Violent Vid: U.K. Riot Police Storm Protestors at Illegal Gypsy Site

Frightening video has emerged today of a dramatic, violent showdown between protestors and U.K. police earlier early Wednesday at an illegal Traveler (or Gypsy) campsite called “Dale Farm” east of London.
Anarchist and activist protestors joined the Travelers after the courts declared the eviction of the campsite must proceed. Protestors vowed Tuesday night to fight to the death if necessary, and one of them shouted over a bullhorn at police early Wednesday morning “This time it’s war– bring it on.”
Police say they overcame “extreme” resistance and violence from protestors, which included “missiles, unknown powders, buckets of urine, and lumps of concrete” being thrown at them. Police responded by shooting at least two protestors with taser guns and arresting a total of 34. 
Protestors had erected barricades around the entrances to the site, chained themselves to gates by their necks, and set caravans (mobile homes) on fire. Some protestors just lay prone atop buildings and other structures, forcing police to remove and carry them under the most hazardous conditions possible. Others anarchists chained themselves by their necks to burned out vehicles filled with concrete.
A month ago the Blaze told you about the situation of the “Dale Farm” Travelers, a nomadic group of Irish descent with traditions similar to the Gypsies of Europe. Initially, the Travelers of Essex took their case to court. An order to clear the campsite in September was stayed, but the most recent decision to evict the illegal residents of Dale Farms seems to have ended a ten-year long legal battle.
After a 90-minute standoff, Many at the campsite of about 400 transients begrudgingly agreed to leave of their own volition after the police raid. The estimated cost to clear and raze Dale Farm for the British taxpayer? Approximately $28 million dollars.
Some analysts have pointed out the eerie parallels between the Dale Farms eviction and aspects of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Occupy currently sits on private land, and the owners at one point wanted the camped-out protestors to leave.
The City of New York gave Occupy a deadline to move out last Friday, but then backed down at the last minute, giving the Occupy movement a major boost of confidence just in time for their global October 15th protests, which were mirrored in over 80 cities across the globe.
But the possibility remains that at some point there will be an eviction of Occupy Wall Street.
And even the Travelers themselves appear to be making comparisons to the Occupiers.
One of the U.K Traveler protestors gave a long tirade in front of the camera (pictured above) during which she both explicitly connected the violent campsite protest against the Travelers’ removal to the Occupy Wall Street movement, and made ominous threats about the upcoming November 5th Guy Fawkes Day in the U.K.:
“The demonic people had a plan… you see this fire, you’re gonna get more of this at parliament on Nov 5., that‘s where we’re going, you think Occupy on the 15th was it [indecipherable] will be slow long battle, the government don’t want us to be free mentally, just like the aborigines, palestinian to UK we will never go away.”
In addition, the hacker collective group known as “Anonymous” has also planned its own commemoration of Guy Fawke’s Day by encouraging a digitally coordinated run on a Wall Street bank. The idea is to transfer money from a “bankster” institution to a non-profit credit union, in the process collapsing at least one “too big to fail” institution, and possibly causing a cascading effect across the financial sector.
As the various Occupy movements across the U.S. face looming evictions of their own, it appears possible there may be similar tactics deployed by protestors across the U.S. to cause maximum damage to property and instigate a violent police response.

And as for the fact of being the same as the OWS protesters, they are trying to validate what they are doing. Normally a group of travellers ( in britain) will just stop where ever they can drive there caravans (mobile homes) in does’nt matter if its private property, public property. They prefere private because due to eviction laws in England it will be about 6 months before removal can start, which s what this whole thing is, removal of tresspassers on property. When travellers set up camp near you you move, crime goes through the roof, they deal in drugs and violence. I knew one traveller who bit off his friends septum because he stole a camera off his girlfriend! Please before you comment make sure you know what you’re talking about. God Bless.

So if we just let people squat on private property as they are in the Occupy cities, what will come next? Will it take 10 years to get them out of there? City gov’ts. are allowing them to protest, but protests come with permits and marches down city owned streets, etc., not camping out for days on private property…or city property for that matter. No one would be allowed to just set up a camp site for an indefinite amount of time with or without a permit. Why are these people being allowed to proceed like this? Make your statement and then go the hell home, why camp out for weeks? The longer it is allowed the harder it will be to disband them and give people back their right to their hard earned, paid for, property. I fear it is already too late, the longer it takes, the greater the backlash. Why did Bloomberg hold up the rule of law and order and private property? Anarchist indeed.

Politicians are responsible for bad laws, bad regulations that let big hedge funds, investment banks, politicians, and special interests rip-off the American people. To paraphrase the president ‘it may be morally wrong, but it‘s not necessarily illegal’…
So, where does that leave the least among us? Poorer? Drowning in personal debt? Owning trillions and with an economy potentially hobbled for decades if not generations? $80 TRILLION or more in debt?
Where does it leave the big hedge funds, investment banks, politicians, and special interests? Holding all the money?
There were articles about hedge funds buying up lots of super cheap farmland in war torn African countries. How cheap will America be in the future?
People have to live some where. Should they be taken advantage of by politicians, big hedge funds, investment banks, politicians, and special interests?
How cheap will America be next year?

On the surface they don’t seem like a bad group, but they park their travel trailers anywhere they can find room regardless of whether they have permission. They don’t pay any taxes, yet they manage to have obscene amounts of cash to buy lavish dresses and throw lavish parties; so the work they do must be cash only. They also don’t use the toilets that may or may not be in their trailers. They defecate in the fields where ever they are located. They have no moral codes and many of the guys would be considered rapist in society. The children do not go to school, thus continuing the cycle and the older children take care of the younger children when the parents are out doing whatever they do. The female’s are allowed to get married at 16. If they are Irish, why aren’t they traveling in Ireland. Why are they Britain’s problem?

Some girls are even brutalized by their prospective mates as part of a “dating ritual”. DO NOT be fooled into believeing it is anything at all like the OWS movement.
Historically they are a continuation of traveling tinkers trademen who followed work, harvest etc.
But it has evolved far from those roots, into a subculture of anti establishment and no small amount of crime. THIS is what you get when you brutalize and dehumanize a people since before the year 800.
Ask youself why britton has given back most ALL of it’s colonys except Northern Ireland ?
As an Irish catholic, I was shocked at the guy fawkes day, still celebrated some 200+/- years later.
He was no innocent, but the day celebrates his hanging for his attempt at blowing up parlement.
Look it up, and ask yourself why this is bigger than the 4th of july ?
The missiles they talk about are actually bottle rockets and paybe roman candles, everything else is highly regulated there, this is the remains of a society that was disarmed long ago.
They still refuse to “assimulate” nor capitulate.

Their whole mission is to bait authorities into removing them from the locations and then instigating violence to the point that provokes a response and then getting good video footage of the response.
It’s what every liberal/socialist protest has attempted to accomplish since kent state happened.

There is a pervasive tendancy to riducule and belittle red headed people throughout history, in every culture. But it didn’t start as a slight against the Irish. It’s roots are simply in the fact that being born with red hair is comparitavely rare, and in cultures that weren’t very socially advanced anything appearing to be abnormal was considered a defect. As for the specific phrase “red headed stepchild” the earliest references found of that phrase seem to have originated in the American south around the 1930′s, and most of the early references seem to be directed at blacks with red hair.
