On Saturday night we brought you extensive coverage of the conflagration at the Occupy Denver protest.
We noted the police report that said a protester had pushed over a police motorcycle.
And now there is video of that exact moment:
(h/t to PG)
Of course the left version of this altercation has a certain kind of spin:
Frank “Frankie” Roper of Colorado Springs was Hospitalized on October 29th, 2011, after an altercation with Denver police. Mr. Roper was in Denver to be part of a nationally organized event to rally at state capitals within the Occupy Together movement in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. He and a dozen other protesters from the Occupy Colorado Springs site made an event out of carpooling to the Occupy Denver protests to march on the state capitol.
After a violent day of being met with tear gas and rubber bullets for a march that had previously received a permit under the auspices of medical marijuana protesting, a theme many Colorado occupation protesters also support, Mr. Roper had an altercation with police that would result in his hospitalization. A Denver motorcycle policeman frustrated with protesters in his way decided to charge the impeding crowd with his motorcycle, running directly into Mr. Roper with his motorcycle. Mr. Roper reacted by shoving the motorcycle, followed by a brief sprint when he saw that the officer was turning around for him. Mr. Roper made it about 10 yards before being gang tackled by police and severely beaten resulting in multiple lacerations to his face. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
They emphasize video of the moments after the actual motorcycle pushing:
And there is lengthy YouTubian commentary:

Feral people with no purpose but to start trouble and cause harm to property and people. I know libs like to call cops jackbooted storm troopers but they are acting soft and proper. If they really wanted to turn up the heat, the streets would be clear of these people in less than an hour.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 8:29amCops using motorcycles is the stupidest idea ever. They only use them cause they think they look cool and the cities that buy them usually see a return on the investment when the motorcycle cop pulls over more soccer moms and guys trying to get to work because he can hide more easily and get the drop on these “evil” speeders. In all actuality, having a cop on a motorcycle is nothing but asking for danger.
Seriously, if I were a person with no regard for human life and a cop tried to pull me over, I would just have to pretend to pull over then stop short and watch the lumbering ****** run into my tailgate while I put the truck in reverse and completely demolishe the bike and rider. OR I could pretend to “not see” the cop and when he came up to the side window to pull me over I could turn over on him while he inevitably only has one hand on the grips because he is pointing to the roadside and take his bike down leaving a 300 foot streak of former officer on the pavement.
Motorcycles used for police work are a dumb idea. They only work in the real world because most people are not remorseless animals and criminal masterminds. BUT, they are none the less more dangerous for the officers involved.
On the flip side, the officer in this video was ramming citizens with his motorcycle. His motorcycle being a deadly weapon, I would not be suprised to see someone knock it over and stop the assault that was taking place.

From the video he didn’t appear to be exactly anorexic, in fact some might judge him to be somewhat gravitationally challenged, yet he ran the perpetrator to ground within about a dozen strides. Posted on October 31, 2011 at 9:57am@ Ranger and Biohazard,
I‘ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t agree with what these protesters are doing. I do however think that we ALL have a real right to be upset and protest when our gov’t starts blatantly disregarding the Constitution and starts propping up businesses with taxpayer dollars and forces banks to dole out risky loans leading to a housing market failure and a recession along with the devaluation of our baseless fiat currency causing every American to pay more and work more for every item that they need to buy.
Also, you all are so against these OWS loons that you cannot even think straight and realize that by you agreeing that a protesting group should be assaulted physically and arrested, you are putting your own liberties and rights well within the grasp of gov’t control as well. And as the old saying goes, when they came for my neighbors I did nothing. So when they came for me, there was no one to help me. You all are going to perpetuate the loss of our rights and liberties and you don’t even realize it. I hope you all have one of those ah-hah! moments when this hits you. I don’t care if you agree with them or not, you should at least defend their rights to speech and assemble because if you deny them these rights, it makes it that much easier for your to also be denied. Ranger, if you really are a military man you should know that you took an oath to protect the Constitution. I ask you to keep it and not sell your rights away.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 7:44pmAmazing how a guy can step in front of a motorcycle that is going one mph, step slowly around the side of it, and push it down, with a Policeman on the motorcycle, it is filmed at normal speed, and a liberal can interpret this as ” the person was rammed, and appropriately pushed the motorcycle down in self defense”. There is obviously an alternate Universe which exists coincidently with the one that most of reside in. The alternate beings, like SGBT, cannot be expected to use rational thought in their interpretation of the facts. They are not able to process information that is right in front of them in the way that rational beings do. They do deserve pity, as it does not appear that they are able to break out of their alternate Universe, and likely will not become productive citizens able to offer anything of use to anyone outside of themselves, and likely will not be able to provide very well for themselves. Unfortunately, these pitiful people are being used as pawns by others with more sinister plans. If only they could realize that they are being used, and will be thrown out like yesterdays trash when the people that have used them reach their goals. ‘Useful Idiots’ is an appropriate description.

Can you give me a single legitimate reason why a police officer would be riding a harley davidson ****** through a grassy park unless his goal was to intimidate people with the threat of running them down and harming or killing them? This is basic stuff. If someone is running a vehicle through crowds to get them to leave, it doesn’t really matter how fast they are going or what the vehicle is. It is no more morally just than the Chinese military running protesters out of Tiennamen square with a tank. It is using the same threat of violence. How is it that you cannot see that?
like I’ve said a hundred times. I disagree with the message of the OWS crowd and think they are barking up the entirely wrong tree, but at least they are barking. And I joined the military and took an oath to defend their rights to speak freely and protest. I don‘t intend to have my voice silenced by the likes of you just as I won’t silence the voices of people I disagree with. It would be extremely easy for me as a person to say that MY life would be alot easier if the gov‘t just silenced everyone who didn’t share my views, but that does not make it right. And history will show that when people start saying that ANY group deserves to have its rights taken away, genocide will shortly follow.
I could list the hundreds of millions murdered in the last century alone by people who hold views like so many here have started spouting, but I believe you already know my examples.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 10:18pm@MHP, I understand your hatred for people who are of the communist / marxist mindset, and I agree that left unchecked they would turn this into a nation of slaves. Actually, I think we‘re already there as gov’t debt is slavery. But I digress.
The problem with your statement is that it is the kind that came along right before every genocide that happened in the last century. While I may disagree with some people to the point that my fists clench and my eyes about pop out of my head, I WILL NOT say that any group of people should die for any belief they hold or any other arbitrary reason that you can imagine. Some of the popular ones are religion, color, and family propensity for “ill breeding”. People who say things like you’ve said where the ones who brought us fitter family contests, Jim Crow laws, segregation, and the entire eugenics movement.
I sincerely hope that you will reconsider your comments and then temper your hate with a little humility and realize that you are speaking about human beings. I would certainly hate for you to one day wake up in a world that thought it fit to kill people who could be easily lumped into a description that you fit into. And I really mean that.
Every person has the rights to life, Liberty, and property so long as they accept that every other person has those same rights. When a person stops believing this and starts to violate others rights, especially to life, then we have a right to judge and deal with them individuall

Also, the majority of cops today do not keep people safe, far from it. There mere presence on highways causes more traffic accidents than speeding tickets ever prevent. How many videos has the Blaze posted of out of control officers who try to tell TEA Partiers (of which I am one, and also an 8/28 attendee) what they do and do not have a right to do? Posted on November 2, 2011 at 12:49pm@SGTB — There is a very good logical reason why police officers ride a Harley Davidson. #1) It is the BEST motorcycle on the market for the money. It outlasts other motorcycles. It can get into some pretty rough spots and come out okay. It’s well-built and can take all the punishment working in law enforcement can give it. Cities buy vehicles that can take the kind of wear and tear police officers have to put on those vehicles because of a public that can’t seem to understand that laws are NOT made to be broken. 2) An officer must spend 8 or more hours on that motorcycle per shift. I would want something comfortable and sturdy around me during that time. 3) As a taxpayer, I want our police officers to be safe and as comfortable as possible while doing a job that everyone else seems to hate. Of course anarchists don’t care a fig about the safety or comfort of “a cop”. They just want cops to go away completely UNLESS they are having a problem themselves and then they DEMAND a police officer handle the situation immediately. The man who knocked the officer off that bike got just what he deserved. You just don’t attack a police officer doing his job unless you WANT to be arrested. All you people who think you’re protesting “big money” need to realize that one day the tables will turn and they will be protesting you. Take care what you say because you may end up eating those words.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 8:51amBy your posting, I can assume that you don’t know about the Posse Commitatus Act. So I’ll tell you. The military is banned from being used in the policing of citizens of the United States. This Act was passed shortly after the civil war because northern troops were sent to the south to enforce anti-slavery laws. The results of this were that the southerner’s rights were being taken away from them by the northern troops, they beat and shot many men for apparently no good reason, and the entire nation was outraged. For this reason, they created the Posse Commitatus Act.
So now, the only military troops allowed to do policing work in your state are the National Guard troops that are from your own state. That is why it is always the National Guard who does search and rescue and aid after natural disasters as well. Even if a large Marine base is adjacent to where you live, Marines will not be allowed to take on this role. At least, their not supposed to. After Katrina, alot of units and commanders forgot this and some were used to patrol the streets of New Orleans. BUT, after seeing the police who were willing to tackle a grandmother who refused to give up her gun, and watching the Marines and National Guardsmen who refused any order to take guns from citizens, I’d rather have the Marines and Guard show up to help me any day. But I may be a liitle biased being a Marine myself.

This kid did get cought up in the emotion as the commentator said. AND HE PAID THE PRICE! Now, as for a “vicious beating,” the only thing vicious about it was the faceplant he took trying to get away from the officer (0:14 on first video). The officers involved showed enormous restraint. The tactic was text-book ground stabilization and application of restraints. No distraction blows or strikes of any kind that I could see. I’d say he got off easy. Well done Denver PD.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 2:20amMy favorite part is that after this punk pushes the bike and is apprehended the guy on the megaphone is calling the police out of control.
If this doesn’t prove once and for all these people are Anti-American I dont know what else will.
Shame on you who side with these Anarchists, Communists, Socialists, Islamists and Nazi’s.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 2:09amThis accusation of the P.O.S. being beaten by the cops AFTER pushing the bike over is a lie. The same injuries on his face are clearly visible at the 1:00 minute mark on the video 4th down from the top, watch it. He was injured BEFORE the bike was even tipped over! These lying bastards need to all have some sense “impressed” upon them!

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 1:33amThe Alpha Hotel assaulting the officer on the motorcycle could have been legitimately shot to keep him from assaulting and possibly injure the officer. These spoiled fools think this is a game and since mommy and daddy always let them do what they wanted to do, they think the police should too.

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 1:32amGee Mr. Roper, that video sure makes you look like a fool! Gosh, you travelled all the way from Colorado Springs for that nasty cut on your forehead! Frankly (no pun intended), you‘re lucky that’s all you got for your efforts! Oh, the Leftist press release of the incident bears NO RESEMBLANCE to the video record! Since the police officer you picked on was black and you are white, maybe you can file a racial bias complaint! Or, maybe he should! Wanna bet which one wins! Man, you are an embarrassment to all people who are ‘off-color’!

V-MAN MACE
Posted on October 31, 2011 at 12:25pmActually, public opinion is swaying against the Nazi Police State and their heavyhandedness in breaking up protests.
They shot a vet in the face with a teargas canister. Then they flashbanged the group of protestors trying to recover the limp body, the flashbang discharging within a foot of the head of the fallen vet.
So giggle and laugh and lick their boots. It’s not a good look.
Report Post »V-MAN MACE
Posted on October 31, 2011 at 12:31pmYou say public opinion is swaying against the protests, but it’s not, these protests are WORLDWIDE at this point, they are being defined as VIRAL.
The truth is that the mainstream media tries to portray this as violent protest by selectively airing the most provocative video (as usual, people are thrill seekers), while simultaneously snuffing out other relevant messages brought forth by some of the protestors. They‘re demogoguing the entire protest when the truth is everybody isn’t even protesting the same thing. I was protesting the Police State and the unconstituional Federal Reserve- not capitalism and the rich.
And on top of that, you have websites like this that moderate dissenting comments that may not fit the narrative that the MSM is promulgating.

You wrote: “And on top of that, you have websites like this that moderate dissenting comments that may not fit the narrative that the MSM is promulgating.” Where’s your proof? I’ve seen your many comments on here about how the police are nazis, anybody that doesn‘t agree with you are nazi sympathizing boot lickers and we’re living in a police state full of nazis. Looks like the Blaze isn’t moderating your stupidity. It sounds like you never got over your teenage angst….so go put on your Guy Fawke mask, watch V for vendetta and go lick Ron Paul’s boots…I don’t like the fed either but you and your ilk are just so damn annoying.
