Police evicted the Occupy Salt Lake City protesters who had made Utah’s Pioneer Park their campsite, arresting 19 people Saturday who refused to comply.

Despite the arrests, the protesters’ removal was peaceful and no incidents of violence were reported, and city sanitation crews arrived to clear debris from the park — with a bulldozer.

Protesters were ordered to vacate after a man was found dead in his tent at the encampment Friday, apparently due to carbon monoxide poisoning and a drug overdose.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported:

About 5:30 p.m., a massive fleet of police vehicles arrived at the south end of the park, carrying more than 70 officers from the city as well as from the county’s Unified Police Department. About an hour later, as an officer addressed the crowd through a bullhorn, other officers waving flashlights began shaking down tents, which looked like deflating balloons.

[...]

Police directed campers to gather their belongings while offering to help protesters find places to stay overnight. Officers first swept the east side of the park, as protesters gathered around them, and by 5:47 p.m., police began clearing tents on the west side.

Sanitation workers then moved in with a front-end loader and two dump trucks to clear debris from the campsite locations.

“This is what a police state looks like,” said protester Drew Baker, 21, who led others in a chant.

According to the Tribune, three of the group’s main organizers were arrested around 7 p.m. when they attempted to re-erect a tent in an area that had already been cleared.

Protesters will be permitted to demonstrate in the park during the daytime but no camping will be allowed.

Editor’s note: The equipment used to disassemble the camp has been widely referred to as a bulldozer, though as some observant readers have pointed out, it is a front-end loader. (H/t Blaze reader Dennis.)

Doesn’t matter. They’ll be back. This bulldozer is doing the job that mama used to do for these pigs, clean up after them. These occupy spaces look like third world ghettoes. Makes me want to walk out of my capitalist purchased clean home and go wallow in filth and squalor.

As I watch these events it makes me realize that the Tea party is the only people who still abide by the rule of law. That’s where this is going- none of these robots will ever be held accountable for their actions until we decide that we no longer follow the law. I love the whole nonviolent thing, but God has endowed us with the right to protect ourselves. What do we do?

I guess if it’s revolution they want, revolution they shall get. What a bunch of little eichmanns.

I got a better idea! leave the loader and the high paid operator back at the shop, get a 19 yard dumpster tell those fat guys in orange they have 30 mins to load it and then go home. You save some carbon credits by not using the loader and you cleaned some donuts out of a handful of fat guys arteries, so when they retire at 55 they don’t put to much a burden on the Taxpayer.

The last thing the police wanted was to get the cleanup crew infected with the OWS creeping crud, so they called in the front loaders. This 20-something has had an extremely light life of Xbox on the couch, Doritos, and Starbucks Lattes. Now he will go back to that life and from his couch, shake a non-calloused fist at “The Man” and recall these protests with vigor.

This is the warm-up act for a police state. It’s purpose is to desensitize the television zombies to images of mobs, fires, looting, police in body armor, civilian arrests, tear gas, MACE, etc. The next encampment that is to be destroyed will be better prepared. Tire spikes for the “enloader”, molotov cocktails for police vehicles, retaliation against property, etc.

Ghandhi and MLK showed the purpose of peaceful civil disobedience is to provoke the authorities to use mindless force and violence. The Liberal press then sympathizes with demonstrators and their causes.

Passive aggression works much better against these demonstrators. Be creative.

      (1) Play Barry Manilow between 6 and 9 AM when they are sleeping in their tents.
      (2) Barricade the park so the no drugs or weapons are brought in.
      (3) Enforce fire codes. No open flames. Widen the aisles.
      (4) Power wash the sidewalks several times a day during nap time.
      (5) Idle diesel city garbage trucks upwind.
      (6) Cordon off an safe observation area for the press and gawkers.
      (7) Publish photographs of demonstrators on a Social Website.

The technique of Jujitsu is to use an opponent’s force or energy against himself rather than opposing it directly.

Couldn’t a president who say was against these protest deem them “enemy combatants” for hostile acts against the state and essentially eliminate them all or lock them up indefinitely?

Aren’t all the calls for these “protests” to be removed pretty much the bottom up crying for the top to come down?

How about we bull doze the entire of Washington DC, and let them use the Little White house in Pine Mt Georgia? We can sell air force one and purchase a leer jet, and have the president ride in a humvee. We can send his kids to the local public school and have his wife volunteer at the local hospital (with only one pair of shoes of course).
We can provide congress with private quarters at the local trailer park and a banquet room at the Holiday Inn.
The judicial branch can work from the local court house, with residence in the closest apartment complex.
The treasury can exist in one of the local banks which have gone bust or an empty car dealership. The entire event will cost us less than 40 million per year, which is a vast savings from the several trillions we are spending now.
We can turn the bull dozed DC into a wild life refuge/state park, Keeping the monuments of course.
