Every since ESPN sacked Hank Williams, Jr. and his “Monday Night Football,” the network has attempted to fill the void with some clever openings. Past openers have included Joe Montana and Barry Sanders. So who would ESPN roll out for the final Monday night game of the season? None other than Betty White.
The bit was classic White. It included plenty of one-liners, charm, and even some innuendo.
“[Matt] Ryan‘s nickname is ’Matty Ice‘ because he’s so cool,” she said at one point. “But I prefer ‘Matty Steam’ because he’s so hot.”
There was also discussion about what happened when she tried “Tebowing.” In fact, the segment even included some dancing:
You can watch the entire intro below:

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 10:40amI used to really like Betty White. That came to a screeching halt, though, after watching a 2006 celebrity “roast” of William Shatner on cable TV while visiting at a friend’s house. The filthy words and innuendos spouted by Ms. White (a so-called sweet and decent woman) were stunning. Not having cable television, I’d never seen her on a cable network, where there is little or no editing out of filth. I’d only seen her on programs and commercials carried by networks where (back in 2006) filthy language and innuendos were not permitted. Now, when her commercials about loving and caring for pets are shown, I turn off the volume or channel. She’s quite an actress ….had me fooled for over sixty years.

I’m boycotting the NFL for dismissing Hank Jr. and for allowing the TSA to fondle and harass their customers just to watch millionaire jocks touch each other physically and make more money than you’ll see in your life doing it.

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 4:48pmWe’d do well to remember that Hollywood types are in their profession for a reason, they are not necessarily good people, very few of them are wise, they mostly have dysfunctional personalities and lives — so why do we pay any attention to any of them at all? I don’t. Haven’t for many years. They are irrelevant, other than the disproportionate amount of influence they have on society.

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 10:26amYour problem is that if there is more than one page of comments you just don’t bother sorting those first pages. unfortunately that totally defeats the purpose of having a sort by newest message to oldest since it’s only sorting the VERY LAST page of the comments. But that isn’t what your customers want right, so what we do in the rest of the programming world is try and figure out why it‘s like that and change it so’s it sorts ALL the comments from newest (That means the latest entry according to the date and time) to oldest (The first comment entered) would then ALWAYS be the LAST comment on the LAST page of the comments section. OR, maybe this is a union shop in which case…nevermind…

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 9:45amI’ve boycotted Pro football altogether, when they sign multiple felons(convicted of some of the most vile crimes) to multimillion dollar contracts and then fire Hank Jr. for making a comparison between Hilter and netanyhu and obama and boehner. And now they’re paying madonna to play a half time show on top of that. So basicly felons and people who simulated raping themselves with crosses are NFL material but someone who makes a political statement isn’t.
TO ANYONE WHO READS THIS MAKE THIS YEAR THE LEAST WATCH SUPERBOWL EVERY…BOYCOTT THE NFL

Posted on December 27, 2011 at 11:13amDirty Harry, yes she has class, and judging by your comment, a he!! of a lot more than you will ever have. She does comedy, get it, comedy. GEEZZ! Not only that, you are showing your age, by wishing you could handle a dog in heat. As for those B!TCHING about Monday night football, and how the players are overpaid, don’t watch it. Last I knew you could still change the channel. And why even comment if you don’t watch it. Get a Life. Hate that Hank is not on, and will change the channel when Maddoger goes on, but I love the game, and will continue to watch. Agree with the comments about the felons, they just don’t belong. BUT NO ONE ON HERE GIVES A RATS ARSE IF YOU DO NOT WATCH THE GAMES, OR DON’T LIKE THE GAME. GO POST ON THE BINGO BOARDS.
