Want to See How 4 Chevy Trucks Can Demolish a Building?

At first glance, this photo looks like four brand spanking new Chevy trucks ditching their abandoned dealership for greener pastures. But, look closer and you’ll see the trucks have other things in mind for that dealership.
Jalopnik reports that John Watson Chevrolet in Ogden, Utah, had some remodeling to do, and what better opportunity to get some shots of their Silverados in action.
Watch the demolition begin:
Here’s the end result:
This isn’t the first extreme footage the dealership has captured though. Check out this ad created in 2010 — where you’ll see the dealership in working order — with some pretty snazzy stunts by salesman Andy:

Yeah, I used to frequent the Loose Change forums, many years ago. I was the certainly most civil person there, but they didn’t like having their video openly debunked, so I was frequently banned. I had one guy go for pages and pages, often swearing and typing in all caps, insisting that the outer 3 rings of the Pentagon had concrete walls separating the bottom 2 stories, despite pictures which clearly showed the contrary. Some of them, like Tower7, will never let their ego be damaged by accepting that they bought into a hoax.
I post the link so there is some truth for the gullible to look at. 9/11 conspiracy theories are absolute garbage and it is a shame when someone actually falls for it.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 7:54pmAll I will say, Tower7, is that there has never been another case in history where two jets loaded with fuel rammed two 100+ story buildings, causing them to topple in the middle of a city packed with tall buildings. Yes, it is the first time that we know of that a building of that size (WTC7) has collapsed primarily to fire. It is also the first time a building of that size has had two massive skyscrapers collapse across the street.

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 12:21amTower7. Those buildings burned because some dufuss with the EPA and OSHA decided years ago that asbestos was causing cancer in some people that smoked. The truth is if the asbestos ahd been applied to the beams the likelyhood of a fire would have much reduced.. The “fireproof” stuff they use now is not fireproof.

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 11:37amI was in the automobile business for 35 years. I started by working at a Chevrolet dealership in the 70′s. At that time, there were still a lot of loyal GM buyers. Over the years, i watched how they started to really believe “if we build them they will buy them.” Customers became the enemy when they had a problem. I could write a book on the things GM did that proved corporate arrogance. During the 90′s I had an opportunity to do consulting work to Ford dealerships. I was surprised on the difference in attitude of, not only the dealers but, the manufacturer.
In the 90′s if you owned a GM product which was 5 miles beyond warranty that had a previously covered issue, well, that was just too bad. On the other hand, Ford would often cover items in whole or in part for thousands of miles outside the warranty period. This was especially true if the customer had owned several Ford vehicles.
Today, I own nothing but Ford vehicles. I was proud that they didn’t take the government money. It is sad to see a once great company fail. At one time, Chevrolet sold over 50% of the vehicles in this country. I still remember the phrase, “as goes GM, so goes the country.” The meaning of that was if GM had a good year, the economy was doing well. Maybe, that is still true?

Report Post »Snidely
Posted on January 16, 2012 at 5:41pmGreenstream, It’s fake because you can see the excavator shoving it down from behind the building. (Or as 408 Cheytac pointed out, the pickups got a bailout from the excavator.)
Report Post »greensteam
Posted on January 17, 2012 at 7:46amnice observation, however the equipment is inside the building. it was inside the building the whole time. in the video it was not pushing the wall at the same time the trucks were pulling. no doubt, the walls were broken free from the rest of the building. if that makes the video fake, than say that is the reason. i dont imagine they set up 4 trucks to pull off the front of the building while setting them up to fail. it was a demolition where they decided to add a little PR into the mix. if its fake than at very least it would be fake because the building was prepped for this, not because the trucks had help.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 4:00pmAll American made cars suck. Ford, GM, Chrysler, doesn’t matter. Poorly made, poor parts, overpriced, and lose their value faster than foreign cars. I pay more for a Toyota, but they last longer, are better made with better parts and I have to have the repair shop a lot less often. I had a 1996 Toyota Carolla, when I was finally done with it about two years ago, it had 260,000 miles on it and it was still running without any issues. All I did on that car was oil changes, brakes, and tune ups. NEVER a major repair of any kind. If an American car company made vehicles like that I would buy them.
