Author Elizabeth Moon Suggests Permanent Identification Devices at Birth on BBCs 60 Second Idea

As BBC explains it, everyone has an idea that they think will change the world. It provides some with a forum — however short — to share these ideas.

Most recently, Elizabeth Moon — a science fiction writer who says she’s a former Marine — was on the soap box. Her idea: permanent identification of identity at birth. She offers a barcode or embeddable chip as examples, although she seems open to other technologies that could do the job as well.

We all have unique finger prints, but what Moon is shooting for is something faster and instantly scannable. Many movies have already shown us how useful retinal scans can be at identifying oneself (the most recent “Mission Impossible” comes to mind).

She says:

“If I were empress of the Universe I would insist on every individual having a unique ID permanently attached – a barcode if you will; an implanted chip to provide an easy, fast inexpensive way to identify individuals.

It would be imprinted on everyone at birth. Point the scanner at someone and there it is.

Moon believes such a device would have a function at wartime to quickly identify friend from foe in hostile situations. She said there wouldn’t be such a thing as mistaken or stolen identity either. She acknowledges that anonymity with such an identifier would be impossible but states that an advantage to this is that it would make “it easier to place responsibility accurately.”

Moon’s concept is part of a larger discussion on BBC’s The Forum, which will be available on Sunday. In the broadcast, Moon and other experts discuss the implications of drones, mind-controlling devices and other technology that is changing the way wars could be fought in the future.

    There are two unforgivable sins. One cursing the Holy Ghost. Two receiving the mark of the beast.
    The mark is the binary code of a computer language for billing is 00000666 this whas been on the billings of C.C. since computers have been working to produce the bills sent out. After a ferrior in the late 70‘s 0000666 was changed by some to 00000999 but it’s still the mark of the beast.
    Now the question is why? First the chip, it’s called by many names, angel, veri chip etc. These chips are using your body as a battery. The idea was invented for NASA to control the heart rate of the astronauts while in flight. This required salalites to send signals to the space craft. increasing or decreasing their heart rate etc.
    However now by putting these chips to carry your medical records is to be mandatory by next March under BO care. Now these chip can be reprogrammed to accept other information like personal banking Etc.
    This gives the Government total control over you. If you disobey one man/woman puts your code into a little black box and pushes a button. This over stimulates your heart and you are dead in 3 to 5 seconds.
    If you don’t believe me ask NASA!

      I have to disagree with you on one point, I believe suicide and the mark of the beast are the 2 unforgivable sins because you can’t ask for forgiveness for killing yourself. You can ask forgiveness for swearing the lord’s name in vien. This is the lefts’ agenda, mark of the beast to damn us all.

      This has been in the making since the early 90′s a group of nuerosurgeons and engineers got together to use a chip implant to repair spinal cord damage. It worked but had a major side effect it caused feedback to the persons brain causing severe aggitation so the stopped it. But they realized that this chip could hold a persons life history and could be linked to a gps system for tracking purposes. The goverment wanted to use it to replace the dog tags for our soldiers mainly officers stationed overseas but they refused many got out of the service. It does not surprise me that they are bringing it out again. With identity theft so high a person could not steal another identity or bank account no need for a wallet sounds good huh well it is a global for of control with the smart chip. Lookk at your passport that little chip on the cover yeah. Control the mass’s. . Food transportation tracking. No place to run noplace to hide. I received an audio tape in 95 while living in new mexico and was blown away by what I heard one of the engineers told the story of the chip and shared his experience.       Not to argue with your other points (because this does, indeed, look like the mark of the beast), but binary numbers only include 0‘s and 1’. the binary code for 666 is (I think) 1010011.

      The mark of the beast is not a computer code. Give me a break. The mark of God is His Sabbath day. Those who worship on any other day have the mark of the beast. When the Sunday laws come and force people to worship on the 1st day of the week (instead of the Biblical 7th) and you do it, you will receive the mark.

      Spiritually, don’t worry about “marks” inserted without your knowledge; Revelation indicates judgment comes on those who chose to accept the mark.

      I agree on the formatting of the bar code. This has been identified by the Christian community for years.

      As for as preventing identity fraud, it might prevent use of stolen credit cards (because there won’t be any – the code will be the medium) but as long as there are computers and the internet, this won’t prevent the cyber-crime of identity theft.

      The purpose of this is control – cattle are currently tagged and marked; this just extends that to a different herd.

      About the implanted chips… There has been problems with them causing tumors in surrounding tissue due to the RF energy required being sent and received from the device in such close proximity to the flesh. The government prefers the electronic solution for its more efficient reading and tracking capability – that is the reason the chip has been placed in passports – drive through the reader, you can ID everyone tagged in the vehicle. Looking for someone? Readers in streets and sidewalks – potentially even satellites* – could be used to locate the chip barer.

      * I have heard of this capability but never understood how because of the signal strengths involved. These chips’ power is derived from the induction of current by a radio signal received by the device – the device transmits back using this power. The input signal must be sufficiently strong; the output is proportionally less. The signals from a satellite is low – strong enough for a receiver to pick up and amplify (requiring a source of power) but enough to provide power to an implanted chip? Possibly. It’s been reported that some wealthy and powerful people have been implanted for such tracking due to their fear of kidnapping.

      How people like you can claim to know what the mark of the beast is actually sad. Back when S.S. numbers came out, they were the mark of the beast. Then when barcodes came out, they were the mark of the beast. Ronald Reagan‘s name was the mark of the beast as was George Bush’s, Bill Clinton’s, George W. Bush‘s and now Barack Obama’s (barack is close, certainly, but…). Then, of course, the mark of the beast was hidden in flu shots!

      C’mon. Think! You don’t know what the mark of the beast is anymore than you know how many galaxies are in the universe (or do you think that’s just a picture up there placed by God to make us all wonder?).       Rejecting the power (blasphemy) of The Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin mentioned. Because no one can come unto The Father except through The Son and no one approaches The Son unless The Father draws them with His Spirit. Rejecting this drawing is saying “I don’t want to be saved.”

      Suicide is not unforgivable, because Christ died once for all, past present and future. At the point of salvation, all of your sin is forgiven. I do believe that someone who has truly tasted of The Gift would rather live for God than kill themselves, however. But I am quite sure that that doesn’t mean it has never happened. What about a Christian mother whose fetus threatens her life and she refuses an abortion? Child birth will kill her, but she has the baby anyway. She essentially killed herself for her child’s life. Unforgiven? No. It actually mirrors Jesus in His ultimate sacrifice. Read John 15:13. Suicuide may very well come into play during war time as well as other inconceivable scenarios, that are ALL covered by The Blood. Don’t misunderstand me, I am not condoning the crazy notion of suicide bombing in the name of some false god or idol. Matter of fact, I am not condoning suicide bombing in the name of anything! I am just saying that many forms of protective sacrifice may include one’s suicide, and that is forgiven for the Christian.

      Having said all of that, anyone who accepts a tatoo or a chip on or in their body is asking for trouble.

      When I said denying Christ that would be the same as denying the Holy Spirit; as the Holy Spirit testifies to Christ. I know of no verses that say that suicide is unforgivable. I knew 2 pastors that commited suicide. I would not recommend it, and I would believe that it would take away from one’s heavenly reward ( as mentioned in Matthew … “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven”).
      As I explained ( maybe poorly) that receiving the mark is denying Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and that this will be clearer as the day approaches.
      Just because you do not know something does not mean others do not …. this is arrogance. We come to Christ as newborns and the maturity of our faith deepens as we walk with God. Yes, there are things I KNOW that other christians do not, and vice-versa, Something that I find frustrating is the PRIDE of people … this pride makes for foolishness and hinders one from becomming more mature, and just plain makes a mess of things … yeah well, you is you and I is I … peace

      The Bible speakes of the end times and about the return of Jesus. The mark of the beast is 666 which will be implanted under the skin on the back of your hand or forehead. If you except the mark of the beast you are chosing to follow Satan and not Jesus. If you do not take the mark the anti-christ will have your head chopped off.
      We know that the muslims want a caliphate. If this happens and you do not convert to the muslim belifs your head will be chopped off. Something to think about.

      What is going on here? There is no unforgivable sin other than denying the power (blaspheming) of The Holy Spirit by intentionally and openly rejecting Jesus Christ. One is essentially siding, on purpose, with Satan against God. All this talk about suicides and others being unable to ask forgiveness is pure lies, either spread wilfully or by ignorance. Read Scripture, folks. One asks forgiveness for what he/she is, a sinner. We sin because we are sinners by nature, not the other way around. Our nature must be forgiven and once it is, all of our sins of commision and omission are forgiven from the day we were born through our death, up to and including (in some cases) suicide.

      No one nor nothing can separate us from the love of The Father in Christ, Romans 8:35-39. Death is listed, and suicide is just another death. What about a soldier who jumps on a grenade to save his platoon? Obvious suicide. If he was a Christian at the time, does he get sent to hell anyway? John 10:29 says emphatically, “No.“ The ”no one” mentioned there includes the person committing.

      By Grace alone, not works, Ephesians 2:8-9. Suicide is a work, it can’t save you, so how could it have the power to send you to hell? God is able to keep us. Have a little faith.

      My point was that depending upon whom is posting, there is 1, or 2 or more unforgiveable sins. Now, my belief is that the only unforgiveable sin is not accepting Christ as your personal savior. However, there are a multitude of beliefs, thus we have to agree to disagree on some points.

      I think you took this out of context … I have never proclaimed to be all-knowing.       I don’t believe the Bible states “under your skin”. That seems like an addition to me.

      The point that I was trying to make is this … yes, there are all kinds of ideas out there with no backing of scripture. Learn the truth of scripture and stick to it . It explains itself quite well . I would admit that I myself do not know it nearly as well as I should and want to.
      Concerning the mark… we do have a pretty good idea how this will happen and this is the leading of the Spirit that guides us . EXACTLY, not yet maybe … we will.

      I went to Hershey Park when I was a kid and when I left I always had my hand stamped for park reentry. Little did I know I was getting the mark of the beast! If you followed some of the lines, but not others, erased some of the ink in a few spots, followed some creases in my skin, connect the moles, and apply a few lines then I would have had a symbol remarkably close to 325, which, as everyone knows, when converted to binary and added to 101010101 and then converted back to decimal is 666!
      *GASP*
      Returning to Hershey Park on the same day you left is the 3rd Unforgivable Sin!
      In all seriousness, most Christians get angry at their religion being ridiculed by the government-worshipping Left, and I understand that. Those bigots can be extremely obnoxious about their hatred of your religion, but why oh why oh why oh why do you insist on making it so easy for them to ridicule you?       I will bet you anything that you can’t find the word “rapture” anywheres in the Bible. It is an invention taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The word is “harpazō“ and means to ”snatch away.” The same word is used in the parable of the seeds. So, if you miss God’s “rapture” you can catch Satan’s “rapture.”
      No rapture. Harold Camping still has egg on his face over this.
      I am waiting for September 27th to see just how close to “the end” we are. If Jerusalem is “surrounded by armies”, we are out of time.

      If the mandate to receive this mark is implemented then the “Body of Christ” is already removed. The people that are yapping about going through the tribulations and refusing the mark at any cost will probably be left behind since they obviously don’t believe that the work of Jesus dying on the cross is a completely finished work of total justification to those that believe that, alone, and not in some hunkering down survival plan to spare them from God’s wrath that will unleash as soon as the true believers are forcefully removed from the earth. 99.9% will not be Jews since they deny Jesus as the Messiah. 0% will be non-believers and works oriented religions that believe their human goodness will meet God’s requirements of righteousness without Jesus Christ being the only way to the Father. Oh yeah, there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth alright, especially when the rapture happens pre-trib just like the ones that are truly going to be in it know that is when it occurs. Probably less than 2% of the current population if you count those Christians that are already in the grave.       Please read the prayer of Jesus in John 17: 13-18 … pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to verse 15.

      I have been a Christian all my life and have heard the rapture theory from all sides, sermons, books, videos, and debates. There will not be a pre tribulation rapture. There are four main points that people use to support the rapture.
      1. God telling John to “come up here” in revelation is used to say that God is talking to the church. There is no article for the church here and no context for the church. God is talking to John only.
      2. “The church is not mentioned in the middle of revelation so they must not be there” The word “church” is not there but the church itself is. Just because a group is not mentioned doesn’t mean it is not there. On top of that there is mention in Rev. 9:4 of those “with the seal of God in their foreheads” and a mention of the bride of Christ. Those with the seal are Christians/the church and the bride of Christ is always the Church.
      3. 1 Cor. 15:52 As mentioned this is just referring to the very end when Christ returns after the tribulation. “At the last trump” is used so all you have to do is count the trumps and see what happens at the last one. Revelation has 7 trumps and at the last one Christ returns, after the tribulation.
      4. The big one, 1 Thes. 4:13-18. This is so simple but messes so many people up. People those days wanted to know where the dead are. So, Paul explained if you die a Christian you go to heaven as Christ did to be with him, “dead in Christ”. When he returns we will all change and meet him in the air. Read 2

      In terms of the “mark of the beast”, let me explain this in simple common sense terms. Will more technology come out with chips and tattoos? Yes, of course, things change all the time but this has nothing to do with the “mark of the beast”. Let’s say that someone grabs you, ties you down and puts a computer chip in your forehead. Does that damn you to hell? That makes no sense what so ever.

      So, lets break this down. Words matter, the term is ‘IN” your forehead or right hand, not “on” so it is not a tattoo. What is in your forehead? Your brain! The mark in your forehead is a mental thing, in your thoughts you serve satan, not God. Satan will be here soon and he will offer you a chance to worship and serve him, if you do you will be taking the “mark of the beast”. Not a chip or tattoo. Billions will do just that, they will not see him for who he is and will follow him all along saying. “There is no way I’m taking that computer chip thou!”

      “In the right hand” What does that mean? Have you ever heard someone say, “this is my right hand man”? That man, with his actions serves the other guy. It’s the same thing, by taking the mark in your right hand you serve satan with your actions.
      A few more things to think about.
      Do the sealed 144K of Israel have tattoos? NO, they are trusted servants of God.
      This is very important and I can’t stress it enough. Satan will come first and will pull billions away from God with his lies. Pray, study and know him! Do

      How do the verses in Corinthians back the pre-trib belief ? This is as you also seem to say; is at the physical return of Christ. Also Revelation 13;16-17 directly say’s we receive a mark in order to buy and sell. I understand you’re biblical symbolism, but frankly think you apply it incorrectly. And the reason being scripture does not seem to agree with it. The “forcing” of the mark will be … take it or die. They will not make you take it … if you don’t take it you die. One cannot be made to follow Christ, neither can they be made to follow satan … that’s why it is called the mark of the beast (+_+) … peace

      I think we are on the same page almost entirely so I don’t see the dispute. On Corinthians being for pre-trib, I see it used time and time again for the rapture. Every time I want to yell out, last trump, last trump!! I actually have a print out from a church that says and I quote “when it says last it doesn’t necessarily mean last”. Every seen John Hagee? He uses it like every week.

      The point of the “mark of the beast” is that it will not be a physical “mark” Let say someone comes to your door and says “we are here from the love and money group and we have come to help you, sign here.” Sounds good right? Until you see the “satan lover” tattoo on the forehead or 666 on the right hand. Satan is not stupid and wants as many as he can on his side so he will use lies. You need to know your Bible and timeline to be useful and ready.
      You said, “One cannot be made to follow Christ, neither can they be made to follow satan” That is my point exactly. People look at the mark of the beast and think it is a tattoo or chip so if they take it they will be damned to hell. That is false! You can not have two masters, either you serve God or satan. You can not be forced to take the mark, it will be a free will choice.
      I want people to know that if they are looking for a physical “mark” it won’t happen that way. It will happen in the mind and with ones actions. You will know them by their fruits!!

    This report is just now making the news but I wonder how long it has been in the making. I think that the plan gets made and the system to implement the plan are already in place before announcements like this are made.

    This could be ready to become law sooner than we think. Some might think I’m paranoid but look what has happened in the last 3 1/2 years that none of us expected to happen and how QUICKLY these events are happening.

      Yeah … we gettin close, fourth turn and headed for the home stretch. May the Lord help those of us that will refuse the mark. There will be no manner in with to live, except of the charts. Even then it will be almost impossible. The world system will squeeze out true christians like the Nazi’s did to the Jews in WWII. KEEP THE FAITH, brothers and sisters!

      While I have been taught all my life that there is going to be a rapture and I won’t be here once that happens, I know not for 100% that there will be a rapture simply because talk of that is about as vague as it gets in the Bible.

      That said, _IF_ Christians are not raptured pre-introduction to the forced mark of the beast (whatever that mark may be), what will it be like to not accept and watch your family die? Watch your wife, your husband, your children, literally die of starvation (or worse) due to not accepting that mark? I think we haven‘t a clue as to what we’d do and how horrible this is going to be.

      I pray there is a rapture, or, if not, then that I live my life well and die a peaceful death rather than go through and experience the horrors that are to come.

      Do you not think this has been happening all over the world. Jesus was the first … He led the way we are to follow, He said; “Father forgive them, they know not what they do”. Have you ever really thought on that … it is beyond amazing and remarkable. I can be over powered and nailed to a cross, but Jesus let them do that and he returns love and compassion for their hatred and mockery. THAT MY FRIEND IS COURAGE, and the making of a true man and something to attain to.

      Concerning the “rapture” read my post to “Watasbuddyfriend” 5/24 @ 10:19am I explain it there.
      I used to believe there was a rapture also ( may the Lord forgive me)… even taught it (work with teens), but the Lord lead me to the truth. I became a follower because of Revelation and still find it facinating. I wanted to know more and began to read a book one day of Tim Lehae ( the LEFT BEHIND guy) on the subject. I came to a page early in the reading that had about 15 verses listed that supposedly backed up his teaching. I went through every one of them and NOT ONE fit the time frame … and because of this I began to learn more. I have a pastor friend who has a great depth of understanding and go to him to confirm what I believe I have learned by reading scripture … he was in agreement as are others on this subject. The church in America is NOT PREPAIRED to NOT be taken … it is of great concern to me, and why I speak up here.

    Lol ! this idea is very old. Was written about in a book that is still widely read for the last 2000 or so years. I suggest a number… ya that’s it… on our foreheads or right hand….Hmmmm ya that sounds like a great idea!!!!! Starting with 666……. What do you all think? good idea?? lol.

      The iris is unique as well. There is no reason for this kind of identification other than the dehumanization and control of people. Hitler did it to process the Jews through concentration camps. Have we learned nothing? Just say NO to real i.d.!

      Evil is moving quickly, very quickly. We did not necessarily know why we were preparing, buying food to store, learning to garden, , the whole “beans, bullets, band-aids and bullion”, etc… in advance. Maybe this is why. Those of us whom refuse the mark will have to depend upon our own skills and resources in conjunction with the fellowship of other believers in Christ to get through the coming tribulations.

      The Amish may have had it right all along.
