Video Update: Cancer Patient Describes Urine-Drenching TSA Pat-Down

As we reported over the weekend, Thomas Sawyer, a retired Michigan teacher and cancer survivor, was on his way to Florida when an airport security check left him humiliated and covered in his own urine. Sawyer’s story stands out among the many incidents reported in the past week about invasive TSA screening procedures as agents neglected to respect Sawyer and his delicate condition and medical equipment.

“I didn’t know what to do. I felt kind of trapped,” Sawyer says, recalling the embarrassing episode earlier this month at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Sawyer sat down with Detroit’s WJBK and CNN for an interview:

Sawyer says he plans to file a formal complaint with the TSA.

    A person with a bomb is going to blow up stuff whether they are in a security line waiting to get scanned or if they make it on the plane with it. We need to stop them from getting in the country. Thats #1

    This guy is wimp. He should have demanded that the glorified fast food worker know about his medical condition and that he have a supervisor present before the pat down took place. Stand up for yourself. This junk would stop if Americans would stop flying for one week. Airlines could not take the loss in cash flow.

    It won’t be long before people get used to the searches. What will happen is the airlines will all become Federal Airways, and this will be done by the Republicans. The Super Highway will be built, and it will have the same sound barrier walls along side of it (the ones that you have already become used to looking at). But, the sound barriers will be twice as tall as the ones you see now. Then there will be drug trafficking all through it, which will cause people to be searched before entering it. You will, by then be used to the body searches. It will take a whole day before you can even begin the road trip because the lines will be so long. They will then close the Super Highway. The wall will still be there. It will be the WALL that divides the country, and we will then be known as USA East and USA West. You will not be able to see your family or friends ever again if they are on the other side. The first wall that the liberals ever built was in Israel to divide the Israelites. They are proud of this, and visit the wall frequently, and even pray to it and worship it. It‘s the best thing they’ve ever done (in their eyes), and they continue to do it. This IS the brick and mortar. God bless those who can see, in the name of Jesus Christ.

    Many men who have had radical prostate cancer also have to use a clip for incontinence. If that clip is removed, urine flows freely and especially if the men are not wearing a pad or Depend to catch it. I think when you buy an airline ticket, you should state what method you want for screening as well as any MEDICAL problem you have that would affect the process. There has to be some sensitivity for the folks who have these conditions and they should not be humiliated in this way. My heart goes out to Mr. Sawyer and all the others who have gone through something like this.

    Sensitivity and compassion and privacy is what is needed if TSA wants this to work.

    Osama BIn Laden and the Al-Qaeda fully approve of the the TSA pat downs and the upcoming TSA anal cavity probe inspections.Just think what it will be like when the first Muslim tampon bomber strikes. Those inspections are going be real messy. All joking aside… We are the losers in this and the Muslim radical fanatics are the winners. They are laughing and celebrating the loss of our freedoms and liberties .We have lost our basic civil liberties because our government is afraid to profile. All of the recent Muslim bombers, terrorist and killers had one thing in common …they all have Islamic surnames! Why hasn’t Bin Laden been captured by now? President Bush failed to capture Bin Laden and Now Pres. Obama is failing to capture him . Do you know how devastating it would be for the Americans to capture that sonsabitch.

    Common since and civil liberties have been flushed down the toilet for political correctness. What kind of husband and father just stands there while some TSA nimrod gropes and fondles him , his wive and children . We are see the beginnings of the Obama police state and its not just going to end at the airports.
    How much more are Americans willing sacrifice for political correctness?

    Did anyone else hear Rush Limbaugh today when he said that a TSA agent told him that these screenings were NOT going on in every airport in the country, but that the “mainstream” media is hyping it up to make the public think that it is totally national in its’ policy…also, he said that he was also told that the TSA agents at the specific airports were to “humiliate” people by explaining to them in graphic, intrusive description about the procedure that they were going to do on them so that the passenger would change their mind and CHOOSE to be scanned? Anyone else hear this? Makes sense to me in sooooo many ways!

      I have a big question and have never seen an answer to it anywhere. Are ALL people – coming into the US as well as traveling in the US or leaving the US being put through these Rapi-Scans and invasive pat-downs? Or can you fly to Canada from Yemen, take a flight from Canada to NYC, and not be subjected to this? What is the sense in all of it if not EVERYONE in the world is subjected to these scans, whether coming into the US or leaving? Does anyone have any info on that?

    Is this the same government that is so afraid that a person (who has already caused reasonable suspicion) will be egregiously offended if simply asked for their identification, that they are willing to sit on their hands as our border states become dangerous zones for American citizens???     Of all the pictures that I have been seeing over the past week or so, not one of the people that the TSA has been violating, fits the profile of a terrorist. It makes me wonder if they let possible bad guys slip through the cracks just so the TSA agent doesn’t get accused of profiling.

    Our country has been turned completely upside down. We can thank the progressives for doing it, and ourselves for letting them do it!

      The TSA agents are the latest addition to Obama’s “civilian army”. Then there’s the FBI doing nothing about it, and the higher echelons of the Pentagon infiltrated by Obama operatives. Honestly, are we going to wait until it is too late? The best of our troops are purposefully being kept abroad, so they become demoralized by an unwinnable war, are slaughtered and maimed by the enemy, and stay out of Obama’s way.

      The tyrant has been torturing us for two years, but I am convinced that after he re-elects himself “democratically” in 2012, he will go for the jugular. Our military needs to learn from tiny Honduras. If we don’t protect our Republic now, nobody else will make us free.
