Victoria’s Secret Model Who Quit Over Faith Tells Beck: ‘There’s No Happiness‘ in Getting ’Half-Naked’

Victorias Secret model Kylie Bisutti Speaks Out on Glenn Beck

On Monday evening’s episode of The Glenn Beck Program, Glenn interviewed former Victoria’s Secret model Kylie Bisutti, who quit a coveted modeling job with the mega-lingerie purveyor over concerns the role compromised her Christian faith.

She claims that even though it seems she gave up everything, all the publicity generated from her decision has actually helped, rather than hurt her career.

Glenn opened the segment by asking Bisutti how she came about finding her faith.

Bisutti, who grew up in Las Vegas — a town obviously known best for its “sins” — said that she started going to church only once she was in high school and that she wasn’t baptized until she was age 16. It was a school friend who introduced the budding model to faith and the Lord. Bisutti told Glenn that her mother, and later father, have also started to find God in recent years.

She discussed the dark side of modeling, touching on a world filled with a pressure to achieve “perfection” by losing weight, which, in many instances, leads to debilitating eating disorders.

Bisutti claims that even though she beat out 10,000 other aspiring Victoria’s Secret models, she soon realized — especially after starting to read the Bible more — that lingerie modeling was not conducive to “honoring God” or her new husband.

But it wasn‘t until she started posing for men’s magazines like Maxim and FHM that Bisutti truly started to recoil from her newfound occupation. “It really broke my heart” to pose in lingerie that was not for women but instead intended for other men to see, she said.

She asserts that she is “so much happier now” that she has “found” who she truly is.

For Bisutti, happiness is “not in that world, but in what I am doing now.”

“My faith is more important and I want to honor God,” she said. “I don’t feel like I am honoring him when I am half-naked.”

While she claims that some people have tried to talk her out of quitting lingerie modeling — and even ceded that one major apparel outfitter has refused to work with her since her decision — she beamed that America’s reaction been supportive.

Bisutti told Glenn that moving forward, she wants to work on being a “positive role model” for young girls and to impress upon others who perhaps have the same aspirations she once did, that there is “no happiness in getting that kind of attention” — in other words, “getting half-naked.”

“I thought all that attention, parties, runways would make me happy,” Bisutti reflected. “It was all empty and selfish, and really when it comes down to it… the only thing that makes you happy fulfillment and love for others.”

She told Glenn that even if she lost everything as a result of her choice, as long as her actions positively impact one girl, “it will have been worth it.”

Glenn closed the segment by mentioning the birthday well-wishes Bisutti Tweeted to Glenn just last week. It turns out, she is in fact, quite a fan of the Glenn Beck Program.

She will answer for every man (and I guess woman in our society today) that lusts after her as she dresses so modestly today. Lets see, boobs hanging out, tight red dress….pretty much like a whore. Then again, she is still has a lot of PRIDE to enjoy the publicity. You fellas keep lusting!!! Keep her company later….

Her boobs were not hanging out. I don’t even think you could say cleavage. I thought her dress was quite tasteful. You can be a Christian, and beautiful at the same time with out over doing it. I don’t think God expects women to dress like Ma Kettle, just modestly.

The thing I love about the Bible is the wisdom in it. It’s funny to see people point the finger at someone else trying to improve and find meaning in life when at the same time they themselves are living lives openly or in secret that are sinful beyond belief. The Bible is awesome. The key to gaining wisdom lies within it. I am a follower of Christ and that’s what makes it a little easier to drop the rock and walk away as others did when Jesus said the following:

“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” John 8:7

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” Matthew 7:3

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8

Beautiful young Christian woman with values; I‘m sorry but anyone who has a problem with that just ain’t right in the head……or they are jealous…. I‘m always amused by people who complain that women don’t dress like they did in the good old days… One of my hobbies has always been looking at old pictures, family albums, archives…etc. 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s, etc.. and while the dress she is wearing would have been considered Glamorous in those times and would have turned heads the same way it does now, it’s probably no more reveling that your mom or grandmaw wore when they were young…well unless you’re Amish (nothing against them, many live in my county).

Romneypaulbots: Apparently no one can do right in your sight, pharisee. Now go back to your pron.

Leslie Anne: I thought she was dressed very tastefully and looked very beautiful. And this is coming form a mormon. Don‘t hoist your personal modesty standards up and call all those who don’t follow evil. That is something the pharisees do.

Jrook: Give back money she legitimately made just because she recently made a life-changing decision? Why should she? She has already given up the copious amounts of money should would be making. That is just beyond stupid.

I’m left with the conclusion that, unlike conservatives, liberals like you three do not want others to be happy, because you yourselves are unhappy. It is the same pattern as wanting everyone to be poor so that everyone will be equal.

I have to agree with the comments, I was so thrilled to hear that she had made this decision that modesty was more becoming and her body was to be shared with her husband and she came to this realization because of her faith as a Christian. Then I see the photos of her from her interview with Glenn Beck; I am sorry but she does not bring glory to the Lord dressing like that. I go weekly to a ministry taping and we are told that what passes for acceptable dress maybe in California does not go over in the rest of the world – we are reprenting the ministry in our appearance and we need to be mindful of that. Cover your chest and no mini skirts or dresses; dress with dignity. We all who claim to be followers of Yashshua – Jesus are preaching with more then mere words, every aspect of our lives is being scrutinized. This young woman looks like nothing more then someone in the world. Red mini dress that she could have been poured into and very little left to the imagination. She wants to set an example for other young girls she needs to start with her own appearance. She is a very attractive person but she would be no less so if she presented herself in modest attire and let the inner beauty come through. We are to be the bride of Yahshua – not the whore of Babylon. I know that may sound harsh but those that claim to be part of his body must demostrate a difference from the spirit of the world, especially someone who wants to be a roll model for other young women.

also…I just have to say–her husband must truly be a great man of faith himself. And what a good example he is to other men! The way that he loved her, respected her, and prayed for her through the whole process that brought her to this decision. he didn’t pressure her, didn’t get jealous or controlling or paranoid like a lot of men would…no. He cared for her heart and committed himself to being a pillar of strength for her to lean on so that when she DID make this decision–it was her own–born out of her own faith. not because she thought she would lose him or he was being legalistic or overbearing. He prayed and gave God room to do the work in her heart…what a great example of love and marriage working in a Godly relationship! How refreshing!! And hopeful…

“‘There’s No Happiness‘ in Getting ’Half-Naked’”

Well…the “happiness” usually starts after getting completely naked… ;)

But, in seriousness, I respect her. She’s living her morals.

I will take her word for why she makes the choices she makes. I respect her for her decision, and I am grateful that she, unlike many so-called Christians, gets it. When we say we follow Christ, it will make a difference in how I live, my choices have consequences and affects other people. For those who doubt her sincerity, or assign other motivations, a saying I like is, “Don’t measure another persons bushel by your own half peck.” Often when we assign motives to someone else, we are just indicating how I would respond if I was in their situation (more telling about us than them). Thanks Glenn for this kind of positive perspective.

Nope, You got it Kitchen Joe. Your right on. I had my experiences in life , I see as blessing now, that had me come to understand that not all the “stuff” in the world could fill that void. It was only through faith and the empowerment of the spirit, I had been born again.Money is insignificant, I am in a place that is eternally joy. Glenn knows this as well. Same with this young lady. Unfortunately, for some of us, the only way to come to find this out is to have tried to stuff the world in that empty space, always feeling empty, no matter how much I had. Bless you brother !!

Thanks for the positive responses. I did not write for that, but I am encouraged. I have seen several responses that show a response I have had in the past, but by His grace it will stay there. We find what we look for in people. I see the glass for her being 7/8 full, and since I believe that 7/8 is Him, I trust that He will be able to take care of her. My responsibility is that I keep my eyes on Him (Jesus), and look out for what I know He needs to do in my life. The more I see what He has done for me, the more grace I will have for others. That is the word for today for me, grace. GRACE TO YOU TODAY!

absolutely! it’s time for women to stop being treated like they are prudes and backwards for simply desiring the loving respect of a committed husband with whom to share themselves fully. the so-called ‘sexual revolution’ has destroyed the lives of so many. and women have paid the highest price of all.

men of honor MUST stand up and help turn the tide in this nation again. Not through legalism–but through straight-up love and respect. next time you see a woman you don’t think well of–consider that it is likely she has NEVER been truly loved or respected in her life by a man. And most likely has suffered a great deal of emotional and/or physical or sexual abuse long before you ever met her. BE that man.

This is truly inspiring. I am so thrilled that a beautiful creation of God wants to serve Him so much that she honors her body and wants to inspire other young women to live out their faith and be real. This is the exact model (pun intended) for any Christian, but especially Christian females. God bless you!

I will have to agree with TXWHEELS on this one….Only mis-guided or attention getting people would be modelling skimpy clothes in the first place…I am glad she saw the light to stop doing it but I have to lean towards TXWHEELS view that she is working the system and even says so in a way when she states this has helped her career….that is what I would say too!

Mmmm… I personally enjoy being fully nude, in the privacy of my own home. It’s warm, no strangers can see me, and I’m not ashamed of my body. I’m also fairly sure, that even Jesus would not object.
However- I would not do it in public- unless a LOT of Ag or Au, was involved. (I’m not “poor”- I mean a LOT). :)

      Laura,

A lot of information not required, but thanks anyway. The problem with your “price” is that, using just the financial view, the transaction must be regulated by the free market. Under those terms, the item, in this case your body, should be measured by the laws of the free market in order to check if the value attached to the exposure of such item is correctly related with its physical qualities. If so said item is morbidly obese or full of cellulite, A LOT of Au or Ag would not probably meet the market standards, even if it meets your mental ones….:):)

I‘d hazard to guess she’s getting exactly what she wanted out of all this, which is attention.

If she really quit for the reasons she says, She would have simply left quietly.
Of course that wouldn’t have gotten her any publicity..

Why does there always have to be someone negative in such a positive and inspiring situation? She didn’t ask for all the “attention,” as you claim. People like Glenn Beck came to her and wanted her to share because it is not only the right thing what she did, but it also will inspire other young Christian women to do the same thing in their own lives: live for Christ daily and honor your body with everyone. There is no need for this negativity here. She‘s a stark contrast to the other celebrity’s out there who do nothing but drink, smoke, cuss, and other stuff as well. Would you rather they be the voice of inspiration?

wow. you are SO wrong. what she did has taken great courage and a strong faith and conviction that God was calling her out of that. And it WAS her point to do it very publicly and in a high-profile way–precisely to reach as many young girls, and frankly–though she may not realize it–many women of various ages. One of the fastest growing age groups for eating disorders is women in mid-life. the darkness that women and girls face EVERYDAY in our society is nearly unbearable at times. At every turn we are taught that our value and worth comes from ‘being sexy’ and/or ‘hot’–skinny, etc. Yet it’s a catch 22–because while that is what we are taught–and there are huge expectations placed on us to be that way–from men as well as other women–we are despised and disrespected for it. yet if we choose to dress more modestly and conduct ourselves in a godly fashion–we are mocked and despised for THAT. I thank God for every voice like hers out there–seeking to change the tide–to say, “We DO NOT have to live this way ANYMORE! We are FREE in Christ Jesus! Free to be respected and loved for all that God made us to be as women.” Beautiful, yes. But women who take care of our hearts as well as our bodies. Women who are cherished for all that we are. Women have GOT to stand together on these issues–we must fight for one another’s hearts. And men of honor MUST arise to stand among their friends and say, “HEY! It is NOT okay to treat women that way.” A LOT needs to change!

“But I say unto you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to them who hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them who despitefully use you.”
And why is that? Because it reflects on your heart. It describes you.
And like Jesus said: it is not a hard thing to love those who love you back, but it is a great thing to love those who do not love you back.
And I would surmise that is why God lets the sun shine on the devil.
