Want to See Behind-the-Scenes Footage of Diane Sawyer in Joplin, MO?

A curious piece of behind-the-scenes footage featuring ABC’s Diane Sawyer has started make the rounds today. It shows Sawyer prepping for a live shot while broadcasting from the tornado-ravaged town of Joplin, MO in late May.
The footage was first posted by Harry Shearer on his blog and titled “I have nothing,” referring to a quote by Sawyer in the video:
Besides an interesting peek behind the curtain of network news, the video is also being used to criticize Sawyer. Shearer characterized the video as showing how “hard” it is for Sawyer to the deliver the news cast, while Gawker said it shows Sawyer “frantically” attempting to “put together a broadcast.” But Mediaite’s Mark Joyella takes exception to that:
In TV, telling producers you have nothing is very important information. Sawyer displays no hints of diva-dom. Instead, she asks for clarification on facts of the storm, and says she has no clear idea how the critical top of the newscast is going to flow. All this, of course, in the minutes before that newscast goes live. To a reporter like myself, who’s done a lot of television liveshots in all kinds of conditions, Sawyer seems positively Zen in her calm. But what’s funny about that? Nothing.

Sawyer doesn’t act entitled in the least. She’s hardly focused on herself, telling the crew that if it’s dangerous to stay in their location, they should all leave. She never talks down to anyone, and even as time runs out and she’s not seen a key script involving a camera move and a live interview, she suggests it might be wiser to do the multi-element segment on tape–or at least practice it–rather than have it crash on live TV. Yes, Diane is Diane, and she never loses her cool. She’s not just high-priced talent in this case, she’s highly experienced talent. She’s the kind of person who can calmly work amid the frenzy of photographers, field producers and others all talking to her at once–while producers back in New York are talking into her ear (when the IFB connection is functioning, of course). She’s calm, clear, and authoritative to each and every one of them.

It looks like the whole crew is confused and I am sure they are. Is it really necessary to have all those people for and on the spot piece? I didn’t think it would take that many to do the job on location in the storm no power. I would have understood if everything was not perfect. I think most everyone would.

Please explain these to me.
1. If the “Evil Rich” who pay the most dollars/highest percentages of taxes aren’t paying their “fair” share, what does that make everyone who pays less dollars and a lower percentage?
08, the top 10% paid 70% of the taxes. The bottom 50% paid 3% of the taxes.
2. How long can you run your household spending 40% more than you made before making serious/painful cuts? Would you make the cuts?
10, 2.2 trillion collected tax revenue, 3.5 trillion (40% more than collected) spent.
3. What logic was used to get the conclusion of a MORE expensive operating cost produces a LESS expensive end product. It seems someone as “greedy” as big oil would pass the extra burden to the purchaser, inevitably “shafting” you more at the pump, right?
4. How much money could one make before they have too much? What dollar amount would you limit the American Dream to?
By reading your post I assumed the following.
Regardless of what tax bracket YOU are in YOU don’t pay enough and you will make a charitable donation above and beyond what is required to the IRS. You would make cuts before your went bankrupt. I have no explanation for number three other than you must want to pay more at the pump. I also have no explanation for four because I do not subscribe to limiting my fellow mans potential, even yours. Reach for the Stars!

I and most of the people posting at the Blaze would be scared to death to go on live TV without knowing what we are supposed to do. The left nitpicks and demonizes everyone they disagree with politically. I see too many people at the Blaze doing the same thing. Just because we disagree with the left politically it does not make everything they do wrong and evil. We can disagree with each other and still treat each other with respect. If both sides display nothing but hate to each other we will never be able to fix the mess our country is in. Just because so many on the left behave with hate and malice to the right we must not respond with hate and malice. I can’t speak for everyone here but, I am better than that and you should be too. Most of the average people supporting the progressives are not bad and evil people they are useful idiots being used. We will never convince them they are wrong if we have hate in our hearts.

I would probably react the same way if I was in this situation. As for her primping, she’s about to go live in front of millions of people; who wouldn’t primp? Especially in this day and age where your looks are so important. I don’t understand the bashing.
