‘Vile’: Michigan Woman Taunts Dying Neighbor Girl in Sickening Feud

There is no way to soft-coat how nauseating this story is. Kathleen Edward is 7-years-old. She is dying. She has Huntington’s disease. So did her mother. Mom died when she was 24.

Vile: Michigan Woman Taunts Dying Neighbor Girl in Sickening Feud

Two years ago there was party. Kids jumped in a “bounce house.” Somebody texted something. Somebody got mad about something. This involves pictures on Facebook of the Grim Reaper and a little girl framed with crossbones.

Vile: Michigan Woman Taunts Dying Neighbor Girl in Sickening FeudVile: Michigan Woman Taunts Dying Neighbor Girl in Sickening Feud

Kathleen has neighbors. Evil? Pay attention:

What fits here? “Worst people in the world.” I’m okay with that.  “Vile.” Getting there.

Once things went viral the Michigan neighbors started to auto-retune their message:

What if you are married to a woman who enjoys taunting dying 7-year-olds?  A woman who does this “Because it rubs their a—s raw.  Burns their a—s.”

Could a discussion of law and cyber bullying make this anymore palatable? No.

If the neighbors truly do want to repent where would they go? Westboro Baptist Church?

I am totally sickened by this horribly inhuman behavior. They only changed their tune after they saw the image of themselves in the mirror of public opinion. I just hope that they truly saw what disgusting vile monsters they really were but, somehow I doubt it. Now more than ever the world needs to use that “mirror of public opinion” to help combat all the evil we are dealing with.

What is REALLY of concern is that SHE has children…and she took this attitude as far as she did. I feel really bad for her kids, growing up with such a hateful person as their mother.

You know her kids are probably just as bad as she is. That behavior is passed on. Can you imagine being one of her kids and having to face their fellow classmates? She seemed fairly satisfied with her actions – at first – but changed her tune when she realized no one was in agreement with her. She is vile, but unfortunately, there are so many people in this world like her. She is just like the woman who posed as a teenage boy on Facebook and caused the teenage girl to commit suicide. We live during a very sick, scary time.

One of the videos, I think it was the second one, said that Child Protective Services had paid a friendly little visit to the Petkovs. Methinks the Petkov family may be in eminent danger of losing custody of their children. Between the mother‘s comments in the first video about Laura’s mother and the fact that PPO (personal protective orders) have been taken out against the Petkovs, they are now in deep kimchee. In my state, they don’t hand restraining orders out like candy, you have to have documented police reports and show proof to a judge. Big reality check. The Petkovs are already on the radar, once they get into the system, it’s will be just a ball of laughs. Hopefully, the Child Protective Services will keep checking on them.

    1. You shall have no other gods before me.

    2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

    3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

    4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

    5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

    6. You shall not murder.

    7. You shall not commit adultery.

    8. You shall not steal.

    9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

    10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Funny how these 10 simple things could make life for everyone so much better. Even if you have no or other religious beliefs these 10 things should be understood and respected by all.

This “little list” as you call it, is the expansion of “Natural Law”, or “Higher Law” of which the following two rules are:
      1) Do all you have agreed to do
      2) Do not encroach on other persons or their property!
Natural Law is what the founders built this country on and the experiment worked!

Robin6, so what you’re saying is the ten commandments were based on natural law (they weren’t–they were based on bronze age perceptions of divine law) and so was the declaration( the dec was based on natural law); therefore, both are the same and interchangable?

      i beg to differ.

natural law has its roots in anceint greece. thomas aquinas also took up the issue and wrote on it. so which incarnation in the evolution of the perception of natural law most influenced the founders? next week’s exam question.

natural law is NOT the same as higher law. natural law is applied by governments to societies. higher law/divine law is metaphysical and not in the constitution and; thus, a non-point.

why are we arguing about this in the 21st century?

God is showing His Love and Concern for the little girl and her family by the outpouring of kindness that now surrounds them. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24. “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6

Targeting an individual for the purpose of intentionally inflicting emotional distress is not protected speech, and this case might be the ultimate in that regard; however, I truly hope this little girl‘s family isn’t descended upon by a flock of lawyers looking to make a name for themselves. There’s no upside for the little girl or her family and I would think having to live with themselves and each other should be plenty of penance for the turds across the street.

      American Sanurai,

Once upon a time, an adult would have been much more circumspect and kept his/her mouth shut. However, in this day and age, the idea is that you can say or do anything you want to under the ‘guise’ of freedom. The courtesy and manners that we used to have are long gone and people just kind of do their own thing regardless of who gets in their way. These are my feeling and therefore I am justified, is the thinking.

However, what is happening here is with the Internet, stories can now go “viral” and reach an incredible number of people in a very short time. Posts like this thread are also instrumental in doing something called “shaming” or in more modern terms, “trials in the court of public opinion.” I‘d be willing to bet that the family’s employers and lots of the family members have read or seen this story, whether on Facebook or in the news. Somehow I don’t think the family will be viewed in a positive light.

I don’t know if you remember the California family that participated in “Wife Swap” (a show that I never watched) where the husband was extremely cruel to the woman the show put in his home. He thought he was so much smarter and sophitsicated than the woman. Anyway, this guy ran his mouth off during an episode and the public outcry was so great that he lost his seat on a board and actually had problems with his job since he put the company he worked for in a very poor light. Last I heard, he and his family had to move from California and went to England, where he was originally from.

That’s how effective shaming can be. But you have to be careful you are not being manipulated. I have my suspicions about the story where the judge imprisoned an attorney for not saying the Pledge of Allegiance. After carefully reading the news stories, it appears that the judge has tangled with this attorney before on this matter. It’s a power struggle, and had nothing to do with the flag or the Pledge or patriotism. That’s just the window dressing. The issue is a power struggle between the judge and the attorney. IMHO, public opinion is being manipulated to make the attorney look like a bad guy when in fact, the judge is the one who very well may be the villian.

I don‘t know what this woman’s game plan is, but be careful. Be very careful. Threatening violence may be exactly what she wants from you.

This is NOT bullying.. it is WORSE it a total lack of compassion, feelings, emotions, as well as moral values to for an adult to attack a CHILD verbally or their family who will soon lose her shows the lack of all the things stated above.. and to attack this child’s mother is the same.. I am curious to know if this family decorated this way in past years for Halloween even so one would think that due to what was going on they would have enough common sense to know this was not a good idea.. Making a law with such broad reaches as the cyber bulling doesn‘t and will not solve the problem you can’t make laws that cover MORALS, COMPASSION ETC.. this law could be twisted where it comes back to bite our freedom of speech People are going to say and do what they will not everyone will agree.. as someone who was bullied through school I have to say it’s made me STRONGER.. even when Politicians come out and BULLY the T.E.A. party people I can IGNORE them because bullies can only bully IF you let them..(this would be for cyber bullying).. your friends KNOW you and if they are your friends they will ignore it too.. those that beleive it aren’t worth your time.. And bad taste and meanness will always exist such as this person shows.. I will pray for the lettle girl that she may have piece and happiness for whatever time she has left and adsorbs the love of those who surround her are showing her and ignores those that don’t..

As sick as this is, there does not need to be laws made to protect anyone. Once you start altering free speech, you open the door to getting rid of free speech. This here, is a product of not teaching morals, and values. People with values know how to use free speech.

So instead of creating regulation, lets teach morals, and values.
I feel a little redundant with the morals and values, but that is truly what is needed. Without them we need regulation

Not that it matters but what was original neighborhood dispute that started the whole mess? Come on, journalists, just report the News. Now, the dispute has morphed into more of the same “what the people need is more bureaucratic oversight” crap. Perpetuated by yet another idiot politician. Hey Glenn Anderson, the situation resolved itself without you. Stay out of it. YOU CAN’T OUTLAW HATRED AND STUPIDITY!

Seriously? These are the absolute worst kind of people in existence. I’m a very calm individual but if if that was me suffering from neighbors like that in a similar situation the outcome would have been VERY different (and not to their benefit). I‘ll say a prayer for that little girl and kudos to that family for having the restraint that I don’t believe that I could have had.

I left em a couple messages as well to those who did this….

Frankly I know conservatives like to say “we‘re above all that’ and we like to adhere to the principle ‘treat others and they would you” …sometimes to slaughter the pigs, one has to get a little muddy in the pen, that doesn’t make One a pig”…… I dish it right back to these people and it’s now begun..

Although the story began around the collection of cells that resembled a human being in the form of this hate spewing woman, the story has reached around the world. I have been keeping up on little Kathleen Edward’s Facebook page. The influx of attention and love to this child is incredible. Go up and take a look. The best way to deal with the neighbor is to ignore her. She has shown what she is and she will be regarded appropriately. Turn your attention to Kathleen. She is the strong one.

The issue here isn’t free speech, it’s about how these two neighbors were raised. They acted out in a way that made them outcasts in their own neighborhood – either they have no feelings, or they have no concept of ramifications from their actions, either way – they should have been raised better.

I can think of no “dispute” between neighbors that could, in any twisted way, justify what the husband and wife did. Sure, part of it likely was Halloween decorations, and this escalated feud might have gone different if it hadn’t happened so close to Halloween, but the reality is it did happen, and two seemingly adult neighbors not only did this, but then defended their actions as somehow justified right up until they felt a bit of actual heat against them.

That sentiment you see in the follow-up video, it isn’t remorse, it isn’t regret for what they did – no, it’s that they are being held accountable for what they did.

To borrow a line from “Spinal Tap” – she turned this “dispute” up to eleven.

I am trying to let go the anger and revulsion I am experiencing toward these neighbors in order to focus prayers on Kathleen. Did I miss a societal memo that was directing us to no longer worry about being human, on what planet does it seem an ok idea to taunt a terminally ill child and her family. I hear their apoligies but for the love of all decency how do they lift their heads from their pillows in the morning?

These people are sick, but this story shows how we dont need to pass laws when ever some one gets their feelings hurt. Free speech took care of this problem. the community got together and sent a message to these ding-a-lings that this is not tolerated and they stopped. we dont need legislation,we need to get involved! My hats off to the community for their aid to this family and their restraint to handle this peacefully.

These are trulys scum of the earth people to commit a vile act such as this. If the law will not protect this beautiful little girl against the emotional torture these monsters are infliction, we as a society, can retaliate in a vigilante-type justice, but I do not mean physical harm.

Make these acts very well know. Ostracize these people from their communities — do not hire them, make their lives as miserable as possible, waitstaff at restaurants should spit in the food, mechanics should screw up their cars, do not sell to them or accept their drying cleaning … you get the picture. If people think they can behave in this despicable, despicable manner and get away with it, we are a society can tell them they CANNOT even if the law allows them to. They will get theres.

People like this need to be placed into stocks and have rotten fruit thrown at them. They should be left there with enough food and water to eat and drink for at least five days. They should have to sit in their own filth for those five days in the public square.
