Verizon Union Picketer Unleashes Profanity-Laced Tirade In Front of Daughter (Updated Video)

Verizon landline workers are currently staging a massive strike stretching from Massachusetts to Virginia. They’re protesting cutbacks as a result of declining business. But as they try to win the hearts, minds, and wallets of their employer (and even the public), you got to think the video you‘re about to see certainly won’t help.
A video was posted on YouTube yesterday shows an alleged Verizon picketer going berserk at what appears to be replacement workers or management trying to cross the picket line in a Verizon truck. The man, however, is not alone. In the video, his daughter can be seen holding a strike sign and standing in front of the vehicle. Still, that didn’t stop him from launching into a hate-filled speech against the other men, calling them “losers,“ ”scumbags,“ and ”scabs,” all the while mixing in profanity.
Throughout the short video, the daughter can be seen standing just feet away taking it all in. You can even hear what sounds like others coaching her on where to stand and uttering their approval (CONTENT WARNING for graphic language):
The biggest irony may be that the video seems to be taken from someone who supports the union, and posted the footage as an example of something good.
As for the details surrounding the video, there aren’t many. However, the title references the IBEW Local 827. According to that union’s website, it’s a New Jersey branch of the AFL-CIO and has this message posted in relation to the strikes:
Picket Lines are strong at every location from New England to Virginia. Unions are contacting us from all over the country who are offering to help us in our fight against Verizon. Working Men and Women, union and non-union realize this is a fight to save the Middle class.
As for the strikes in general, negotiators met face-to-face in New York on Monday, but neither management nor labor would say if there was progress. Their contracts expired at midnight Saturday.
The workers are represented by the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
UPDATE:
Another video posted referencing IBEW Local 827 on Tuesday shows how a semi-truck, apparently operated by the local Teamsters union, just happened to break down in front of the Verizon entrance, making it harder for people to enter:
Considering the videographers “thank you,” we’ll let you decide whether it was an accident or not.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 5:32pmAll men have a right to join together and to organize for the improvement of working conditions. That being said, they do not have a right to abuse other men, nor to use foul language, especially not in front of children. In the early days of the union movement, owners, management and government used oppressive tactics to try to break the unions. However, through perseverance, the unions succeeded in gaining better working conditions in most industries. These were unions that organized to help workers in the private sector. However, since the 1950′s the unions have been undermined and corrupted by gangsters and Socialists. In addition, public sector jobs have been unionized at a greater rate than the private sector. By its very nature, unionizing public sector jobs leads to corruption, collusion, and economic destruction. Government jobs should not be unionized because the people should not be held hostage by the very people hired to work for them. Union workers need to take back their unions from the Socialist Culture of Death Elitists who currently hold the leadership positions, use their union dues to support corrupt politicians, and milk the union coffers for their own greedy ends.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 6:32pmDisturbing to say the least. To put your daughter in front of a truck is pathetic. The reason they are wanting cuts is because more and more people are getting rid of landline phones and opting for cells because the charges for landline phones are ridculous partly due to union wages and concessions that are unsustainable for the company. Landlines are becoming obsolete much like rotary phones. Better they spend their time being retrained into another side of Verizon services or if they don’t like it – quit! A friend of mine works at a phone company and this is what happened there. She retrained into another job.

Most of the propaganda is aimed at getting rates raised and screwing the middle class so how can it be for the middle class. OH i get it your protesting to screw the middle class, that is who you hurting. What will happen is the people who are struggling can no longer afford all the top notch plans for cable or phone service so they are cutting make, which is forcing Verizon to make tough chocies. Posted on August 9, 2011 at 4:55pmThere are two very good arguments for eliminating ALL public sector unions:
► Unions & Democrat Ponzi Scheme – The unions, and ESPECIALLY public sector unions, have morphed into nothing more than the money laundering arm of the Democrat Party. Do the public sector unions negotiate their contracts with YOU, the taxpayer? No ……
The public sector unions negotiate their contracts with the local liberal Democrat politicians (wink, wink), and then…LOW AND BEHOLD !!…at election time, those same unions who just got big fat raises and cushy retirement packages from the liberal Democrats (at YOUR expense), turn around and donate all of their union dues to the liberal Democrat politicians who gave them the raises.
This is a CLEAR conflict of interest !!!
► Sustainability – You can NOT have public sector unions with employment packages (income + benefits + retirement) making 2x what the local citizens, who pay for the public sector unions, are making.
You cannot have public sector unions with employment packages worth $100,000/year when the average employment packages of the local citizens is $45,000/year.
That is NOT sustainable!
Or, put another way, Socialism works fine until the money runs out.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 4:58pmLMAO But do us a favor, when you do get his job. Don’t be like them, don’t become them. Its not necessary and if there were decent people who got into the Unions, they could get back control from the leadership and might turn it around.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 4:48pmUnion people, Yukkkk! Low life, trash. Fire them all, and hire people that would give their right leg to have a job in this economy. America has to get rid of unions. Look at Europe, unions brought these countries to their knees. It is time to stop these unions from bullying, and holding hostage the consumers in this country. Their demands are out of this world. They don’t want to pay anything toward healthcare, they don’t want to pay anything toward their pension. Free rides. Tired of it, sick of it. I am sorry, but that little girl does not look like she is starving or is dressed in rags.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 7:01pmFor her sake, I hope so. But, if he talks this way & treats his daughter this way in public….makes you wonder how he behaves at home. Children learn from example. Sadly, this is probably the same example she sees everyday at home.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 5:16pmI would love to move to any of those states. Here in PA we have the most teacher strikes in the country. The unions hold the parents and children hostage until they get their deals. The kids have to make up days on Christmas, Easter, and other holidays to get their days in. It ruins the entire family’s plans. The teachers still get paid when they strike. But it just doesn’t end there, we have all kinds of unions here in PA. Our public bus system is bankrupt because of unions. They wanted more and more to the tune of some bus drivers making over 100,000 a year, and retiring at age 45 with full benefits. Our bus system sucks. They took off buses on some routes, and raised the rate. The suburbs have virtually NO bus service. Unions will kill this country, if it already hasn’t.

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 4:45pmStriking against cutbacks that are “a result of declining business”, brilliant. Would you rather the company go under and everyone loses their job? Who will you strike against then?

Posted on August 9, 2011 at 6:41pmmisery loves company i guess.Whats funny is that if you historically look at the unions the stable and teamsters unions protested the production of the automobile and funding for roads. Obama has also protested against ATMS for taking jobs from bank tellers. its called innovation people adapt and move on. Will we protest for construction workers when robots and machines can build buildings better and faster than they can? how about cashiers unions of the world unite when self checkout systems and home purchasing submarine the stores. “I guess we just have to remain like the Amish stuck in 1699 because we need to preserve union jobs
