Warren Buffet and Rapper Jay-Z Team-Up in Kids’ Cartoon About Investing

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett — the man who thinks the “super-rich“ need to ”stop being coddled” and, in turn, taxed at a higher rate than they are currently taxed — has joined forces with rapper Jay-Z on an animated show for Hub TV intended to teach children about investing called “The Secret Millionaires Club.”
In the premier episode titled, “Be Cool to Your School,” set to air October 23, Buffett gives financial advice to a group of teens
attempting to raise money for their school and a trip to New York City. Jay-Z guest stars as himself — a successful music mogul.
The show’s description reads:
After four smart 14-year-olds get schooled on money and life by financial sage Warren Buffett, they form a club to give practical financial advice to people around the world. To reach as many as possible, they use the Internet to do research and find business owners or other kids who could use financial advice. Meanwhile, thanks to their own adventures and the advice of celebrity guest stars, the four SMC members keep learning their own lessons.
Forbes adds:
Not that many people noticed when Warren Buffett lent his name and (younger) likeness to the Secret Millionaires Club web series on AOL Kids. The show is a tad goofy and it obviously didn’t get that much money from Warren for production values. But the show’s intent is wonderful: teach kids lessons about financial responsibility and build good investing habits. Now the news comes that Jay-Z is lending his name and likeness to the show as it makes the leap from Web to TV. The rapper will costar in the premiere TV episode of SMC on October 23. As Good.com reports, “During the episode, Jay-Z invites four students to his office and applauds their hard work in school, then gives them some tips on how they can become successful later in life.”
Only one snag: What if these kids take Buffett’s and Jay-Z’s advice and grow up to become “super-rich?” It has yet to be revealed whether the show delves into topics entrepreneurs face every day — like taxes, and regulations…
Below is a clip for the premier episode:

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 10:24amSeriously who are you to even comment on a person of Warren Buffet’s stature. Beyond being and investment genius he is a humble guy and a true citizen. He cares about the country. You and the other people who take shots from the cheap cheap seats here care about your ideology, not the country at large. This effort is far superior to the Madison Ave. commercial crap the kids are bombarded with all day.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 6:51pmI like Warren Buffet. I don’t agree with his recent political games and his tax issues.. but it doesn’t undermine his great mind for business. And he still drives himself around in a used car.
At least he is out there trying to teach kids some financial responsibility. Clearly a lot of parents nowadays don’t teach this at all at any age- which is one of the reasons why the US is in the financial state it’s in.

Tear this system down! it has failed to make us all millionaires and billionaires at the same time and we probably won’t starve to death this time under Marxism. Oh Yeah, we’ll do communism better! We can’t let a little thing like a 100% failure rate stop us from achieving utopia.

The othe ‘first run’ cartoon on The Hub is a Muslim cartoon, with a woman in full hijab. They champion some really disgusting people. Subjugators, and criminals. When i say “I don’t want my kids watching this stuff, I get rolling eyes…sighs…grunts…”here we go again’ type stuff”. I feel like the world is coming down around me and I am the ONLY one who sees IT!

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 12:51amWow Buffet and Jay-Z are best friends? Super Cool Yo! That means there both hip and smart! LOL .
Seriously, This is the stupidest thing they can come up with, well actually Michelle Obama trumps this, but this is def a close second. Jay-Z is just as much a role model as Momar Gadhafi (they’re really not that different), probably why Beyonce performs for them both. Then again children are going to need to work at an earlier age to pay off China, sweatshops are coming back in style under these progressive Democrats.

Posted on October 21, 2011 at 6:46amTrinklefinder–I couldnt have said it better myself! I’m in almost EXACTLY the same situation! You didn’t mention your age. If my employer were to include me in his health insurance, it would cost him $18,000/yr.–for a guy he pays only $24,000 a year! The next nearest employee costs him about $9,000/yr! So, I have a ‘glass wall’ versus ANYONE else he has on board, and about $12,000 versus his AVERAGE of the others! That is a HIRING BARRIER! And, it’s AGE DISCRIMINATION through health coverage! This crap has GOT TO STOP! Also, I”m 63 and elected early Social Security because I was part-time employed when I started! I have to forfeit 1/2 my earnings above $14,000 and this continues until I ‘make’ $40,000 (which isn’t going to happen! I also forfeit a ‘benefit’ for my minor son, who is now in high school of 1/2 my Full Retirement benefit for each month I don‘t ’qualify’ for a Social Security payment! I pay tax on those ‘earnings’, so I figure it costs me about $1.35 for every $1.00 I earn over $14,000! The ONLY reason I work is to keep my sanity! Driving a truck around gets me out in the Sun and I don‘t have as much time to cry at my ’good fortune’ of having a job! And, they want to RAISE the retirement age–I have no problem, so long as they REMOVE barriers to a job–AGE DISCRIMINATION! Sheesh!
