Rush Limbaugh weighed in on the 'Romney Hood' allegation Tuesday
President Obama gave Mitt Romney the title “Romney Hood” Monday night, implying that the Republican presidential candidate will steal from the poor to give to the rich with his proposed tax plan.
“[It's] like Robin Hood in reverse,” Obama explained to applause from the crowd.
Obama justified the name by saying: “He’d ask the middle class to pay more in taxes, so that he could give another $250,000 tax cut to people making more than $3 million a year…”
“They have tried to sell us this trickle-down, tax-cut fairy dust before. And guess what? It does not work. It didn’t work then, it won’t work now…It’s not a plan to create jobs, it’s not a plan to reduce our deficit, and it is not a plan to move our economy forward,” Obama added.

It didn‘t take long for conservatives to point out the numerous holes in Barack Obama’s comparison.
“He makes it sound as if by not wanting to pay more taxes you are [somehow] taking from the poor?” Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit wrote, adding: “Because it‘s the government’s money. Not yours.”
Mitt Romney called the allegation “Obamaloney,” saying: “He’s serving up a dish which is simply in contradiction of the truth … he’s just simply saying things that are not accurate.”
And Rush Limbaugh, who has been called the titular head of the Republican Party, said Barack Obama has a telling misunderstanding of the “Robin Hood” story:
“Everybody thinks that Robin Hood was out there stealing money from the rich and taking it back and giving it to the citizens of Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood was stealing from the government. Robin Hood was a Tea Party activist. Robin Hood was anti-taxes…When I was growing up, the Sheriff was the evil guy.”

Not surprisingly, Twitter users elaborated on Limbaugh’s explanation of the Sherriff.
Amanda Carpenter wrote: “Obama gets Robin Hood wrong. RH didn’t take from rich entrepreneurs, he took from an oppressive gov’t that taxed too much.”
Another tweeter added: “Sheriff of Nottingham raised taxes on everyone while he & his friends lived like kings. Sounds like the Democrat platform.”
Michelle Malkin mixed her metaphors a bit, but got her point across by saying: “I’d rather have a shot at success in #RomneyHood than be relegated to perpetual serf status in #ObamaVille”

We are not talking about any tax cuts for the rich, we have been talking about KEEPING TAX RATES where they are already at – ie maintaining the Regan tax rates. It isn’t a TAX CUT to allow people to keep the money they already have earned.
Now, for everyone who hates rich people because they have boats, mansions, horses etc. When a person buys a mansion, they employ contractors, architects, supply companies, realtors, decorators, etc. And each of those people then purchase stuff with that money, pay taxes, educate their children, donate to charities, expand business, etc etc. That horse of Ann Romney‘s I’ll bet has run several households, educated several families kids, and in general “stimulated the economy” at least some, all on money that the Romneys paid from their pocket. The government cant do that – it can only punish society – ie TAX. Rich people SPEND money, and when they spend it – that is a good thing. When the Gov. taxes the rich – it robs the economy of the money that could be spent, and shown many times waists it or throws it out of the economy to foreign aid. Proven fact – you can’t tax rich people-rich people have companies who then raise prices to pay the taxes and it is the middle class who pay more for services and products- we are punished. You can’t force trickle down economics, but guarantee that taxing the rich WILL raise costs on middle class-cost jobs-send prosperity overseas—every time!

If every dollar that the government is currently spending was necessary to keep our country running then we might as well declare bankruptcy now because there is no way we’ll ever balance the budget or pay off our debt. Here’s how the real world works: if the government taxes a person or business, that person or business will require higher wages or prices to cover the cost of taxes. So if you tax the businesses and business owners more, it’s the customers who end up paying for it with higher prices. Why did Bloomberg tax soft drinks? Because he wanted the price to go up.
And as for those “services” that are supposed to help the middle class and the poor, how much of the money spent actually benefits the people? Most of it is eaten up by the bureaucracy to the point that I’d estimate that less that 25% of the money spent even gets to its intended destination.

I would think that you are very close with that 25% estimate.

How do you think the billionaires get the money to pay higher taxes with? The get it by cutting how much they spend (lower consumption leads to lower profits, fewer jobs, and lower wages), raising the price on any goods or services they provide (customers bear the weight of the tax burden), and hiring fewer workers (fewer jobs, lower wages, etc.).
It doesn’t matter who you tax because in the end anyone whose income comes from anyone other than the government itself ends up paying for it. You tax oil profits, I’ll be paying for it at the pump. You tax drug companies, my meds will become more expensive. You tax CO2 emissions, my energy costs will, as Obama himself said, “necessarily skyrocket”. You take money out of the private sector and that affects everyone.

You may know that gays/lesbians as a general group are well educated for the most part and very affluent. Surely you’ve heard about all the gay millionaires at AMZN, FB, MSN, and especially AAPL, including the CEO. Likely Tim Cook is a billionaire.
What does this mean? Only that you are wasting your time, and with Appelate Courts already standing behind and saying gays cannot under the Constitution, specifically 14th Amendment, Equal Protection Clause, be denied rights of all taxpayers.
It’s only a matter of time when gay marriage will be as legal here as in Canada, UK, Spain and elsewhere. Of course, it is already legal in a number of US states, progressive ones, of course.
You have every right to your opinion, but Jesus would say, as Bible clearly indicates he did, Love your neighbor, Do unto others. Give it some thought.
You are likely unaccostomed to losing, but you can’t really think going against the courts, the billionaires and millionaires, Prime Minister Cameron and President Obama that in this instance you have even a small chance of being on the winning side. Certainly, from his commands, the side Jesus would take.

Mitt Romney’s tax plan is to give large tax deductions to the highest tax rates and make up the loss in revenues by eliminating the tax deductions used by the middle class. His plan is to shift the tax obligations downward.

Under either dude the government takes way too much from us at gunpoint and spends waaaay too much of our children’s wealth. The Fed prints money without restraint or oversight to create asset class bubbles that fuel the wealth generation of a select few…the plutocracy. Politicians still will have a different deal than the rest of us. They still get to go in as “thousandaires” and come out as millionaires. Special interest will run the show and we’ll all be spoonfed lies.
Nothing either dude says changes one iota of that. The titanic is sinking and we are all up on deck polishing the brass. It’s stupid. We do nothing because it is so huge, so massive, so egregious, so evil, and so intimidating we don’t even know where to begin. The leviathan is too big to fathom. People wouldn’t even know what to do with themselves if we did take it all apart. As a society we’ve all become serfs and collectively we are happy about it.
Limbaugh with his Robin Hood bit…please. If he had a brain or a pair he’d use his pulpit to A) tell the real truth and B) start getting people informed about how to fix it. And that sure as heck isn’t voting for Romney.

Well put, thats what was running through my head as well. Its the Fed robbing people through inflation destroying the purchasing power of their savings. Not to mention all the capital that was allocated under false market signals (interest rates at 0.1 percent).
Neither candidate is going to fix this (abolish the Fed), and thats why Romney is no better than Obama, maybe ones rhetoric sounds different then the other but both let Bernake drive us over the cliff.
To bad we dont have a politician that would have audited the Fed and eventually abolished the institution all together. One that understands how the central bank is the cause of the prolonged busts and has been speaking about this very issue for thirty years.
