Virginia Democrat Takes Heat for Racy Christmas Party Pics

Virginia Democrat Takes Heat for Racy Christmas Party PicsThe first thing you need to know about the candidate is her name — Krystal Ball. So she should have seen this coming. If you pose with sex toys at a party, the pictures will eventually get around.

Ball is a Democrat running for congress in central Virginia. It’s Republican territory. She doesn’t have much of a chance. Unless the first district has some kind of fetish for Christmasy lewdness.  We’re going to spare you publication of the pictures on this page.

The candidate talked to WWBT-TV.  She’s not happy:

Ball said that she is the victim of coordinated attack, designed to knock her campaign off track, just as it was gaining momentum.

The photos are not what you’d expect from a woman hoping to be elected to Congress. And Krystal Ball knows it.

“This is not certainly the way I would hoped to be portrayed,” she said.

Using the “double standard” card may have tactical merit:

In response to media attention over the photos, Ball has taken the tactic that the Women’s Campaign Forum says is proven to maintain voter support in the face of sexist attacks: She’s calling them sexist.

Here’s the full report from WWBT-TV:

How is her opponent responding to all this? Cautiously:

Rob Wittman has personally asked Republican bloggers to take the photos down.

“Rob is adamantly opposed to (the photo’s) display,” said Casey Werderman, Wittman’s campaign manager. “We have asked that they be removed so that we can continue to discuss the issues important to the folks in the first district.”

Should she have known better?  Of course: “Krystal’s 29 and graduated from UVA in 2003, which puts her squarely in the Facebook generation.”

Are the bloggers and reporters being irresponsible?  Here is a “yes” vote:

News reports like this one spill approximately zero ink on the decision of these blogs to published the photos, but take their sweet time in dissecting Ball’s decision to wear some outfit. To recap: Ball is wearing a skirt, a tank top, and a Santa hat; this qualifies her, for some reason, as “scantily clad.”

And NBC’s Nobles does “scantily clad” one better: He all but asserts that the photos make Ball unfit for Congress. “The photos are not what you’d expect from a woman hoping to be elected to Congress, and Krystal Ball knows it,” Nobles breathlessly reports. “She’s dressed in a suggestive costume, leading a man she says is her ex-husband around the party on a leash.

Excuse me, Krystal Ball??? We ALL have been to parties? We‘ve ALL had private photos taken that we wouldn’t want in the public eye?? No. Not ALL of us have. Some of us have better judgment than that. You see, I don’t go to sex toy parties and drink myself silly and do stupid things. It’s a choice I make. Please don’t lump me in with the rest of you dimwits who CHOOSE to act as stupidly as this.

If you don’t want your indiscretions out there on the web – think TWICE about doing it, then CHOOSE not to.

Dear Patriotwoman… While I respect your personal choices made in the name of morality, I am sure you have made many other types of mistakes in your life (perhaps out of anger, jealousy, pride…and now for judging others). This woman was probably 21 or so at the time of this party…give her a break.

She may be politically misinformed, but ease up on the judgment. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Ah yes, the moral relativist and his charming habit of stating the obvious as if it were profound, relevant, or an argument.

The difficulty here is not the making of a mistake, it is the nature of the mistake.

No as much as we taught our girl! Our daughter would have Krystal Ball absolute gasp.

REBEL ALLIANCE gets to the bottom of Krystal Ball, “Bottomline…behavior has consequences.”

Yes, sir, sure enough! During my long life, I have been arrested three times for running around drunk and naked in public. Not quite what you think. In “public” for me means way out in the boonies at some hidden away lake or river, partying with close personal friends. Twice arrested by Choctaw police, once arrested by city police for skinny dipping in a hotel pool, the famous Mission Inn where Richard Nixon married Pat. I was cut loose each time, never went to court. With the Choctaw police, easy enough cut a deal; you can photograph me in the nude if you don’t lock me up. Worked out well, turned out to be a lot fun, until their wives discovered those naked photos of me.

Yes, if a person has political ambitions there is a need to have a very clean history, for most cases. Oddly, I believe both Christine O’Donnell and Krystal Ball are being treated unfairly. One was a witch, one was a party girl, I kinda like this. However, those incidents are being used as political weapons.

Least those girls were not smoking Cuban cigars with Monica Lewinsky like Billy Clinton did.

Somewhere out there, ignoring zillions photos of me nude on the web, somewhere out there in the hands of some Choctaw police are naked photos of me. This is the only reason I am not running for president in 2012. I am a hardened criminal, a threat to society, as with witches and party girls.

HUGH WILLIAMS is wide eyed and grinning, “I am shocked by your criminal behavior.”

Shoot, boy, that ain’t the half of it. I didn’t mention the times I escaped arrest, nor hint at my spending several days in the Tijuana jail back when I was sixteen. That one was not fun.

Quickie funny, friends and I are celebrating my 30th birthday. Hot humid August day, whiskey drinking, rock n roll, way out at a pine forest lake, of course I’m naked and having a blast. Choctaw police stumble upon us, someone yells “run!” I take off stumbling, crash right into the side of their Choctaw police truck. Those boys sit there grinning at me, all I could think to say is, “I”m thirty years old today!” Nice boys, both wished me a happy birthday. What followed is hilarious but would have you blush and question my sanity.

Our girl is an early teen back then and really ornery, as we taught her to be. She runs up behind me, “Arrest her! Take her to jail! Lock her up!”

Year or so later, she enters high school. Each time she wants to go somewhere with friends, her daddy and I tell her, “No.” She starts up, “Momma, remember your 30th birthday?” Alright, fine, she can go, “…but don’t you dare act like I did. You hear me, girl?”

Our daughter is a good girl. She waited until after high school to take up acting like me.

HUGH WILLIAMS licks his lips, “P.S. Just where can I find those pictures you mentioned?”

Next time Sylvia Soraya is around here, ask her where to find photos of “purl gurl”. She is ornery and will tell you. Just don’t ask her about what happened on my 30th birthday; I would rather you not know, for your own safety and sanity.

Its that she is so morally bankrupt that she is enacting sexual acts at a party and having her picture taking doing so! Do we really want morally bankrupt people representing us in Congress? No. Isnt that the whole point? Did we forget “Restoring Honor” already? Is that honorable behavior? Yes, her progressive policies disqualify her as a candidate that should be voted for, but does the fact that she has no honor and is morally bankrupt also not disqualify her? I mean, look at who she is mad at. She is mad at the Republicans for the pictures coming out. Did the Republicans take the pictures at the party? Did the Republicans spread the pictures around so that they could so easily be found? Did she take responsibility for her actions, No. She got mad at everyone else.

This is what happens when you point a camera at someone: they pose for a laugh. I can dig out hundreds of photos of perfectly innocent, responsible people I know (including myself) posing like morons or doing something suggestive.

Why do we allow 1/60th of a second to define someone’s entire personality these days? Sure, it was stupid of her to do this if she planned on a life in politics, but come on… are we really this hard up for an angle of attack?

So a young woman is being suggestive with her husband. Big deal.

The photos exist, so fair game I suppose… in this toxic political atmosphere, anyway. But really, this is pretty lame. And to the men who are “offended” because the photos are “sexist”: Suck it up. Stop whining. Nobody forced him to look like a moron.

Face it: The “scandal” is that acts like this are documented, not that they happened. That said, is everyone here saying there‘s nothing they have done that they wouldn’t want posted online? Is the only reason you are able to look down on her because there wasn’t a camera present?

Propsero.. I was thinking the SAME thing!
Yeah.. I don’t have any “racy” photos I wouldnt want published. Just the goofy awkward teenage ones with the 80s style clothes and hair.
Too bad I never went to college I guess.

I don‘t even know why I’m saying this because it goes without saying, but if this had been a R candidate MSNBC would be all over this story even if the pictures are, as some are saying on these posts, ‘PG.’

This is much ado about nothing and dirty politics. Like Rob Whittman said “We have asked that they be removed so that we can continue to discuss the issues important to the folks in the first district.”.
That is exactly the correct response to this issue.

I suppose the moral of the story is that you shouldnt do or say things as an adult, that you will regret later.

Maybe instead of the whining, she need to finally grow up and be responsible for HER ACTIONS……what a novel thought..
