I teach my children about physics and the futility of law to protect you from anything. The law only addresses what happens AFTER you fail to look both ways before you cross the street, and are hit by a car. It does not however stop the car from hitting you.

I really wish the kids at OSU would learn that, but they’re utterly clueless, I hate driving near campus, which is almost unavoidable if you travel through Columbus (Ohio). They’re worse than clueless, they actually think that the law means that they don’t even have to look at the road and that cars will magically see them. Yikes.

Yeah that was very cruel but in lawless events such as we have been witnessing things will always spiral out of control, so I cannot say I am shocked and this may be only the beginning of the horrors to come. To pray and hope for peace and stability in the middle east is time very well spent.

I have great compassion for many, perhaps most, of the citizens in Egypt. This is ruthless and careless and should not happen. That being said, I think I read that approx. 21% of the citizenry are Christians of some sort. The cruel or insensative comments here are caulous at best. Perhaps we should consider placing our distain for certain sects in the proper place rather than giving the blanket approach to all Egyptians and associating them all to the MB or some other radical faction. We need to pray for peace both there and in all parts of the middle east, especially for Israel.

Let me clarify. I have read some of the most compassionate and caring posts on this site.

There always seems to be someone waiting in the wings to remind us that our behavior is inappropriate as soon as we start cutting up a little. Give people a break, every post does not need to be scrutinized by the moral majority to insure that it is politically correct. The people here are for the most part Christian who DO pray for peace, cut us a little slack once in a while.

No Untameable…I’m all for one speaking their mind…so don’t get me wrong and I apologize if I offended you. Really, I’m sorry. I just think that those of us, including you in this equation, who are more sensible should bridle some of our comments with truth over this particular, emminet and terrible upset in the middle east. That way when the left reads our comments there will be more credibility in them. I appreciate what you contribute to most of the discussions here on the Blaze and just want the play to reside where it is appropriate and seriousness to reside when it is appropriate.

Again, thank you for your contributions. I’m not trying to mediate discussions here…just trying to call for cool and wise heads.

If we‘d woken up in the 70’s after the Oil Embargo and made securing our own domestic resources a National Security Priority, gotten past the 3 Mile Island incident and built another 100-200 more nuclear plants and essentially neutered the Middle East as a power-broker for the worlds energy needs, things would be much much different today…

Remember Europe pretty much leap frogged the Middle East in Technology and Commerce several hundred years ago, the Middle East was content with what little it had and what little it meant to the world… once Oil became a needed necessity and the Middle East knew the world needed them, thats when all of the chaos and whining and insanity started and just got worse and worse as they gained more power because the world needed them more and more…

We in the United States need to put down literally ALL talk of any nonsense other then the Repeal of Healthcare and the massive cutting of all entitlements. Congress and the Senate need to Act NOW and have immediate National Security debates and bring some bills to the floor immediately making the need for drilling, Natural Oil and the immediate granting of licenses for Nuclear Plants the most important things on the agenda…

Furthermore, as part of the bill — All energy related efforts deemed immediate National Security authorized should receive unchallengeable waivers from any blocks, suits, etc from the EPA, Greenpeace and every tree-hugging nutjob group out there, because it is because of them that our Nations ability to harness its own Natural Resources has been stifled to nearly fully choked off and it MUST end this year and we need to make ourselves full blown energy miners and start pulling the needed resources from the ground NOW…

In 6-9 months the entire Middle East is going to be on fire and Saudi Arabi is going to be stuck dead center of it all, with hostile nations surrounding it on all sides… watch how quickly Saudi Arabi offers (aka BEGS us) the US $20 a barrel to secure and protect them from being over run by an Iranian lead coalition to topple the Saudi Arabian country…

The situation is out of hand. Emotions are now driving all sides. This is just too much pressure laid on the Police after days of chaos. They are human too (afraid) and will not be able to keep their own emotions in check, much less control the rioters. Things will get worse.

I believe so, Sheris. At least that‘s how it’s done in Western Countries. More proof against vaunted Islamic society. Their schools are incapable of teaching people the difference between sideWALK and Traffic LANE.
Emergency vehicles should never be blocked for your own agenda.. you have no idea what the emergency is.. so the marchers were wrong. Period. Walking in the middle of a major thoroughfare is braindead dumb.
Advice to future marchers: DON’T PLAY IN TRAFFIC! If a vehicle is approaching at a high rate of speed.. move laterally, fast, to escape. Cheers.

Well in my American neighborhood, all the parents seem to think the street is a playground for their small children. I have even been bitched out by one of the loving mothers of the rug-rats. She felt I was driving too fast. I pointed out that I was driving the speed limit, and that maybe she should find some other place for her precious to play. Like maybe her yard! Gee, strange! From that point on I never received a friendly smile & wave from her ever again. But her darling continued to play in the street.

I have witnessed occasions where there were eleven of those little plastic battery powered toy cars rumbling slowly up and down the street. You know, like the old peddle cars of the past. Now they charge their re-chargeable batteries and away they go! Just another reason kids are fat these days. They don’t have to exercise while playing anymore!

You are correct, my etheral friend.
However, have no doubt they are instigating continued violence and before the dust settles the Islamcists will make a play for power. Sad, really. The protestors are wanting freedom, and that is one of the first things Sharia takes. My heart weeps for the damage they will do to people and place. The ruins of an ancient civilization will likely be destroyed/damaged/etc as they proclaim Egyptian Gods and you know Allah can’t allow that. The pyramids will become places for people to disappear and be tortured.
Equality? Safe from exploitation? We know that the only people protected and advanced by Sharia are those in the right religous Party. It’s simply secular State Control done under the guise of Theology and Religion.
I only know of one monotheistic belief system that allows for man to govern himself. It isn’t headed by Allah or some fraud named Mohammed. Or was it muhammed?

Much worse behavior than this is common in the Muslim world. In Afghanistan for example, Muslim men use prepubescent boys as doxies.

The authorities in Egypt must surely know the names of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders. They should selectively clamp down on the Brotherhood. That would greatly reduce the violence and save lives. It is a perfectly defenseable position.

I thought he said America had been arrogant in the past when we tried to impose our will on other countries. Then he goes on TV and says they need to transition power now. I hope everything works out for the best of the Egyptian people. Should be an interesting weekend there.
