Wash. Univ. Jewish Frat Members Find Swastikas Keyed on Their Cars, Tires Slashed

Following a slew of pro-Occupy graffiti across the city, St. Louis’ Washington University is seeing vandalism of its own.

After a week away on spring break, four members of the Jewish fraternity Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT) returned to school to find their tires slashed, and swastikas keyed into the paint of their cars.

One sophomore, Max LaVictoire, had two swastikas scratched on his tailgate and one on the driver’s side door of his Dodge Ram 1500 truck.

However, the school’s newspaper reports that the event is being investigated as vandalism, not as a hate crime.  This is partially because the fraternity is next to a Chabad, but no vandalism was reported there.

LaVictoire said, “Nothing happened to Chabad [a Jewish organization], so I feel like if they were trying to target Jews that would have been an obvious target…It seems like it’s more ZBT-related because the other cars that got their tires slashed were parked at places where only ZBTs live, but not at formal ZBT housing.”

However, the use of swastikas in either regard is troubling.

Latest reports indicate that the police have taken a woman into custody, but her identity has not yet been released.

    NOOOOOO, of course it is only vandalism – It could never be a HATE crime because 1. THE AREN’T GAY. and 2. THEY AREN’T LEFTIST.

    What part of SWASTIKA’S means “I LOVE YOU”, cause I guess I missed it.

      So someone who hates Jews keys a little swatika on the rear corner pannel. I’m calling BS this was self inflicted or done by some Jew that wants to cry victim. Anyone so dumb and full of hate would have done it on the hood ,of the drivers door as big as possible.

      Don’t forget 3. They are white. When you read between the lines from the DOJ (or more accurately now the DOI-Dept of Injustice) only white people can be racist. I guess they have never heard of Rwanda or many of the speeches of Rev. Farrakhan.
      Living in St. Louis, I see a very disturbing pattern developing here that does not bode well for any of the citizens. It began with two purple-shirted SEIU members beating up a fellow black man who was distributing buttons at a Tea Party rally. Even though this was captured on video, it took MONTHS and lots of pressure from the outside before the DA-a Dem-decided to file misdemeanor charges which were mysteriously dismissed. Then the knock-out game started, where gangs of black youth jumped a non-black person walking or riding on the street–no money or valuable was stolen–the person was just beaten. The police said that was just an anomaly, nothing to see here, move on. The vandalism was classified by the police as only that since the Jewish associated building next to it was not vandalized. There were a couple of shootings in the Loop-an entertainment district and tourist attraction–and the police said it was an anomaly. How many anomalies do you need to have before someone sees a pattern?

    I’m sure it will eventually be investigated as a so-called “Hate crime” (read: thought crime). Of course, if it turns out the jewish students did this themselves, then it wouldn’t be a “hate crime”, since jews, Blacks, Hisps and others of ‘ZOG’s chosen’ cannot be prosecuted under “hate crimes”. Only White folks can be deemed guilty of “hate crimes”. Gee, ain’t it just great to live under such equality? (Remember: When the government starts outlawing emotions, we’re all in big trouble!)

      Who Cares! It is the new cool and hip thing in America to attack Jews – many think it pleases Obama. Most that attack Jews do not realize they are spitting directly in the face of God.

      Next – will be Catholic, and Christian targets. If Jews and Christian are not persecuted on a much greater scale – then everything in the Bible is wrong. The Bible tells us even if one thing written in the Bible is not true – then the whole bible is a lie – so far the Bible has not lied!

      So when the Bible said that the Whole World would come again Israel in the end times – I knew this was going to happen – I not going to tell you what God said is going to happen to those that attack Jews in the name of hate. They’ll have to read the Bible itself.

      Assuming you were serious, why would people who support Israel attack the property of Jews? Moreover, how do you connect Conservatism (free market Capitalists) with Fascism (Statist collectivism)?

      In any regard, I‘m glad this isn’t being investigated as a “Hate Crime”, because Hate Crime is Thought Police craziness. It should be investigated as vandalism and destruction of private property.

      At the same time, it’s also perfectly logical to call the culprits bigots. There’s no law against bigotry, but there is a law against vandalism.

    Once conservatives use the phrase “hate crime” as part of their language, we’ve already lost to the forces of political correctness (tyranny with manners).

    This act of vandalism is disgusting and appaling, and those who did it should be charged with simple vandalism and property damage. However, hate crime laws are nothing more than though-crime laws. It’s a means of legislating “thought.“ America should never legislate ”thought.”

    Also, while a motive may help us understand why someone did something, motive in of itself should not be a crime. If someone robs a bank because they are poor, do we charge them with the crime of poverty? Poverty was his motive, so why not? No! Motive is not a crime. Nor should “thoughts” be a crime.

    There is racism and anti-Semitism in this world, but you are free to be a racist, anti-Semitic moron if you want. If you attack someone because you hate their skin color, then you should be charged with assualt, and that’s it!

    Repeal all Thought Crime Laws!

    An obvious “hate” crime yet this wonderful young man tries to excuse it. Too unaware of history to tie it all together. If it had been done to a protected group, there would be marches going on right now. Wake up, Washington U, Some of your students are being threatened. Maybe it was some of your professors. I hope that these thugs realize that they are outnumbered.

      Agreed…an pervasive environment of anti-semitism cloaked as “anti-zionism” throughout our colleges and this is what begins to happen. Anti-Israel (by proxy, anti-jewish) speakers are lauded and embraced as speakers there while supporters of Israel (by proxy, pro-jewish) are shouted over and forced to leave. Morally decrepit terrorists like Bill Ayers can spout their anti-semitic diatribes for years as “professors”. This is what begins to happen when the left is allowed unchecked and unaccountable in our schools.

      Definitely not a hate crime. I mean, it‘s a Swastika on a Jewish person’s car. Couldn’t possibly be a hate crime. To be a hate crime one would have to place a decorative hood ornament of a swastika on the car, or have it painted on by a professional auto body shop.

    I hope Max is right that this wasn‘t a hate the Jew crime but with all the antiSemitism in America and on college campus’ these days I lean toward it being antiSemitism.
    Not every house in a Jewish neighborhood has to vandalized for it to be directed toward all Jews in general.

    The Nazis did not call it the swastika. The swastika is a Hindu religious symbol. It was a misidentified by western journalists. The Gernman Socialists called it the Hakenkreuz, which was oriented differently than the Hindu swastik.

      It’s not a hate crime because male Caucasian Jews were victimized. Had they been blacks, this would have been the crime of the century. But, because it involves white Jewish kids, it’s just a random event.

      Shoot one black kid and you‘re Adolph friggin’ Hitler; gang up on a white kid and it’s nothing. That’s how it is now.
