Violent Islamic Extremists in Somalia Reportedly Beheaded a Christian Teen

Al Shabbab Islamic Extremists Reportedly Behead Christian Guled Jama Muktar

According to reports, Guled Jama Muktar, a 17-year-old Christian, was violently murdered last month by Islamic radicals. Members of al Shabbab, an extremist group, purportedly beheaded the teenager near Mogadishu, Somalia, in late September.

The al-Qaeda-linked terror group has previously vowed to purge Somalia of Christianity. According to an anonymous source, the terrorists had been monitoring Muktar’s family since they arrived in the unstable nation from Kenya back in 2008.

Apparently, the militants, who are fighting to take control of the nation’s government, learned from observation that the family was Christian. Here’s how the Baptist Press recaps the events that unfolded:

Based on talks with the boy’s parents and their neighbors, the source said al Shabaab members arrived at Muktar’s home at 6 a.m. on Sept. 25 when his parents, whose names are withheld for security reasons, were already at work at their retail space at a market on the outskirts of Mogadishu.

The extremists found Muktar as he was preparing to go to school, the source said.

“The neighbors heard screaming coming from the house, and then it immediately stopped,” the source said. “After awhile, they saw a white car leaving the homestead.”

Following the incident, neighbors contacted the boy’s parents. After returning from the market, they quickly buried their son, then fled; their location is currently unknown.

This isn’t the first incident in which Christians have been targeted. Currently, conditions for non-Muslims are less-than-friendly in Somalia. While al-Shabaab wants to impose sharia law, it seems the current government there isn’t much more favorable to religious minorities.

Compas Direct News, which highlights instances of persecution against Christians, writes:

With estimates of al Shabaab’s size ranging from 3,000 to 7,000, the insurgents seek to impose a strict version of sharia (Islamic law), but the government in Mogadishu fighting to retain control of the country treats Christians little better than the al Shabaab extremists do. While proclaiming himself a moderate, President Sheikh Sharif Sheik Ahmed has embraced a version of sharia that mandates the death penalty for those who leave Islam.

Al Shabaab was among several splinter groups that emerged after Ethiopian forces removed the Islamic Courts Union, a group of sharia courts, from power in Somalia in 2006. Al Shabaab has been designated a terrorist organization by several western governments.

Open Doors, another group that monitors Christian persecution, publishes the “World Watch List,” which ranks nations in terms of how prevalent persecution against Christians is. Currently, Somalia is ranked fifth on this list. Open Doors writes:

It remained very dangerous to be a Christian here in 2010. At least eight Christians were killed and a quarter of all Christians fled the country. The few Christians are heavily persecuted and must practice their faith in secret. The country has been without an effective central government since 1991. Islamist insurgents Al-Shabaab control most of the south, and are effectively trying to wipe out Christianity from the country.  There are, however, indications that they are losing popularity.

The situation is certainly grim and the most recent report about Muktar’s horrific murder shows that the situation is nowhere near improving.

      The headline is misleading in that it pins these jihadis as “extremists”. They are not.

      They muslims engaged in the 1,400 year old tradition of Jihad.

      capecodsully said it right. Islam is worship of satan. The 12th imam is the devil in his supernatural body and reading the news indicates he will be here in body soon. He has already been here in spirit for a long time. Still watching for the two witnesses, who will be here 10 days before the 12th imam appears. Antichrist is Greek for ‘instead of Christ’, meaning the antichrist is satan let loose by Michael, not the pope or Putin or whoever the conspiracy advocates think he is at this time. He will work miracles, outlaw money, put a chicken in every pot. In general make everyone have equal stuff in every house. Amazingly like what the progressives are demanding isn’t it. Another hint is that the U.S., could have done something in all 3 countries mentioned. France was able to stop genocide there previously. Maybe Clinton did not want to stop genocide.       The LRA is the latest incarnation of the Acholi upset with the current political power. Yoweri Museveni, President for life (since 1986 anyway) , overthrew Tito Okello, an Acholi with the assistance of the Tanzanian military.

      The leader of the LRA, Kony, is a thug & the LRA (previously the United Holy Salvation Army) commits war crimes on a regular basis like many other guerilla forces in Africa. There are more tragedies such as theses killing, mutilations & rapes are going on in adjacent countries than in Uganda. The only reason I see that we are getting involved is because of oil.

      My point was that if you get most of your news from FOX, you’d think that all Muslims are violent, and there are no violent Christian groups or individuals. That‘s obviously not true but it’s certainly the point of view being “shoved down your throat.” So I was going for the fair and balanced angle.

      Most who post here on any Muslim topic claim to know the mind of the 1 billion Muslims in the world, and state as fact that all the “real ones” are violent, or simply that all of them believe in violence. Someday I hope someone takes a random sample of Muslims and ask what they think…

      Wait! They have! I know that in the thirst to know the truth, most will be interested in this poll. And it’s a real poll – you know, the kind where they give their sampling method, the number of people sample (from which the confidence interval is calculated) and lists the actual question asked. Here’s an example:

      “Some people think that for the military to target and kill civilians is sometimes justified, while others think that kind of violence is never justified. Which is your opinion?”

      78% of Muslims said that kind of violence was “never justified,” while only 58% of Christians said that kind of violence is never justified. When you actually ask Muslims, you get answers you might not guess.

      Your Gallup poll is crappola. Most American Christians can see the writing on the wall. They are using inductive reasoning to see that nothing is done around the world, when Christians are killed around the world.

      Take the beheading of 3 Christian girls in Sulawesi province of Indonesia. The perpetrators were not given the death penalty. 20 years is a pretty light sentence. ya the perps showed remorse & were forgiven. That makes it all better.

      Americans helped starving Muslims in Somali. At the same time they provided Cyclone relief for Muslims in Bangladesh (Muslims). They helped Muslims for over 5 years in Bosnia. & we are repayed by 911.

      Why don’t they get a representative sample of Muslims world wide. the results would be much different. People could also lie to pollsters. It is called takiyya. There are limits to polling. Instead look at the political parties in Muslim countries that is a truer gauge.

      I don’t understand how if you read the comments on this site(not just specifically this page). People constantly comment how Muslims don’t belong in this country blah blah blah so when a Christian goes to their land and is persecuted and eventually murdered for their beliefs you get outraged. If you truly feel they belong in their country then you belong in yours. So either get pissed off at both(like I am) or get pissed off at neither. Christians have been killing people for what they claim as religious reasons for a while.       Actually walkabout, a poll – a real poll – is a scientific way to determine through induction the beliefs or opinions of a “population,” which is a defined group of people. That’s why random sampling is so important, as is getting a large sample of the population (1067 people is a standard for +/- 3%).

      So I gave you a poll of Muslim Americans, and you say it’s crappola. Your alternative is to read this website and listen to FOX news. You read or hear a story, one which is an emotion charged anti-Muslim one (because that’s the audience FOX appeals to). Hardly a random sample! And you characterize that person as representative of the other one billion muslims in the world. You don’t say the LRA represents all Christians, but you are happy to use your “inductive reasoning” with any Muslim group, in spite of scientific evidence to the contrary. Whatever.

      And “there is an opinion out there” that Soros told Obama to send troops to africa. That is your standard of evidence to believe something? And Soros is behind OWS?       @JZS: I agree with you that any Muslim could be a good person. I believe that people have the same potential for good no matter where they are born. The problem is with Islam. I have read much of the Quran and if even a quarter of Muslims espouse it literally, every Christian and Jew in the world is in real trouble. In contrast, the Bible by-in-large teaches peace. It’s hard for many people to sort their prejudices towards Muslims, but as for Islam there is a very real threat.

Yeah, there are people who call themselves Muslims who would kill Christians or Americans as a matter of principle, any way they can. No doubt. I think your threat of dying from a terrorist attack is less than being struck by lightening, but no matter.

      Have you ever thought about how Muslims viewed the invasion of Iraq? Especially after the world realized there were no WMD, which was the justification for war? Maybe they thought Christians were simply killing Muslims, and overthrowing a Muslim country for invented reasons that were proven absolutely false? Some certainly would, if they had the Muslim equivilant of this website!

You don’t know enough about your own religion so, why make comments about a religion you know nothing about. Everything you know about Islam/Christianity you got from the lame stream media. If you want to really know about Islam, read the Qur’an. You will see it does not command anyone to kill someone for changing their religion. You will see that the word Jihad does not mean, convert non Muslim to Islam and if they do not convert kill them.

      In your own bible Jesus said this: Luke 19:27: But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and kill them before me.

      If jihad means what you say it means then, as you can see, Jesus was a jihadist.

      SURHANSURHAN THe Quran does say to kill the infidlel and how many of your people have been murderd because they chose to leave Islam? How many of your daughters have your people slain because they went with American boys or were raped and then honor killed by your own people. Why does the later part of the Quran which says to kill..nullilfy the earlier part which said to live in peace? Why did the black Somalian Muslims kidnap and behead a 16 yr old boy just because his family was Chirstian You never hear of Christians committing such atrocities. The verse quoted was in reference to how Jesus will handle things in the end. He..being Creator..will take down even what was called His and they will be cast down with your people and all unbeleivers. The only way to survive and have eternal life is to accept him as the only begotten Son of God and to confess that He died for your sins and that he rose the third day. Otherwise there is a burning hell that ones who don’t believe will be cast into in the end. Islam was created for a powerful army.. and God through Jesus will use your army to do His bidding..but unless you lay down your religion and follow Him…you will, along with the rest of the unbelievers will be cast into hell with them. Islam is the religion of hate and murder. Jesus only does away with the evil at the end. You have read some of the BIble.. read the New Testament starting with John. Ask God for His Holy Spirit’s guidance, May your eyes be opened.

      To JZS: What is happening in the Sudan is no different from what is happening in Somalia. Just find the book, The Witness, and read it. You will learn that the Muslim government coveted the oil in the land owned by Christians, and encouraged the Muslim tribes to engage in Jihad to wipe them out. They then sent their own troops in to “maintain the peace”. These troops engaged in genocide, attempting to help the Muslim tribes in wiping out the Christian tribes. At that point, many young Christian men fled their tibes and joined various militias to protect themselves. This resulted in a state of civil war with various groups fighting, Muslim against Christian, Christian against Muslim, Christian against Christian, and the Government against everyone. All in the name of oil.

      So, before you begin labeling groups as terrorists, get to know the history of the region. I think it’s safe to say that the real victims are the people, and the Sudanese government is the true agressor.

Muslims need to pray in secret for if they are caught praying to the real God YWVH they will be murdered.. If they pray to the One and only true God in Jesus’s name.He will hear. and He will help them. It is a Spiritual thing. With Islam..the true God is not the one hearing them. I looked for the word CHRISTIANITY in the Bible and I didn’t find it. I looked for the word Judaism in the Torah/Old Testament and I did not find it. I looked for the word Buddhism and Hinduism in their religious book and I did not find the words Buddha or Hindu there either. But what I did realize is, that all these so called religions are all named after men. These are ALL man made religions!

      The only religion on the face of this earth, not named after a man is Islam! The only religion on the face of this earth, where the name of that religion, is found in its religious book is Islam. Allah (SHW) has said in the Qur’an: “Today I have perfected your religion and given my favor to it; and have created ISLAM as your religion.”

      ISLAM is the only true religion in the world!

      SURHANSURHAN You probably know the story of Ismael and Issac,..right? It is in the old testament of the Bible. Ismael was the illegitimate son of Abraham. The Lord and his angels had visited Sarah and Abraham had visited them and told them that they would bear a son who would be the ascendant to Jesus. Sarah. because of her age didn’t believe him..so gave her Egyptian hand maid to her husband thinking that was the only way She was wrong. Haagar..the maid bore Ismael and although he love Ismael,a dn begged that the Saviour Jesus the Christ would come through Ismael.. the Lord said No..I promised Sarah..the legitmate wife..and so it was..Sarah had Issac at around 90 yrs old. Mohammed was a descendant of Ismael, the Pope took the story of Jesus Christ/Yeshuah the Messiah and gave some of the same backgrounds to Mohammed. THe Augustinian Monks had converted Arabs by tribes in North Africa to Catholicism, but wanted to raise up a mighty army (Islam) out of the rest of the Arab countries to take Jerusalem for the Vatican city. He enlisted the help of a close confidant..a rich woman and her cousin Warquah to help with Mohammad’s visions. THey did raise up Islam. Islam is a creation of the Pope.     Christians in Somalia, Lahore, Baghdad, Cairo, Beirut, Istanbul, and wherever else Christians are surrounded by an ideology of hate. Catholics being butchered in the Philippines. Buddhists in Thailand being slaughtered for having the gall to live on their ancestral lands near Muslims at the Malaysian border. Jews wherever Muslims can find them – these days, mostly attacking them in Amsterdam, Brussels, London and Paris. Hindus being attacked and their temples burned to the ground in Indonesia.     Funny, I just went to CAIR’s website and there is no condemnation of this senseless murder. The folks at care can window dress their faith as much as they like but until I see a vast majority of Muslims worldwide openly condemn such acts I will not believe that Islam is a religion of peace and acceptance of other cultures.

      Everyone should read the Koran for themselves. Also, does not our Bible speak about the Prince of Darkness in Persia? In any event, our government did this to us. They allowed Saudi Arabia to open schools in our country…so many subversive groups to the American Ideal have been allowed to stand and indeed to flourish.

      If we were to do the RIGHT thing, we would go to Washington and everyone there who broke the oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States which jeopardizes the People, should be taken from office and tried in a court of law with the Constitution, Law of the land, as the basis for verdict. This is the 3 branches of government that has done this to us. Then, we get all those in the 5th estate who are making millions but bringing down the American way of life with sins of ommission and commission and do the same thing.

      At the very least their punishment should be BANISHMENT.

      If you are talking about the Lord’s Resistance Army, if they are Christians I’m a crocodile. Maybe they started out as Christians but they do very unChristian things. They terrorize everyone and force children into their army and have sex slaves and other bad things.

      But I wonder if supporting the muslim gov’t against those bad people is any better. Read this from Amnesty International:

      Much of this area is not historically Islamic. It has been the victim of Jihad for centuries.

      To point fingers at the various groups of non-muslims in the region is wrong. None of these indigenous peoples requested violent jihad be waged in their homelands. The arab muslims in Saudi Arabia are the ones who are responsible for the massive suffering of the non-muslims in Africa.

      I applaud all those who fight against Jihad. We in the West can use their struggle as both a warning and a peek into our future should continue to appease the muslims.

      Do you want to end up resorting to violence simply to hold on to the scrap of what was once your nation? Let Islam fewer in America, and this will be our fate.
