If you’re a Verizon customer experiencing some problems this morning, there isn’t anything wrong with your phone. Verizon Wireless data service has been experiencing an outage since last night.
CNET reports that as of 6:30 a.m. EST, when person had tweeted that they had contact with a Verizon customer service representative, there was no estimated time when the service would be restored. Engadget reported that Verizon’s 3G network appears to be working, but not its 4G LTE. It does record reports that 4G seems to be restored in New Jersey and New York.
Here are a few comments from the twittersphere:
The Verge contacted Verizon which confirmed the outage but the rep was not able to discuss details of the extent of the outage.
This is the second outage to affect Verizon customers this month. According to CNET, the outages earlier this month took about a day and a half to fix.
BlackBerry experienced even more significant worldwide outages this fall, which took several days to remedy.
Stay tuned: We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.

Posted on December 22, 2011 at 12:06am,, WOW,,, I am about as “Anti-Union” as one can get,, But I NEVER even thought the “Conspiracy” stuff posted on this “Comments” column,,, My only gripe with Verizon is when I add two new Lines ,, they told me I had “UNLIMITED” data on the new lines “just Like MY original Line,,, then when the Bill shows up,, $200 in Data Overages,,, Yes we are “battling” with Verizon to get these charges reversed,, Because I am one of those “Poor SCHLUBS that has 3G,,, Has anyone had this happen to them,,??

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 6:30pmAm now a happy Verizon customer because I was a happy Alltel customer. Left Nextel before Sprint bought them out.
Then again, I’m old school…have a text message block on my phones and no data plan.
3G, 4G, no-G

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 5:27pmIt just came to me, the reason Verizon has had these outages on their LTE network.
It’s Mark Lloyd at the FCC forcing “redistribution of wealth” on wireless users.
LTE is the new, more expensive, toy to have and 3G is for the poor people so he got in there and shut the national LTE network down to redistribute air time.
“It could happen…” Judy Tenuta

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 4:58pmAll the talk of unions and VZW shows you don’t know squat about the company.
Report Post »Only the northeast markets have union members from what I’ve heard.
As for AT&T, the majority of employees are unionized.
The person in the retail store selling you that phone or accessories is a union worker.
I know people that work there and have heard some gorey details ‘straight from the horse’s mouth’.
I avoid unions like the plague!

Get real. Take the tin foil hat off. I don’t favor unions, but that is just plain dumb.

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 12:06pmThank GOD for AT&T.
I guess when you are riddled with union members who could care less whether you have service or not because they can’t get fired unless they do something really bad, like shoot someone, drink or smoke pot on the job, then you get what you pay for.

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 12:10pmOr perhaps when your executives fail to invest adequately in infrastructure and redundancy, spending most of their time and effort on sales and marketing of a service they can’t really provide you get outages. You want to put down unions, stop a teamster’s truck and tell him what you think. Otherwise you might want to actually find out what caused the outage before you spew out the Koch bros. garbage. Most workers owe their wage rates, benefits and working conditions to unions. Even most of the withe collar workers.

Are you saying that if I stopped a teamsters truck and expressed my opinion, that they would become violent? Unions are outdated and have overpriced themselves.

AT&T? Are you for real? That broken relic that still has “telegraph” in its title?
You really want to compare that garbage company with Verizon? OK…I will help you…
For the second year in a row, Verizon Wireless has come out with the top customer satisfaction awards and AT&T has come in last, according to the latest Consumer Reports survey. Sprint came in a close second to Verizon, and T-Mobile took third. Here’s a quote from ConsumerReports with more details,
“We surveyed over 66,000 of our subscribers about their service and customer-support experience with both standard and no-contract providers. The full report has carrier Ratings for 22 metropolitan markets and can be found in the January 2012 issue of Consumer Reports and at Consumer Reports Online (Ratings available to subscribers).”
I think most people, including myself, will stick with a cutting-edge company like Verizon. AT&T is a dead and backward company. So you see Cofemale, everyone is allowed an “outage” or two, every now and then, even as you now demonstrate .
You should hang an “out to lunch” sign on your forehead, for thanking God for that ancient ‘telegraph company’ vs. Verizon. LOL!

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 12:14pmCould not wait to get rid of Verizon and move to Sprint. Verizon’s management chooses to invest in a marketing and sales machine rather than infrastructure, customer support and reasonable rates. When companies run well it is the CEO and management. When they ran poorly it is the unions. Nice try but it is always management.

No offense, but your post sounds like that of a paid shill.
For you to know that much about company management and infrastructure projects, you would have to be employed with the company, and you are touting a competitor.
You dont sound genuine at all — you seem to have an agenda, as you start your post with “I could not wait to….”
Pretty phony dear. You must have ran up a very large Verizon bill, refused to pay it, and they shut off your service…LOL!
