Wall St. Protesters Plan to March on the Homes of NYC Billionaires

In a none-too-subtle intimidation tactic, the New York Occupiers have decided to shift their attention from Zuccoti Park to the Upper East Side of New York to “see how ‘the 1%’ lives.’”

Check out this Facebook posting:

Intimidation Tactics: OWS To March on Wealthy New York Neighborhoods

In the update they write:

Wanna “see how the 1% lives”? Then join us on a walking tour of the homes of some of the bank and corporate executives that don’t pay taxes, cut jobs, engaged in mortgage fraud, tanked our economy…..all while giving themselves record setting bonuses!

Occupy wall street will join community groups fighting for economic justice.

You can meet at Liberty Square/Zuccotti Park at 11:00 am and we will take the subway together or you can meet at 59th and 5th ave at 12:30pm. (please indicate if you will travel with us front he square) [sic]

We’ll be meeting at 59th Street and 5th Avenue at 12:30 pm, and then march from house to house, demanding accountability for Wall Street crimes, and an extension of the Millionaire’s tax.

Who will we be visiting exactly? Well….you’re just gonna have to come to find out.

However, despite all their social media organizing efforts, protesters might be disappointed in what they find. See, normally at around 11:00 AM, the “1%” will not be in their neighborhoods.

They will have left their houses to go to something called “work.”

The idea resembles a March in May 2010, when union protesters from the SEIU showed up at the home of Bank of America executive Greg Baer. They picketed Bear’s home, despite the fact that Baer wasn’t there and his young son was forced to listen to the angry rhetoric:

@Snowleopard – I would agree as the frenzy is accelerating rapidly and it is all 100% by design. It is a distraction of great proportions, counterproductive and polarizing. BHO will have to step in and quell the “frenzy” and appear to be a peacemaker and pragmatic resource stabilizing these hotspots and our country. It gets the focus off of all the missteps of his administration and makes them look potentially appealing (they hope) as the polls continue to slide precipitiously. This is all contrived and there will be casualities unfortunately. I am not in that 1% or even close however if any of these losers get near my home………well the probably won’t…..

I agree, things are going to get violent very very soon. Will appear to be “spontaneous”. In truth the incident will be carefully orchestrated, planned and supported by the progressive left. Once the first punch is thrown, the violence will spread like wildfire across the country. And they want it to.

On a side note, I keep waiting for a reporter to ask Pelosi, Moore, all the other politicians & big name folks why they support protesters living in filth, vandalizing property, breaking the law, harrassing innocent bystanders etc. And if they support these activities, why aren’t they marching, chanting & camping out right beside the protesters instead of leaving after a 20 minute visit & sound byte. Why aren’t they offering their property as a campground & rally point. Heck they could even provide transportation to get these people where they want to go. No one is asking that question.

So far the protesters don’t seem capable of deploying any deadly force. More likely someone will be killed by the police, or die in such a way that it can be blamed on the police. Then the movement will have its martyrs. Pray for peace on the streets of NYC–and elsewhere!

I agree. I don’t understand why loitering and getting in the way of commerce is not something that Bloomberg could address. I would hate to be the small businesses in that area. I am sure they have seen a huge drop in business – considering that food, drink, etc. is being shipped in to these people. I know I wouldn’t want to go shopping in that area right now. So Bloomberg favors “occupiers” instead of tax paying businesses. I totally support their right to protest, but aren’t there any rules in NYC about getting permits, etc.? And you are right – littering, urinating in public, etc…..Now they are going to harass private citizens at their homes? Nothing to see here, Mayor Bloomberg.

If I were one of the rich(which I am not) I would rent a dozen water cannons, station them around my home, hire some veterans and give those filthy occupy pigs the soaking they need. It would be the first bath they’ve had in weeks. First however I would post no trespassing signs, enter at your own risk signs, and would also hire guard dogs. I may not be rich, but my state has a “castle law” and I would shoot each and everyone of them that set foot on my property. I will defend what’s mine, I earned it, I worked for it, I paid for it and they cannot have it.

As soon as they cross the line, figuratively or literally and they damage someone elses property, or step on to private property, they deserve what they get. Here’s hoping it is harsh! Unfortunately , having lived through these fools in the 60′s, it will probably take some Kent State type incidents to stop them. Can;t wait!

But I won‘t waste my time with people who don’t return the courtesy, who shout & scream, who can’t articulate their beliefs, whose conversation is a montage of empty rhetoric and irrational thoughts. And I refuse to address anyone who thinks it’s great to trash an area, live in their own filth, vandalize etc. I figure if they‘re that ignorant they probably don’t have anything intelligent to say.
