage and fortitude, to remain in our hearts for it will get worse. First vandalism of buildings, then vandalism to the body. We are in the beginning of the tribulations.

    It is too bad that such idiots were not made to clean this up with their bare hands.

    I believe that this is or should be classified as a hate crime. St. James is surrounded by cameras, so the police should have pictures of who slipped into this area at this time of night. Now lets see of any of the pictures are put out to the public so we can see and identify these haters. Any takers on how long before they are revealed.

The Catholic clergy reacted by pointing out that what is important is what is going on inside the Church on Easter morning. Those who do stuff like this are just showing their own stupidity since their nastiness won’t stop Christians of any religion from trying their best to follow Jesus.

      I guess they couldn’t think of simply writing a letter and mailing it? Perhaps be a little less cryptic about it too.

      Dear church, we are upset with you because of x, y, & z. perhaps?
      Have a spokesperson explain what their stance is,why that is, and why now?

      Instead there actions have all the credibility of vandals with intent to bully. They shamed their own legitimacy if they ever had any to begin with.
