Vietnamese Protestors Rally Against China Over Territory Dispute

About 100 Vietnamese protestors rallied against China on Sunday, the latest demonstrations over disputed territories in the South China Sea.

Protestors, surrounded by uniformed and plainclothes security officers,  have marched in Hanoi over the past five weekends, accusing China of trying to lay claim to the Spratlys and Paracels archipelagos and of entering Vietnamese waters.

35 years after we left VN the Communists need help fighting the Communists… what a joke. If they (the Vietnamese) had participated in rosting the VC from theri country, they would have been a lot better off then they are now. 58,000+ Americans lost their lives, a million wounded and now they don’t like China? You lay down with dogs, you are bound to get fleas…

Historically, the Vietnamese hate their Chinese ‘cousins’.
Vietnam, as a loose knit tribal nation, have fought off Chinese invaders for centuries. Several Chinese dynasties came, ruled, and were eventually defeated when the Vietnamese tribes united and defeated the Chinese. Over time, the Mongols invaded, and were kicked out. The Chinese, again invaded, and were kicked out-again
Know Your Enemy. Had we known Vietnamese history and established “friendly relations” with them after WW2, the Vietnamese could have become our S.E. Asian partner and, perhaps, act as a buffer against any Communist Chinese aggression.

Great, let Vietnam and China duke it out. Let the Phlippines join them as well. This is NOT our fight, and is NOT in the interest of the United States. NO MORE AMERICANS fighting on foreign soil. Let these boneheads settle their own score. NO MORE AMERICAN troops in harm;s way for political reasons, If our gutless House and Senate want to make war. let them send THEIR kids to fight!

Hillary Clinton has already stated that the US will back the Philippines in the territorial dispute. Much of this has not been in our press. There is billions of barrels of oil and whew! lots of gas. This area was agreed upon with Asian Treaty long ago with China and surrounding Asian countries agreeing to the treaty. Now that China needs and will need so much oil and gas for their industrial growth, they are looking for other areas to obtain these other than negotiating with Russia, Brazil, Venezuela, Etc. Scroll down on the link and see the area that China says is theirs….

The Viet Nam that the North Vietnamese created after the US left was done so with the backing of the Chinese government. Now that China begins to call in their “markers”, the old South Vietnemese want to rise up. Has they been a bit more concerned about their country then the problems of today would not be an issue. If you want to read a good account of the Viet Nam debacle, read Frank Schnepp’s account entitled “ Decent Interval”. Definately an ‘eye opener”

China is making it’s move on the Spratlys and Paracels archipelagos because they can. They are now the 800 pound gorilla on the block. This is what communists do every time when they become powerful enough. They bully their neighbors.

Communists vs communists. I really don’t care, although hopefully they will take each other out or at least severely weekend each other’s defenses.

Nobody tell Obama though. He will think we should start another Vietnam war to increase his poll numbers.

Defeat for the viets does not exist in their culture and history. When ever China or anyone else moves into Viet, the result is never very pretty for the foreigner. Let the viets handle this one, the Chinese as always will lose.

Looks like China is getting ready to move into the notion of a hegemony or an empire building once again to keep their population quiet with military adventurism…wonder what is going on inside their land that the west is missing, accidently or purposly at that.

I have been twitting much about this for the last two months. China has been putting possession markers inside the 200 mile borders of the Philippines and says it owns and controls the entire china sea including the Spratly Islands. Lots of oil and gas there. There is military maneuvers going on there now in the Philippines with US warships. So far minor conflicts, but China has expressly said for the US to stay out of this.

The federal government has the power to tax only the amount needed to fullfil the obligations enumerated in the constitution and NO MORE!
