Video Captures Man’s Shocking Tumble Onto Tracks as Train Approaches

Some quick-thinking, Boston transit riders are being hailed as heroes after they rescued a man who fell onto a set of subway tracks and was nearly hit by a train.

The incident was captured on the subway station’s security camera:

Boston’s Fox 25 reports:

In the surveillance video of the tumble, you can see the lights of an oncoming train pulling up to the platform as the man falls.

Before that train pulled into the station, several bystanders jumped into action, pulling the man off the tracks and back onto the platform.

The man is expecetd to be OK.

This isn’t the first time such an incident occurred at that same station. In 2009, a drunk woman fell onto the tracks and the conductor was able to stop the train just feet before hitting her:

MAYBE they need finally should place some barriers that open only when a train is there? This is ridiculous. I saw that video of a baby stroller rolling right onto the tracks. What about curious, small children? We can put a satellite into space, but can’t protect passengers from moving trains?

Looks like the Boston subway is using face recognition software?
Anyone else notice those red boxes around all the people….

Big Brother, you would think with the ability to track people like that it could alert the oncoming train of an person on the tracks.. maybe that‘s what it’s for?

i can not believed that someone put down their camera,to help save this man,i am glad they did,it shows there are still people who care and would sacrifice themselves for someone else.there is hope yet for our country, when people still believe in one other and that great things can happen when good people think not of themselves, but others first, the people who stepped up to help, should be called hero’s and should be commented for their bravery.

Very scary stuff … my mother always said to stand back against or by the wall until the train is “in the station” .. now it is also a good idea since you are less likely to be approached from behind. Glad the man had heros and angels around him.

i was at the 8/28 in D.C. after the end of rally at the closest train station to the National Mall, we witnessed the crowd push an elderly man on the tracks. not intentionally, it was just pure numbers and little security. we were above and watched it happen. The cops did nothing except tell rescurers to stay off the tracks. several in the crowd jumped on the tracks to rescue man, but the 6 cops that could have prevented the incident just watched.

What? Are you telling us you have never fallen in your life? Do you think people pick and choose where to fall and not to fall?

      Get serious!
