Facing a Sunday deadline to vacate their encampment, Occupy Pittsburgh demonstrators nevertheless stormed a local Target retail store Saturday in protest of the company’s hiring practices.

Protesters in the “flash mob” chanted and marched inside the store for about 10 minutes before dispersing, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. Among their gripes was the company’s policy of hiring part-time versus full-time workers, the newspaper said.

Police were on the scene but no arrests were made.

Video posted online shows a noisy crowd of protesters marching from the store’s entrance up to the main level, chanting at customers and employees who were caught off guard.

“What do we want?“ ”Unions!“ ”When do we want ‘em?“ ”Now!” protesters shouted.

Local media reports about the number of protesters that participated varied: The Post-Gazette described it as “nearly 100” while the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review pegged the number closer to 350.

According to the Tribune-Review, the march was preceded by a “human rights rally” nearby.

Occupy Pittsburgh has been ordered to vacate its park encampment by Sunday, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times. BNY Mellon, which owns the park, informed protesters Friday they must leave and said it will ask a court for an injunction if they do not.

Dig in your heels, folks. This is war. The goal of these Occupy Wall Street protesters is to wear down the will of the American people. They are NOT the “99%” but are using Lenin’s strategy: “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.” They hope to stir up enough animosity and resentment among the working class so that more will join them. Those of us who oppose them are already marked as an “enemy of the people.” One cursory look at Stalinism exposes the insanity of that kind of thought.

I think the Millennials are lost in more ways than one. A few of them get it but most don’t and they think protesting Target is accomplishing something. Unfortunately, I think the truth will hit them only when they see the desolation and futility of their empty ideology in the form of a collapsed society.

back in the early ‘90 when Target first came to the area …….my cousin went to get a swimsuit in Target. FIRST time in my life when I ever saw the bottom half sold separately from the top half!!!! that is right !!! they told her you want the whole suit…..you have to pay $20 for the top and $10 for the bottom….now who in the hell ever bought a bikini without one or the other?? Some idiot in CORPORATE HDQ figured this is a good way to shake down the stupid customer. The whole idea is so cheesy/rip off that she left and went to Marshalls and got a whole suit for $12. The ethics of corporations is so sleazy…….I have no sympathy. Tear them all down and bring back ‘HONEST MOM AND POP STORES!!!”

CORPORATIONS ARE NOTHING BUT RIP OFF ………with no customer service….got your $$$$$…got a problem with the merchandise????? they give you such a run around and a headache… ruin your whole day with bad vibes of a nightmare of customers service….you wish corporations would just fold up and get the F out of the US altogether…..pushing cheap shat..that is junk and land fill in one or two months. Fifty years ago US goods were the best…CORPORATIONS HAVE TAKEN US goods DOWN TO A THIRD RATE HEAP OF JUNK. And out comes the union ties! Thugdome!
No one should be surprised, after all this OWS started in Canada, and Van Jones was up to his eye-balls in it. But progressives only have one real source of revenues, the unions with their workers and Congress! So the backing by union(s) was a given.

So now it’s time to pay up! Hit the bricks OWSers and chant the union lines! How long before they are set up in Wal-Marts all across the country? Do the unions hate any company more then Wal-Mart? All that success and they can’t get a dime of it!

All law enforcement have to do is enforce the laws! A few weeks in jail and a nice hefty fine will take the wind out of their sails.

Why are business’s pressing charges. The right to peacefully (all be it smelly and disease ridden) doesn’t apply to performing these assemblies on someones PRIVATE property. It may be a business, but it’s still owned by and individual or corporate body. If they go through the proper channels and want to LEGALLY assemble on the street out front, that’s fine. The constitution affords them that right. It does NOT give them the right to bum rush a business and cause chaos.

I think that all these stores should adopt and post a sign stating that unclean, untidy individuals will be provided a bath upon entering. Then simply man a water cannon at the entrances and let the scurvy turds have it when they come barging in.

Part of the problem with law enforcement is the sympathy towards the OWS group by unionized law enforcement, add a somewhat sympathetic juidiciary (depending on the region) and the right thing becomes a muddled mess with laws meant to protect all being selctively enforced and then when they are enforced only because of pressure from all sides to do as little as possible. The laws are not being applied equally and that is part of the reason why so many of us (who value and respect the euqal application of the law) are so damn frustrated. I‘m certain the OWS and it’s leadship have calculated this reality into thier action plans. Let’s just say that so far, the right and conservatives in general have held the line through some really obnoxious and dificult times. We have been goaded, insulted, marginalized, called every name in the book, put off, put down , ignored, ridiculed by the MSM for years and yet the OWS has failed up until now to pick a fight it so desperately needs. We must not show understanding to these people…rather, some resolve to allow them to beat thier heads against what should be a brick wall. The ballot box can only do so much but through the ballot box (beginning with Nov2010) is the only real way we can positively affect change that cannot be easily blocked (by actions like the OWS, the Union thuggery in Madison etc). We must however put pressure on local officials to uphold what is right. That is how we fight back.

I agree it was the students, and they were not any different than today’s. Hitler started going after the the denizens of the Universities to stop them from overtaking his power base. No doubt the citizens were behaving like ‘AnOregonian’, saying ‘lets treat our fellow citizens with love’. Later they cowered in fear as the furnaces were being built. When our Generals were marching these citizens through the camps to make them see what they had silently allowed, I wonder if people like ‘AnOregonian’ were among them? I agree with Beck concerning the danger spelled out in ‘Rules for Radicals’ about their desire to force martial law to further their goals so for now we must do within the law what we can to avoid this scenario. Unless they back us into a corner. Americans who are Patriots are more dangerous than badgers if this becomes the situation and once again we are being underestimated by the enemies of freedom. While they may succeed in bringing in the one world system I have no doubt it will be Patriots who cause the breakup of this system. I believe Revelations calls this the ‘deadly wound’. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be shopping with your children and be deluged in intimidation and fear of possible violence by these thugs. Remember they chased children going to school in NY. The police must start taking a more aggressive role, ignoring the liberal politicians ( also criminals) who side with

Businesses in my humble opinion throughout this once great country have bent over backwards for their workers. The worker in todays workplace enjoys more benefits than previous generations could dream up. These thugs will eventually move on to real anger when the system strains further under their weight. They will then be a in position to act with malice towards any business that does not go along with their views. Most businesses will close instead of giving in to their demands and thus the strain and downward spiral on the economy will be the undoing of us all. When that happens, all the fingers will be pointing at each other and civil War will be in the streets.

Free speech does NOT include the right to hold the intended audience hostage! Once the protesters reach a certain size relative to the forum (more for a park, less for a bus; more for an open sidewalk, less for a storefront; as much as 100% for a reserved space such as a theater or stadium, as few as one at a church service-depending on the interests of the others attending), those that choose NOT to listen become hampered in their efforts to avoid confrontation and become captive to the crowd. Free speech encroaches on individual freedom at the point immediately preceeding that size. We shouldn‘t have to codify the ’number’. When things get out of hand, a citizen complains and thnn the police enter the picture and make arrests and let the judge render an opinion. If there is a protest at my home and I cannot come and go freely, it isn’t about free speech; rather, it is about my freedom to come and go as I please and feel safe in my home, including arrival and departure.

“It is highly probable that not more than one out of a thousand voters knows what economists say about the effects of minimum-wage rates, whether fixed by government decree or by labor-union pressure and compulsion. Most people take it for granted that to enforce minimum-wage rates above the level of wage rates which would have been established on an unhampered labor market is a policy beneficial to all those eager to earn wages. They do not suspect that such minimum-wage rates must result in permanent unemployment of a considerable part of the potential labor force. They do not know that even Marx flatly denied that labor unions can raise the income of all workers and that the consistent Marxians in earlier days therefore opposed any attempts to decree minimum-wage rates.”

Unions are like the Medieval Guilds. Towards the end the guilds started making wage slaves of the poor. Look it up.

For example the cloth makers guild demanded that to work, a person had to give up their shears. These are tools that were passed down from father to son. Well a person had to eat. By giving up the shears, it took away capital from other guild members & put them in the lower class permanently.

Guilds started out as good organizations to fight the nobles. Unions have started out good. tell me that is going to last.

This is really disgusting to see these idiots disrupting regular people while they are out shopping. All these people are typical union people, thinking of nothing but their own desires and wants. It’s hard to believe that only 8 or 10% of the workforce is union but they can create so much noise. Puppets being led by liberal radicals going nowhere. What a useless group….

I wonder how much stuff was stolen when they went in there to protest.

It appears that blacks weren’t invited to this mob. They were doing it all wrong. Van Jones needs to open up more workshops.
