Video Captures Obama in Secretive Exchange of Notes With Air Force General

Take a look at this picture from Friday, April 29th.  President Obama is greeting Brig. Gen. Ed Wilson after Air Force One landed at Cape Canaveral:

Seems pretty ordinary, right?  A typical tarmac greet for the Commander-in-Chief.

But there may be a little more to the brief moment at the bottom of the airstairs.

The state-owned Italian television channel Rai News has posted a video that highlights a curious exchange between the two men:

(h/t Drudge Report)

Rai News captions their YouTube video this way:

The italian channel Rainews discovered an exchange of two small pieces of paper between President Obama and General Wilson when on April 29 the American President, few hours after he gave the order to kill Osama Bin Laden, landed at Cape Canaveral airport. While shaking hands with the general President Obama passed a small piece of paper and received another one in exchange.

Let’s break it down by a few freeze frames.

Here Obama makes the initial move to have the note/paper/item in his hand:

He then positions it to pass to Wilson:

Wilson stretches out his hand to receive the item:

Obama places the item in Wilson’s hand:

Here’s a close-up from the actual AP photograph of that moment:

Wilson then moves to retrieve his item for the President:

Here comes the pass:

Pass complete, Obama moves to place the item in his pocket:

Slick.

So far the “challenge coin” theory is leading in comments.  Thoughts?

The only reason anyone assumes that he passed him a paper comes from the Italian reporters suggestion that it was “piece of paper”. You can only tell that something was passed by their hand motions… the camera doesn’t catch the actual item. If it wasn‘t challenge coin and people aren’t just poking fun, then what possible reason would a President have to need to pass a secret note to one of his own generals?

I’m thinking Obama thought he was just tipping the chauffeur.

Wow, The Blaze is getting really desperate. Has The Blaze touched on the fact that their are high ranking officials around the world and former upper government people who claim that Bin Laden’s been dead since 2001?

Does The Blaze not find it strange that the most wanted man in the world was Killed then hastily buried at sea?

If The Blaze isn’t investigating this OBVIOUS poorly executed HOAX then the BLAZE is complicit in it, and really working with the enemy.

If this thread wasn‘t so pathetic I’d laugh at it. This year’s events cement a victory for Obama in 2012. The Tea party is basically a bunch of diaper wearing losers. Like people are really going to vote for West or Cain or Palin or Bachman. One week your Great White Hope is Trump and then the next week it’s Chris Christie. Both are fat idiots (although Trump takes the lead here). And what is Obama slipping to the General ?? Who cares.

Might this have been an exchange of coins? We have a tradition in the military where you exchange your coin during the hand shake. All military commanders have a Wing coin which they exchange with honored guests. What I see on all of the videos reminds me of the exchange of a commorative coin. I know the President proabably has a challenge coin and I’m sure the Space Wing commander has one…

Like SEAGOINGHERO states above… this is an exchange of challenge coins and there is nothing sinister here going on. I have done this little exchange many times.

What is the president challenging with his “challenge coin”? Why is the maneuver done in such a clandestine fashion? Sure looks like somebody’s trying to conceal something!! The folded up paper is readily visible. Are the coins delivered in paper? Please reply, Sluggo 357, so we may all benefit from your knowledge of this unknown apparent “tradition?”.

All flying squadrons I was a part of had a unit coin. If you saw a squadron mate and he/she took out their coin you had x amount of time to produce yours or you had to buy a round of drinks, dinner was on you, whatever. Every commander I have worked for has had a challenge coin. A couple of commanders had two due to their position and/or responsibilities. Any one who has been in the military in recent years knows of this tradition. Every coin I have been given was passed to me via a hand shake… in one case two because this commander had two coins.
Many military members and civilians collect coins like those who collect patches. One individual I know had a rack of 60 millitary coins behind his desk because he traveled a lot and saw many units. I still carry two of my unit coins with me even though I have long since retired. Don’t read more into this than required. The Italian reporter may not know of this challenge coin “pass through a handshake” tradition. Here is a novel idea… Why doesn’t some one just call the office of this commander and ask? My bet is he gave the President his Wing coin and will laugh himself sick when he finds out why people are asking him the question.

Good heavens people. He was probably passing a comemorative coin. It is done everywhere in the Armed Forces along with the upper echelons of Government. Yes, the President has a coin as does this Air Force General Officer. It is the proper tradition to pass the coin in the shaken hand. Trust me, this Italian news agency is as bad at investigation work as the Lame Stream Media here in the US.

Just make sure we all vote him out in the next election and make sure we never vote another person in from Chicago unless we actively clean up that trash hole of an area. It seems all of politics is corrupt from that area of the country.

There’s no conspiracy here. The president passed a challenge coin, and the officer gave him one in return. Challenge coins are found in every military unit, and most law enforcement agencies. They are collected and displayed, much like unit patches were at one time. Your ideas about this exchange are why some people think we’re nuts.

You’re kidding, right? Even the Blaze cannot figure out this is a challenge coin exchange and a common way to do it? Let’s not take our eye off the ball, folks.

Google “challenge coin” or talk to a vet.

Now, why can’t we see the death photos or hear the audio of the videotapes or see all of them? Oh, yeah, that’s right bin Laden actually has been dead since late 2001. Spend some time researching the reports around that time. Then look back at the events of the past few months through the lens of knowing that Obama knew what was coming this last week. Talks about “serious business” to attend to, release of birth cert, etc. Now is no time to take a nap – pay attention, folks. Pay close attention.

People better care. Obama is slowly replacing all high rank conservative officers with progressive ones and those officers are surrounding themselves with like minded Jr officers. He is getting those that will side with him against the American people and the Congress in all positions of command so they can control the military. He learned that from the Romans. It would shock you if you knew how many in command positions disagree with the constitution and are willing to over throw it.
You pass notes when you want no tracable record of what was said. If Gen Wilson is smart he will keep his note in a safe place. Unneeded generals are soon Sh ot.

Anyone who thinks these are notes is a moron. If you expect an Italian reporter to get this story right, you are also an idiot. The fact that the blaze doesn’t know what is going on here is depressing.

They are exchanging coins. Most military commands have a unit coin. Most unit commanders have their own personal coin. These are often given away as a reward for a job well done, or traded.

Some military men uses these at bars. You carry the highest rank coin with you, show it when you get to the bar, and your friend with the lowest ranked coin has to buy the first round.

If you zoom in you (which I did in photoshop and with some computer enhancement) you can see President Obama is handing the General a $100,000 bill, probably to keep his mouth shut about OBL and the truth. Obama thinks he’s so smart.

Thanks Blaze for reporting on this important story! Notice that the lame stream media didn’t report this. Yes another example of them protecting this corrupt administration. They’re bunch a bunch of criminal liars, that’s all.

You got that right it is used a lot in Chicago and thought nothing of. I wonder what had to be passed like that between the President and the General, why could they just have a brief meeting or step aside if there was info that needed to be shared. Humm, it could not have been info, must have been some type of bribe. Or maybe love notes.

This seems innocuous enough…….I’ll go with the exchange of collector coins. Okay.

But….PLEASE….is this really what the leader of the free world (or what used to be the free world) and our military leaders do???? I’m even more afraid now…….

I saw this one but I also saw another one just the other day. He had his hand in his left pocket and he usually comes off the planes with both hands at waist and arms bent (kinda weird) When he went to shake hands with the man in camo , not dress uniform(not sure who he was) he passed off a piece of paper to him.

It worked in Chicago, why not elsewhere ? We all know by now that BHO is an unconventional President, it’s part of his “ fundamental transformation of America”. Hey, he’s the Commander-in-Chief of all USA military forces, he doesn’t have to obey the rules of “chain of command ”. Rules are for eveybody else, not for this POTUS. Don’t we know that by now ?

      They are exchanging:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin

Happens all the time. Admirals, generals, and government officials all have their own personal coins and exchange them or hand them out. I got one from Colin Powell when i met him on New Year’s in New York and one from Sec. of Defense Gates when he visited my command.
