Violent Anarchist Group Vows to Wage ‘Low Level Warfare’ on London Olympics

The Informal Anarchist Federation, also known as the “FAI” after its initials in Italian, has been making news across Europe recently following a string of violent and destructive crimes.
Earlier in May, the group claimed responsibility for shooting an Italian nuclear executive in the kneecaps during a drive-by attack, warning in a four-page letter that they would strike the man’s company seven more times.
Just last week, the group also caused severe delays and extensive damage to commuter train services in the United Kingdom after they reportedly set fire to the signaling cables.
Now, with something of a track record and a name behind them, the group is vowing to wage “low level warfare” on the London Olympics.
The UK’s Telegraph explains:
Posting on anarchist website 325.nostate, the group said: “In the United Kingdom of clockwork control and domestication, we’re some of the ‘unpatriotic ones’ who find the 2012 Olympics, with the ensuing spectacle of wealth (when so many here struggle to feed themselves and their families), harmful developments and escalating police state, frankly offensive.
“But no union or movement calls our shots, and we have no inhibition to use guerrilla activity to hurt the national image and paralyze the economy however we can.
“Because simply, we don’t want rich tourists – we want civil war.” [Emphasis added]

The British government appears to be taking no chances with the 2012 Olympics, launching what many have described as one of the largest peacetime security initiatives since World War II. Not only will thousands of agents be performing background checks and security at the event– soldiers and missiles will reportedly be stationed on residential London rooftops to thwart potential airborne attacks.
Whether the anarchist “federation” succeeds in penetrating such security measures remains to be seen. Without a doubt, however, they will make matters more difficult for the British government, and their actions certainly won’t make the games any safer.
“If they are serious about trying to disrupt the Olympics by using simple techniques such as these,” a private security consultant explained, “they are capable of causing utter havoc.”
Let’s just hope that, in true anarchist spirit, the FAI refuses to join forces with more deadly and established organizations like al-Qaeda, which also reportedly have their sights set on the event.

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 2:08amOn September 5, 1972 a group of eight Palestinian terrorists belonging to the Black September organization broke into the Olympic Village and took nine Israeli athletes, coaches and officials hostage in their apartments. Two of the hostages who resisted were killed in the first moments of the break-in; the subsequent standoff in the Olympic Village lasted for almost 18 hours.

It’s time to just do away with the Olympics. It has become too costly for the taxpayers, and too dangerous for the athletes.
The Olympics has lost nearly everything it once stood for. All the athletes’ hard work, honesty, and integrity, has been replaced with judges who show extreme favoritism, commercialism, politics, violence, and terrorist threats.
The Olympics used to be a way for me to unwind and get away from the daily problems of the World for a couple of weeks. Now, it just stresses me out. The Olympics will never again, be the great event it once was.

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 12:34amAt the first sign of trouble just send operatives into their group, tag them with GPS tracking devices, wait for them to disperse and regroup to plan the next days activities, then just drone a consentrated gathering. Send the message that we have been plagued by these troublemakers long enough. Sure there will be some collateral damage, at first, but it will serve as a behavior modification tool. Untill we use force on their movement with extreme prejudice, they will continue to operate with impugnity. Also, we need to subcontract the Cosa Nostra on a covert op to make the top tier financial people disappear without a trace. You know, decapitate the snake. It’s time to send a message from the civilized portion of our populace, before they become unmanageble. My guess is 99% of the 99% are really whimpering cowards and will more than likely disband to save their paper mache’ asses. JMHO

These protestors only do this becuase they think the west will protect them and allow it. Personally, I hope they do alot of very public visible damage. Maybe then we can use some common sense in the future.

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 2:02amUnfortunately your idea tramples on what we understand as freedom of speech, ESPECIALLY political speech. The acts of violence , destruction of property, rape and assault should be dealt with.
The speech, whether I agree or disagree, MUST be allowed.

Posted on May 27, 2012 at 10:06pmI’m asking The Blaze posters to help me, please. I had to write a 600-word essay about compare and contrast between the Egyptian Uprising and OWS. It’s for one of my classes at school. I popped it out this weekend, but when I proofread it, it sounded way too radical and conservative. And it’s due on Tuesday. Help!

If it’s the biblical one, idk about 600 words, but you could just explain to your idiot (presumably lib) professor that the Egyptian uprising was slaves fighting back against oppressive and cruel masters, and the ows crowd is a bunch of idiot tit sucking morons that want the government to take care of them… So there is no comparison

Posted on May 27, 2012 at 4:53pmMy personal criticisms of Insurrectionary Anarchism aside, they have something of a point when it comes to the spectacle of the Olympic Games. It’s a little sad that London and the United Kingdom is spending millions upon millions of dollars on a sports tournament while the country slips back into recession and the population suffers.
Honestly, I was sort of glad to hear that Brazil, not the US, won the rights to host the 2016 Olympics. Let them pick up the tab.

Uh, none?
http://roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/02/do-olympic-host-cities-ever-win/
Robert K. Barney is acting director of the International Center for Olympic Studies.
“In point of fact, the historical record of long-term benefit from Olympic-related sports facilities is one indelibly burdened by maintenance and operation costs that rise well above user fee revenue.”
Andrew Zimbalist is a professor of economics at Smith College.
“The evidence from past Olympic Games hardly suggests that there’s a resounding economic gain from being the host city. Montreal’s 1976 Olympics left the city with $2.7 billion of debt that it finally paid off in 2005.”
Victor Matheson is an associate professor of economics at the College of the Holy Cross.
Report Post »“As a path to riches and long-term economic development, most Olympic hosts have been sorely disappointed. For example, while Salt Lake City’s hotels and restaurants were packed during the 2002 Winter Games, other businesses not directly related the event, like department stores, suffered significant losses in sales. Overall, economic activity the region actually fell during the Olympics.”

Posted on May 27, 2012 at 8:00pmAlso, this used to be the Right’s talking point: here‘s Glenn Beck on Chicago’s 2016 Olympic bid.
“So, I guess we shouldn’t worry that Chicago and the Obama administration are exploring ways the federal government can bolster the city’s bid for the 2016 Olympic Games with financial support for the $1 billion Olympic Village.
We’ll make all that money back, right?
That’s not always the case, if history can be any guide.
Despite the International Olympic Committee’s claims that the 1988 Calgary Games made a $90 million profit, an investigation by The Toronto Star found that they were a huge money loser.
Additionally, an independent audit by the state of New South Wales estimated that the 2000 Sydney Games cost taxpayers $2.2 billion.”
‘Only an idiot would make such a stupid comment,’ eh? I’ll be waiting for that apology, comrade – or your admittance that Glenn Beck is an idiot. Either will suffice.

Posted on May 27, 2012 at 9:25pmHosting the olympics creates a burst of short term revenue. However the long term cost for all the venues is a general money loser over the long run, unless you have a profitable way to use the facilities.
Most cities already have enough venues to support whatever teams they have. So in the end many end up losing money by having the olympics. The restaurants and hotels do well though.
