Vid Shows Young American ‘Jihadist’ Firing AK-47 While Chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’

PITTSBURGH (The Blaze/AP) — A man charged with biting two FBI agents who struggled to keep him from grabbing a loaded 9 mm pistol in his jacket was ordered jailed until trial after a federal judge was told he communicated online with at least two people accused of terror-related crimes.

Emerson Begolly was ordered detained Thursday after a Pittsburgh FBI agent testified he had unspecified contact with a man who has pleaded guilty to threatening the creators of the animated “South Park” TV show for perceived insults to the prophet Muhammad and with a woman who’s accused of using the screen name Jihad Jane and conspiring to kill a Swedish cartoonist who had offended Muslims.

FBI agent Thomas Ferguson III didn’t suggest Begolly aided Zachary Chesser, of Bristow, Va., or Colleen LaRose, of Pennsburg. Nor did he suggest Chesser or LaRose knew about Internet postings attributed to Begolly about making Columbine-style attacks on schools or taking hostages at schools to leverage the release of Muslim prisoners.

Rather, Assistant U.S. Attorney Soo Song suggested Begolly’s links to other terror defendants show his online pro-terror comments and weapons training videos were more than idle musings.

Begolly, 21, was moving “closer and closer to bringing his aspirations and words to fruition,” Song argued.

For all their violence, however, Begolly‘s postings weren’t criminal and FBI agents had no reason to arrest Begolly before they approached him sitting alone in his mother’s car in a fast-food restaurant’s parking lot in New Bethlehem on Jan. 4, Ferguson acknowledged.

The FBI, apparently alarmed by his Internet postings and other actions, had still-sealed search warrants for the homes of Begolly’s divorced parents, about 60 miles apart in western Pennsylvania.

Begolly‘s mother worked with the FBI to get him out of his father’s residence in Mayport, Clarion County, by telling Begolly his grandmother was dying so he’d agree to go back to her home in Natrona Heights. As part of the ruse, Begolly’s mother stopped at the restaurant and went inside to get a drink.

That’s when two agents approached the car and asked to speak with Begolly, who, authorities say, screamed and reached for his weapon and bit the agents, prompting the charges he now faces.

Begolly’s public defender argued he reacted that way because he has a form of autism.

At a hearing last week, a different agent testified the FBI feared an armed confrontation if it tried to search for Begolly’s computers and weapons, which is why it resorted to the dying-grandmother ruse.

Public defender Marketa Sims said she‘ll fight Thursday’s ruling in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. She said it’s wrong to jail Begolly until trial – or to try to have him committed to a mental institution, as agents unsuccessfully did the day of his arrest – based on Internet activity even the FBI acknowledges isn’t criminal.

“That’s not America,” Sims argued to U.S. District Senior Judge Maurice Cohill Jr. “The fact that he says things on the Internet that you don’t agree with, you don’t put him in a nut house.”

Song insisted that prosecutors weren’t pushing to jail Begolly for his thoughts, but because his actions showed he planned to act on them.

Sims wanted Begolly released to his father, Shawn Begolly, who was in the court but declined to comment.

But Song noted Shawn Begolly had recorded Internet videos of his son shooting an AK-47 rifle at a pumpkin, after which the father could be heard saying, “You wounded him now!”

“He said, ‘You wounded him now!‘ He didn’t say, ‘You hit the pumpkin, son!” Song argued, noting Begolly was wearing a camouflage jacket with Islamic slogans on shoulder patches and shouting “Allahu akbar,“ a slogan shouted by attacking terrorists that means ”God is great!”

Song said 14 weapons taken from Begolly‘s room in his father’s house included three AK-47-style assault rifles, one kept loaded under his pillow. Agents also said they found a Hamas flag with an Arabic message that means, “It was not you who killed them, it was God.”

Ferguson read pages of chat messages he said Begolly posted under the screen name Abu Nancy about filling station wagons with propane tanks that could be exploded on a target and other comments praising the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Ferguson said Begolly explained in other posts that he used the screen name, meaning “father of Nancy,“ because he acknowledged having an ”imaginary daughter named Nancy.”

Ferguson said Begolly’s focus could be summed up in one online chat message: “Bro, when I wake up in the morning the first thing I think about is killing. I think about killing all the time.”

Chesser, 20, pleaded guilty in October to trying to go to Somalia to join the al-Shabab terror network. He‘s expected to receive a prison term of at least 20 years when he’s sentenced next month.

LaRose has pleaded not guilty to charges of helping foreign terror suspects intent on starting a holy war. She’s awaiting trial in federal court in Philadelphia.

    It sounds like the father is another of those jelly spine Muslim extremists that trains and sends their children out to die while they hide at home and avoid any danger to himself. Another yellow bellied coward.

    Not saying Sims is right or left, but isn’t this the argument the left is trying to use to shut down talk radio? Because Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. have differing opinions, they need to be monitored, censored or shut down by using the Fairness Doctrine.

    Anyone else believe that vermin like this simply need to be put down. Dead people cannot hurt good people. Bad dead people are good people after their demise. Prisons are full anyway so it’s economically feasible that a post, a rope and a bullet are an intelligent solution to bad people.

    “One week ago, I went to Ohio on business and to see my father.. On Tuesday, November the 17th, I returned home. If you read the papers the 18th you may have seen a blurb where an AirTran flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston due to a man who refused to get off of his cell phone before takeoff. It was on FOX. This was NOT what happened. I was in 1st class coming home. 11 Muslim men got on the plane in full attire. 2 sat in 1st class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the 1st stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she was not there.

    The 2nd man who answered the phone did the same and this took out the 2nd stewardess. In the back of the plane at this time, 2 younger Muslims, one in the back, isle, and one in front of him, window, began to show footage of a porno they had taped the night before, and were very loud about it. Now – they are only permitted to do this prior to Jihad. If a Muslim man goes into a strip club, he has to view the woman via mirror with his back to her…don’t ask me..I don’t make the rules, but I’ve studied) The 3rd stewardess informed them that they were not to have electronic devices on at this time. To which one of the men said “shut up infidel dog!”
    She went to take the camcorder and he began to scream in her face in Arabic. At that exact moment, all 11 of them got up and started to walk the cabin. This is where I had had enough! I got up and started to the back where I heard a voice behind me from another Texan twice my size say “I got your back.“ I grabbed the man who had been on the phone by the arm and said ”you WILL go sit down or you Will be
    thrown from this plane!“ As I ”led” him around me to take his seat, the fellow Texan grabbed him by the back of his neck and his waist and headed out with him. I then grabbed the 2nd man and said, “You WILL do the same!” He protested but adrenaline was flowing now and he was going to go..

    As I escorted him forward the plane doors open and 3 TSA agents and 4 police officers entered. Me and my new Texan friend were told to cease and desist for they had this under control…I was happy to oblige actually. There was some commotion in the back, but within moments, all 11 were escorted off the plane. They then unloaded their luggage. We talked about the occurrence and were in disbelief that it had happen, when suddenly, the door open again and on walked all 11!! Stone faced, eyes front and robotic (the only way I can describe it).

    The stewardess from the back had been in tears and when she saw this, she was having NONE of it! Being that I was up front, I heard and saw the whole ordeal. She told the TSA agent there was NO WAY she was staying on the plane with these men. The agent told her they had searched them and were going to go through their luggage with a fine tooth comb and that they were allowed to proceed to Houston . The captain and co-captain came out and told the agent “we and our crew will not fly this plane!” After a word or two, the entire crew, luggage in tow, left the plane. 5 minutes later, the cabin door opened again and a whole new crew walked on.

    Again…this is where I had had enough!!! I got up and asked “What the hell is going on!?!?” I was told to take my seat. They were sorry for the delay and I would be home shortly. I said “I’m getting off this plane”. The stewardess sternly told me that she could not allow me to get off. (now I’m mad!) I said “I am a grown man who bought this ticket, who’s time is mine with a family at home and I am going through that door, or I’m going through that door with you under my arm!! But I am going through that door!!“ And I heard a voice behind me say ”so am I”. Then everyone behind us started to get up and say the same. Within 2 minutes, I was walking off that plane where I was met with more agents who asked me to write a statement. I had 5 hours to kill at this point so why the hell not. Due to the amount of people who got off that flight, it was canceled. I was supposed to be in Houston at 6pm. I got here at 12:30am.

    Look up the date. Flight 297 Atlanta to Houston . If this wasn’t a dry run, I don’t know what one is. The terrorists wanted to see how TSA would handle it, how the crew would handle it, and how the passengers would handle it.

    What’s amazing to me, is how relatively calm the far right has been over the last several years. While the far left continues to come unhinged, the far right Americans have stood their ground, but not initiated and/or engaged in the violence. Perhaps the actions of a corrupt Presidency and Dem controlled Congress is SO obvious, that nothing else is “required”. The liberals need an OKC bombing incident, (according to Mark Penn, Democrat pollster), and while the left continues to poke all working Americans with a cattle-prod, it doesn’t seem to be working. Now, Obama, as desperate as he is, has called out donors to generate $1B to finance his campaign. Just keep feeding the liberals their own rope…they are tying the knots themselves.

Trust is earned by ones actions. Funny how everyone in this clip is not even of Arab decent. ??????? The real threat is in Lebanon and Al Sadr returning to Iraq!!!!!! No where are these stories being given much space in the MSM !! ?????

      Actually, It is against the law. Federal form 4473 has a question “Have you ever been declared mentally incompenent? if I remember correctly. If answered “yes” the purchase stops. This shows up on NICS (National Instant Check System) as well. However, some states have it where if you get pyschiatric help on your own it can’t be reported. Virgina changed that requirement after the multiple shooting at Va.State U.

    Personally I think he ought to move in with his public defender, her husband and children (if there are any) and bring his gun. Give him a computer. Rule one: You can’t lock your bedroom door. Rule two: No checking the computer to see who he is targeting or speaking to. Rule three: When he threatens you or the public you can’t call the police for help. I guess it is okay for the public to be put in danger if it doesn’t affect you lest you be reminded of the AZ massacre.

      Especially, juries and such.

      So, all that really matters to them and most LE agencies these days is that the end justifies the means.

      The rights and liberties of Americans of Americans and especially that old, dusty, dried up document written with quill feathers and parchment paper is of no importance to the FBI and ESPECIALLY judges/courts.

      They admitted they approched him WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE in the parking lot of the whatever and that his internet postings were NOT illegal yet they still want his civil rights violated even further!@

      Telling isn’t it?!

      The rule of law means nothing in this country anymore because most of the people would say, “yea, but under THESE CIRCUMSTANCES I think it’s ok.”

      And, there you have another example of how America got to where she is today.

      Notice how they try to play down how they handled the situation and the individual in question. Why? One reason and one reason only. He is a defender of Muhammad. Consistent with all the actions of this Administration….every effort has been made to minimize the case with this guy. NOW…had this been a conservative Tea PArty Republican white dude that was angry at the media for their attacks against Christianity or health care or whatever…he would have been put away indefinitely and immediately identified a terror threat. A trial would then be schedule as a matter of procedure. The guy would be guilty..no questions asked. Notice nowhere in the story is this guy identified as a TERROR THREAT.       Slash them with a thousand cuts I believe the new strategy is. Why go through all the cost of teams, training, money & time when all you have to is find some fringe elements of American society. These folks are easily indoctrinated & a lone perp. & takes much less. time. The goal is to not be able to look at your neighbor next door & wonder if that guy is going to be the next one on the news shooting innocent people.

      I YELL THE SAME THING EVERTIME I BURN A COPY OF THE KORAN.

      The FBI has fabricated this video and story. The FBI is now the American version of the 1930s Nazi Waffen SS State Secret Police.. J. Edger Hoover must be turning over in his grave. Hoover had devoted his life to creating an FBI that was honorable and trusted. Today its no different than the TSA.

      happyboy the Waffen SS was a part of the military arm of the SS. Their primary mission was to act as Hitlers bodyguard.
      The Gestapo filled the roll of the FBI.
      Just thought you should know.
