There was a crazy ride in Steamboat Springs. Three people took their horses to several bars, Starbucks and Safeway.
All three galloped into a Safeway on Sunday. The riders scared shoppers and clerks. That came after they decided to ride into a local bar.
The Steamboat Pilot reported that police used a stun gun and arrested Michael Joseph Miller, because he ignored police orders. That happened at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to the Steamboat Pilot, the ride began more than 10 hours earlier atop Emerald Mountain.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 8:17amAs a horse owner and rider, these horses were exceptionally calm. Probably trained for the rodeo and immune to crowd noise. In addition, the report states the ride started ten hours earlier. The horses were probably exhausted.
I’m surprised they did not slip on the tile floors.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 11:03amYou can lead a horse to water, but ya can’t make them graze I the produce department. This is a classic example of equine operations in an urban environment. Suggestion for the future, pay before you leaves the store.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 5:07pmNo, trained for wrangling cattle, elk hunting, and ranch work. Ten hours at 8-10 thousand ft above sea level is nothing for these animals as long as they are hydrated. I have never met a Coloradoan that would mistreat his horse. The ride began 10 hours ago………intermixed with I assume, lunch, beer, whiskey, beer, whiskey.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 7:47amThey must have been riding cow trained horses. They are trained to NOT respond to loud noises or act up with a rider on them. When a horse “pairs up” with its rider, the “team” can be amazing.
Is this a response to the Occupiers being able to do anything they want?
Think about that.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 9:09amYou could be right on the money. Bet it started with a long ride, a “few” drinks, and thinking about what everyone else get’s away with. Or, they could have just had to much to drink. Great horses. That’s another subject, they are killing horses again in our country.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 9:46amBack in ‘55 we often rode our horses through the Pink Pony bar in Scottsdale, AZ. It was a regular tourist attraction and people loved it. We were too young to stop for a drink.

Posted on December 14, 2011 at 1:06pmIt‘s called ’training’ your horse to do what “you” want it to do NOT let them rule you. My best cow pony was a ex polo pony where they are “trained” to do things, like bump, other than being flight animal…some horses are trained with fire along with other techniques to embolden and move them away from skiddishness.
